My husband and I stayed here last week in October and first week in November, we have nothing but praise for this hotel, all the staff were so friendly and polite, bedroom staff, dining room staff, and reception staff, everyone of them so helpful. The food was excellent, good quality, and choice. The cleanliness of the hotel, can not be faulted. I do agree with previous remarks that towels a bit thin, but these are changed everyday, and the sheets were changed often. The hotel is so peacefull and relaxing, as is the area surrounding it! I would reccomend it to anybody, and we will certainly be visiting again!
My family and I stayed here and had the worst experience due to rude senior management. On arrival we asked reception if it was possible for us to move a mattress to the other room as one of our family is a heavy sleeper, but he said it was too late for him to do anything and to ask management tomorrow. We told the female manager, Asunción [--], the following day that we had moved the mattress over for our first night and if it was not allowed we would move it back. She shouted furiously threatening to kick the whole family out. Her overreaction was completely unnecessary for our first day and set a sour tone for the rest of our trip. Aside from management, the actual holiday was an enjoyable and pleasant one. The pool and man-made beach was great and food was pretty good (as you would expect from buffet food) . However the biggest issue was the bill at check-out. We were charged €150 for bottles of water to both rooms! When we first arrived at our rooms we expected two bottles of water, as is offered at other hotels, but there was nothing and we just went to bed. The following morning we went across the road to the supermarket to buy water. Later that morning, I received a welcoming call from reception who asked if there was anything I needed. I asked for water since we were not given complimentary ones upon arrival and if it was free of charge, he said “yes of course!”. I asked if it was one bottle per person per day, he replied “as many as you like”. So we asked to have water delivered to our rooms every day. The following day we noticed no other guests with this hotel water bottle by the pool, so my father called from his room phone to reception to confirm again if it was indeed free of charge, they said yes. Over the week we asked reception FOUR times to confirm this and every time they said it was free and we did not sign for anything. When we were given the bill at check-out we asked the receptionist why these were charged, he raised his hands and shouted “Do you want ME to pay then?”. We then spoke to the male manager who was also rude and reacted as if we were lying. We asked him to check the call logs so he can hear proof that staff did indeed tell us the water was free. He kept refusing to check the calls, supposedly knowing that we were telling the truth but refused to believe it. We explained that if we had known it was not free of charge, we would have bought cheaper water across the road just as we did on our first day, but staff had reassured us on four occasions it was free. They had continuously lied to us. We were happy with the rest of the bill, water, wine and soft drinks at dinner which were charged and signed for. But we told the manager €150 for the other waters was absurd and we even offered to pay an amount towards this which would be the amount we would have paid at the supermarket across the road. He stood firm he wanted the entire bill paid which we had no choice but to pay since we were going to the airport. This entire time, the staff were all giving each other looks and smirks and were constantly maliciously speaking in spanish to one another about us. Overall, a great holiday for adults and the man-made beach was brilliant. However, management and staff were shockingly rude and incompetent which ruined what was supposed to be a great family holiday.
This is a lovely hotel, well positioned, modern and smart. The rooms are superb, big , clean comfy. Good wifi all over too. The food in the self serve is good. Plenty of choice. The Spanish a la carter is good food , but you would only do it once as the menu does not change from night to night. The staff here are just brilliant, polite, helpful....etc. The pool area is laid out very nicely with 2 large pools mirroring each other, there is also the beach pool , just down some steps to the sea front, where the infinity pool merges into the sea.... However, there is some really annoying features here.... 1st... They make you pay for the safe in the room... 14 euros for the week, sorry the safe is in the room, part of the room facilities, it's like saying there is a bed in the room sir , would you like to sleep on it... Oh that will be an extra 14 euros. STOP CHARGING, is it they don't trust there cleaners ? There the only people with access, so saying IF you don't pay for the safe, they take no responsibility for any losses is a cop out.... Also the bath towels are small and thin.. NOT in keeping with the luxury of the hotel POOL towels too, short and thin and RUBBISH really....I hat e not having a towel not long enough for the sunbeds, which really ought to have the pads on ... Not just hard beds to lay on. Or maybe I just like comfort too much.. Oh.. I'm in a quality hotel, so is it too much to expect ? ALSO, I fancied a steam room, in the spa area.... But it's been out of action now for 4 days... Poss longer... The part is coming from Spain... It really shouldn't take so long, it is one of the hotels main facility and to have it done for so long is wrong.... A few moans, but I would come back as it is a really nice hotel.. BUT management, get the other bits right.. SPOILS what could be a great hotel
Had a 11 night break at this hotel booked through Tui (Adults only). Can only write good reports, hotel staff amazing simply could not do enough for us and very welcoming, Hotel cleanliness top class room attended to daily fresh towels without request. Half board breakfast and dinner very good quality and great choice. 2 swimming pools plenty of sunbeds. This is a very quiet hotel which was just what we were looking for, no daytime entertainment but music and dancing in evenings. Did suggest to Hotel manager for tea and coffee facilities in room is being looked at, check before you go. Great holiday already booked for next summer.
