Looking at some of the reviews people have left, I should have been running for the hills BUT I have just returned from 2 weeks at this hotel with my husband and 2 young children (9 & 4) and I'm glad I didn't pay much attention to the negativity, was able to make my own mind up and leave the following review, which I believe the hotel deserves. Firstly, I booked a 3 star hotel at a very good price. I got exactly what I paid for. Up on my arrival at 10pm, we were tired and hungry. The restaurant was reopened at 10.30pm so the new arrivals could be fed. A nice touch. Reception staff were welcoming and informative. We were shown to our room and were able to have a brief roam of the grounds before settling down after a long day travelling. Room 1 bedroom apartment with a kitchenette. Basic, dated but large, clean and perfectly functional with a nice view over the 'quiet' pool. The cleaners provided an excellent service throughout our stay Pools There was a sizeable 'quiet' pool with a baby pool next to it and a bar/toilets etc. This pool is also where the evening entertainment is held. I say 'quiet' pool like I do because of the ongoing work surrounding the larger pools, more people were opting to use this pool. Not a problem at all. The larger pool area consisted of 2 large pools and a baby pool. The baby pool is only only one of the 5 pools which is closed due to the maintenance. Half of the grounds surrounding the larger pool is where the major refurbishment is happening is closed off. This has left the sunbed areas at both pools cramped. There are plenty of sunbeds but slight lack of room to put them. This, of course, will improve dramatically once the building work is complete and it will look amazing!! Food While getting my food one day last week a lady complained to me about the variety of the food. I responded (after looking at her mountain piled plate) with "you do know you don't actually have to put every single available dish on your plate every meal. You wouldn't do it at home. Maybe limit yourself to Chicken one night, pork the next etc.....That way you'd have the variety you appear to crave" That left her speechless. The food was an excellent quality and there was plenty to choose from. If you have bought your kids up to eat nothing but chicken nuggets and chips, yes, you will have trouble. Luckily, my kids are more than willing to try lots of different types of meals cooked a different way and they ate like queens. The restaurant staff were very polite and efficient. There were never any queues for the dishes apart from the 20 deep queue of English children piling chips on their plate. Oh, and of course the toaster machine in the morning (international problem in every hotel) Bar I read before I arrived that there was always a 10 deep queue for the bar. Not in the 2 weeks I was there. There was always 2 people serving and 4 at busy times in the evenings. You can order 4 drinks per person at a time and as there is no money exchanging hands, the process is very quick. The measures, however, are bordering on attempted murder ;-). Not complaining though :-) Entertainment Every holiday, we are always heavily involved in the daytime entertainment. The clientele in the hotel was mainly English and French. The entertainment team were mainly French and (although nothing to do with the team themselves) we never quite felt welcome to participate. So we didn't. The evenings consisted of a mini disco (which my girls loved), bingo followed by the shows put on by the team. They are all very hard working and enthusiastic. I was aware of the building works before I arrived but decided to enjoy the one holiday a year I am lucky enough to have. As long as I was relaxed and my kids were having fun, I was going to enjoy myself. Not spend 2 weeks wishing I was somewhere else. What was that going to achieve? The hotel are clearly making improvements which is hard to do when you don't have a low season. There is always someone that will be effected. The staff are working hard to make sure that every other aspect of the holiday is enjoyable and to be honest, other than slight overcrowding around the pool (although I have seen worse in other hotels) the building work did not affect me at all. Great holiday for me and my family and I would be happy to return

Spotless clean, all inclusive is very good, food a little bit repetitive but still nice. The entertainment team work really hard. The work didn't cause us any problems and I'm sure it will be worth it once completed. Would definitely go back!

Our first holiday abroad and the best ever.staff were fantastic, really helpful, pleasant.Food was great.something for everyone.my daughter especially liked the puddings.the room was comfy and cleaners were friendly and thorough. We are returning next may with friends as I highly recommended it to them.couldnt fault it.absolutely fantastic. See you next may,and thankyou.

