Location is fantastic with great facilities, allocated great pool view sea view room, staff all very helpful thanks especially to Carlos. Food good and swapped evening meal to lunch so that we could eat out some evenings. Lots of restaurants , bars nearby and close to beach and shops, went a trip to the market and a walk to la caleta had a fantastic holiday and looking forward to returning to Santa Maria in January again can't wait thanks for all your care and attention during our holiday.
nice and quiet hotel very clean in fact spotless, we were very lucky with our one bedroom apartment room 265 over looking the pool and the sea we had the sun all day 10am till 6.30pm but some other rooms never got the sun and had no views so check when booking. I would certainly stay there again and recomend
Studio overlooking Fanabe Beach clean but ideal for our needs. Half board stay food good but great that you swap evening meal for lunch. Staff very good.Did not know what to expect but very surprised at the hotel.
Great friendly staff spotlessly clean brilliant pool loads of sun beds will DEFFO be back. This is about 5th time we have stayed at this hotel and it only gets better. Small incline but not a problem I wouldn't call it a hill. Reception staff great so makes a very easy check in and out food is not fantastic but getting better every year I think with the new restraunt manager it is greatly improved and all the restraunt staff work so hard . Well done to everyone who works at this hotel
Great location Plenty of restarants and bars close by. We had a sea view over looking chill out bar, lovely. Two things which we didnt like at the hotel Broken sun loungers left around pool area . The tables out side dining were left to guest to clean them their selves most of the time.!!! Positives Nice room cleaned most days towels changed often. Bbq night great food. Great wifi every where in the hotel. Garry and Lorraine Thompson
Was a good family holiday lovely hotel all staff so friendly except the lifeguard was so rude but the best part was the children entertainers they was superb every day and night made my little girl enjoy and remember her holiday and can’t wait to go bk so a massive thanks to them
This hotel in my opinion is a 3 star. I was very surprised to find out that our room didn't have any air conditioning. We had a ceiling fan and 2 stand alone fans but it wasn't near enough. I spent 7 sleepless night due to the heat. The hotel does have rooms with air con but these are private owned rooms. The food was ok but nothing great, not much choice especially for kids. I won't return here only due to the lack of air con it did in fact spoil the stay.
We have been in the Santa Maria in a private apartment for two weeks, and we were not allowed to have a wifi code, no access to the pool bar, so our 5 year granddaughter was not allowed icecreams or ant drinks, and neither were we allowed any drinks we were also told we could not use the luggage room, how can you penalise children for whatever legal issues are going on, you are penalising kids. Daft thing we would have spent a lot of money at the bar and so would have other families, how short minded that the hotel is prepared to lose money. I have only one thing to say in the hotel favour were the kids entertainers they were magnificent Dundee, Maya especially were fantastic as was Dewi and the bar staff in Flynn,s Shame the same could not be said about reception staff cold and unapproachable. It marred what was it lovely holiday
The Hovima Santa Maria has a great location, not far from a large selection of bars and restaurants. The hotel was very clean, plenty of sunbeds round the pool area and a nice pool bar. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We were booked in for half board but due to seeing family who were staying at another hotel we only had dinner in the restaurant twice. On both occasions the food was only average but it was regularly filled up with fresh food so there was always some of everything. Breakfast again was of average quality and was regularly topped up. On the last two days of our stay however there was a distinct lack of plates with only a handful available. Overall, the 3 star rating is accurate, with good staff, clean rooms, pool areas and restaurant but only average quality food.
Just returned from a week at the Hovima Santa Maria - would recommend this place to those that want to be close enough to all that Costa Adeje has to offer for a reasonable price. The hotel is nice and clean, the location is fantastic, the pool area is large with a pool bar. The rooms are clean, fairly basic but quite big - no air conditioning though and as most of the rooms face out on to the pool they get the sun all day.... boiling when you get back to your room to get ready and also too warm to sleep on a night. We had a ceiling fan in the bedroom which was not very powerful and they brought us a fan for the lounge - could have done with a few!! We were half board and were able to swap our evening meal for lunch every day - we just told reception on arrival and they noted it for us no problem. Breakfast was fairly average most days but the bread was moldy on a couple of occasions which was a little off-putting - especially when they brought it out again the next day!!! There was always a good selection of salad, fish, meat, pasta, pizza, paella, etc at lunchtime (this is served in the pool bar which is great) and we were all usually too full from that to eat much on an evening when we went out! The Irish Bar that is part of the hotel is not up to much - quite expensive and we only went there on our first night as we arrived late. They have a kids disco early on so we gave that a swerve for the rest of the week!! Plenty of bars and restaurants within a few minutes of the hotel. The beach is only a few minutes away and there are lots of nice bars and restaurants down there too - try the First and Last Fun Pub if you want a good night with a quiz etc! The hotel is within walking distance of everything you need on holiday - including Siam Park (don't bother with the free bus, it is packed so just drives past the stop!). We got a taxi there and walked back, not far at all. We went out on a boat trip where most of our party went scuba diving, saw turtles, stingray and even a school of dolphins. The marina is just 5 mins away and the diving school were excellent, you can get a full video link for 20 euros. All in all Santa Maria is a decent 3* hotel fo rthe money in a great location and Costa Adeje itself is a great holiday place, would definitely go back.