Stayed at this hotel for a relaxing sun filled week and that's exactly what we got. Hotel is stunning, the staff are lovely, the rooms are impeccably clean and a very good size, two pool areas with plenty of sun beds for everybody. Excellent choice of food in the restaurant, they really do cater for everybody. There is a strict dress code for men in the dinning room in the evening (they must wear long trousers) which is the only down side considering it was so hot. Hotel in quiet area of resort, but this didn't matter. Lovely friendly Spanish bar on the roundabout opposite hotel which serves very reasonably priced drinks and generous measures as well. Tapas is good there too
Stayed at hotel about three years ago and found it OK but needed major refurbishment. Returned September 2017 to find it completely refurbed to very high standard. We had a corner room with a large L shaped balcony partly overlooking the pool area but far enough away for some peace and quiet. The restaurant food was good but if you wished you could eat in the Spanish restaurant at no extra cost. The starters consisted of help yourself tapas followed by a choice of 3 main courses (waiter service) and a large choice of sweeets. You have to book your table at reception but there was never any trouble getting a table. The pool area has been greatly improved and enough sun beds for everybody. The staff were efficient and friendly throughout the 2 weeks . Overall it was a very enjoyable holiday Well done to the management and staff.
Just returned from this brilliant hotel. From the very first moment we arrived we were met with a cooling drink, and very friendly reception staff who checked us in quickly and we were very shortly in our room. We had asked for a high floor room in a quiet part of the hotel with a pool view and that's exactly what we got with a sea view thrown in .Within two minutes the phone went from reception to ask us if the room was to our satisfaction and to assure us that they were at our service at any time. Breakfast next morning was great, a huge selection of food hot or cold really nicely cooked. You could sit ehere yoy liked, inside or out. There are two pools , loads of sun beds either in the sunn or in shaded areas.Pool towels are free and could be changed every day at no harge. There is absolutely no need to reserve sun beds, they are always available. There is a pool bar serving delicious ice creams, milk shakes as well as cocktails and beers. Dinner was of the same high standard. Something for everyone, and all freshly cooked and hot A word of praise for the Manager, he was everywhere, from morning breakfast at late dinner and all stops in between, always willing to talk and give advice. A great example of hands on management , not always seen in holiday hotels. All the staff from top to bottom were ultra friendly and made a holiday very enjoyable. Lastly , thank you lloyd our tui rep. He looks like allan carr, talksa like allan and acts like allan carr,, could it be him? He was great All in all, a fabulous hotel, we have already booked our return visit next year Thank you Rui
Recently spent a week in this fantastic hotel. The staff cannot do enough for the guests. Service with a smile and sense of humour. The hotel is spotless and all facilities are first class. The restaurant provides enormous quantities of beautiful food. This is the first time I have stayed in a half board hotel. I was not disappointed. We made use of the infinity pool located just over the road to the rear of the hotel. Would certainly recommend and hope to return to this lovey hotel. Well done Riu !
We stayed at the Rui Arecas for 11 nights in September and can thoroughly recommend this hotel. On checking in we were given a room on the first floor very close to the stage which I was unsure of as I thought it would be noisy. The staff were very accommodating and the next day we were offered a different room, we decided to stick to the original room as the music finishes at 11pm so it wasn't a problem. The room was spotlessly clean and modern. The food was amazing a very good selection of starters, main and pudding , it would have been nice if they had had the soft blue cheese every night though. We also visited the spanish restaurant , wasn't too sure about the tapas starters but had the steak which was wonderful 10/10! The hotel is just on the outskirts of Costa Adeje so about a 15 minute walk into the main part, so the further you walk the cheaper the beer! The bus stop is right outside which takes you to Los Christianos and Playas de Americas. The evening entertainment is Ok but not as good as some hotels we've been to in the past, cocktails are expensive so we walked over to Tiggys bar as they were more reasonable and there is a good singer playing most nights. My only other whinge is that the maids start very early, before 8am and their trolleys are very noisy which can be annoying. All in all it is a lovely hotel and we had a lovely holiday.
Just returned from our 3rd time staying in this 1st class hotel, extremely clean, wonderful staff, (nothing to much trouble for them), and great food, always hot with plenty of choice. Room was lovely and cleaned everyday with fresh towels. Evening entertainment is fair, if not a bit repetitive, but have seen a lot worse in other hotels, if you want a nice quite adult only hotel then this will not disappoint. Absolutely nothing to complain about. We will certainly be returning.