Still at this hotel entertainment is ok of a night they have it round the pool the one that looks like a building site but does not effect u tbh it's gunna take easy til September to finish so ignore the hotel or holiday company If they say different there is another pool which is good for kids food am fussy anyway so the snack bar does me tea time not Much for kids except chips and ice cream

Good hotel and exactly what you would expect from a 3 star. Renovations still going on but will look amazing once finished, food is adequate and rooms are lovely. However lots of cockroaches about ! Lovely beach 10 mins away

We were informed 1 week before travelling that there were works going on by the pool and given the opportunity to cancel with full refund , or stay with £300 compensation. We decided to take the risk and got there to a very warm welcome by the staff , got to our room level 2 with balcony and were right above the works . We have 2 small children and 1 teenager so sunbathing for hours on end at a pool just wouldn't work for our family as the kids would get bored easy. Pleased we decided to take the risk as despite the works going on didn't affect us at all as we spent every day away from the hotel during the day. The £300 came in handy for extra spending money on visiting the water park and having nice meals in the nearby restaurants at night . The room was lovely and tidy with daily towel changes and cleaning if needed . We found it lovely and quiet at nights , easy walking distance to 3 different beaches we visited . The little ones used the kids pool for an hour on our last day in the other part of hotel which was not affected. Lovely resort for families and had a superb holiday !

The hotel seems very good, with great potential. We booked this holiday well in advance, 8 months prior with Thomson. But unfortunately we were very affected by the work. We were told about this 2 weeks prior, but the email said we wouldn`t be affected and these were minimal work!! We stayed there from the 28/7 til the 04/08. We got there very late already 2 am from the 29 and were putted in a room away from the main amenities and facing all the work (we only saw this when we got up). We spent most of the day at the reception as I asked to move to a better room and we were told that this would be possible in 2 days. The first 2 days, were just wasted as we have two children and didn`t find any space at all by the kids swimming pool. So that meant staying by one of the adults swimming pool, where all the work was going on and we had to be with the kids constantly in the water, because this pool is 1.60 metres deep, so no relaxing and sunbathing for 2 days...half of the third day was wasted to move to the new room, etc. By the 4th day, we got the hang of it, of getting up before 8 and getting a sunbed before breakfast, to make sure we would get a place by the kids swimming pool. Even though there are signs saying that this is not allowed and the swimming pool opens at 10 am, everybody was doing it. The new room was very nice and close to everything and made our holiday much better. I wished we were there since the beginning to avoid all the hustle. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, and as soon as we asked for something they would do straight away. The food was nice, plenty of variety. We ended up having dinner most of the days at the Italian restaurant, where its worth to book in advance, its a quiet restaurant and the food is very nice. Overall, the place was clean, the staff was very good, food was nice. Personally I didn't like any of the juices, but there were plenty of fizzy drinks as well.I would never go to any hotel that is undergoing any kind of work ever. I think we spent a lot of money and wasted 2 1/2 days. I still dont understand why they chose this time of the year to do this kind of big work. The swimming pool was open 2 days before we leave, even though they were still working around it.

Got back 28th July after a weeks family holiday. Hotel very clean, staff friendly and helpful. There were works going on in the pool area to increase space for sun loungers we were not really affected by this. Sun lounge area by smaller pool was very busy but think this was because people did not want to go in other pool area due to work, several times went through and there were empty loungers available. Good choice of food, no problems with drinks from the bar yes it is served in plastic glasses and maximum 4 per person at anyone time. TUI rep (Margaret) very friendly and helpful even organised late check out due to evening flight. Entertainment was good hosts spoke in plenty of languages for all guests.

As many reviews on here have been negative about the recent building work the hotel is undergoing, we wanted to ensure that the many positives about the hotel get mentioned. We were worried about going on the holiday after reading the reviews but pleased we didn't cancel. We got back on Saturday 5 Aug. Overall we had a fantastic 2 week holiday. Our children are 10 and 7 and we spent most of the time around the pool that wasn't being renovated. Yes we were crammed in a bit with the sun loungers but that didn't bother us at all and now that the larger pool is reopened it eased the pressure. I had noted that other reviews had mentioned the 20 deep queues for the bar (we were All inclusive) - this was NEVER the case. Think the longest I had to wait was 2-3 mins for any drinks, either during the day or in the evening. It would have been nice if it had opened slightly earlier in the morning though. After breakfast there is no where to get a coffee or drink until it opens at 1100hrs. The pools were well maintained and they were cleaned everyday. The lifeguard didn't do much 'life guarding' but did do their share of pool maintenance throughout the day. I would recommend taking some swimming shoes for the kids as several including ours got cut toes from, we presume, sharp tiles in the pool. The lifeguard on hand to administer plasters but no log or action taken to resolve. I would guess that the pool we were at is the next to be redone. Our room was excellent. Bath and shower. Clean. Air con. Any minor fault we reported got sorted almost immediately. It is well kitted out with kettle, microwave and all kitchen stuff. Even shower gel and liquid hand soap in the bathroom. We had a one bed apartment which meant the kids got the room and we slept on the sofa beds. Not very comfortable but what do you expect from a sofa bed. The room was ALWAYS cleaned and serviced when we needed it to and the towels and sheets exchanged very frequently. The odd cockroach in the bath but they came through the ventilation opening above the bath. No reflection on the cleanliness or state of the room. The staff in general were great. Very helpful and extremely good with the children. This extends from the reception, bars, dining hall and cleaners. Cleaners are out from dawn to dusk. One of the only negatives I have is having to share the hotel with some many rude UK holiday makers. It was great to have an international feel to the hotel. It was the UK contingent that were loud round the pool, couldn't control their badly behaved children, smoked and swore around the pool, as well as stayed up drinking and keeping others awake at 3 in the morning. The other negative is the volume of the entertainment at night. We had a pool/ evening entertainment facing balcony. Some of the entertainment went on until 1 some finished earlier, but it was loud! No need for it to be quite so loud. It did keep us awake. It tried to cater for all nationalities so is not just French as others have suggested on here. It is for ALL guests. In fact the main events like Mammia Mia and Lion King were in English. The bingo got a little tedious when each number has to be read out in 5 languages!!!!!! The food was as I was expected from a good 3 star hotel. Everything you could possibly want for breakfast. Freshly cooked pancakes and fried eggs to full english to continental meats and cheese, fruit, cereals, dried fruits, waffles, breads. The minor complaint would be the quality of the sausages - not sure of the meat content but I suspect not that high. Lunch for AI guests can be taken at any point in the snack bar where you can get burgers, hotdogs, pizza, chips and salads. Or the main restaurant where you get the full selection. Dinner is then a full selection of different dishes and salads. I suppose it was slightly repetitive but catering for the masses is tricky and also there are only so many meats in the world! You could have something different everyday as so many salads and variations of dishes each day. People complained that there was chips available for every meal. And??? Can you imagine the outcry if chips weren't available!? Overall I get the feeling some people arrived already negative and were always going to have an issue with the hotel. You are on holiday and so may as well enjoy it. There will always be a couple of irritating bits - having to share with rude people from the UK and the entertainment being too loud, but enjoy the fact you are on holiday with the family and grab a beer. It pays to be polite and doesn't cost anything - I requested a late check out initially though the Thomson rep. I believe my polite and positive attitude went some way to ensuring we kept the same room at nil cost for our late check out until 1800hrs. Others had to move to a courtesy room the other side of the hotel. The local area although hilly with many slopes and steps it is great to go for a walk or run. Los Gigantes is walking distance. As a family we walked to the marina and back in Los Gigantes. Shops etc are all dotted close to the hotel. Lidl should you need a large supermarket is 5 min walk. The Thomson rep was a joy. Margaret was very helpful and although not always got the answers to hand she made every effort to get the answer. She sorted out a trip to Oasis (a small salt water pool complex with a couple of slides) for us and was always happy. Also helped us get our late check out sorted. In summary, a great holiday. Our children loved it, they made lots of friends and we all had a great time. The staff are extremely helpful and they keep the hotel clean and functioning well. It was sharing with rude fellow countrymen that let it down for me.

Apologies to the hotel for the very late posting of this review. We stayed here last Easter for 2 weeks. It was our first trip to Tenerife and we choose the area due to it's quieter location. The hotel was spotless, the reception and restaurant staff very friendly and helpful and the kids club and animation team were amazing. My little one still talks about Alicia, Chocolate and Mario. They work long hours and were amazing with the children (and very funny!) We split our time between all inclusive and self catering. The choices in the restaurant were plentiful and the food was lovely. Pancakes and nutella every morning are a childs dream! There are many lovely restaurants in the area too so keep in mind if you are there for over a week. The maid came every day other than Sunday. Our apartment was always left spotless and there were plenty clean towels. Yes the rooms are slightly dated and some of the furniture is starting show signs of age but the hotel is addressing this. Our original room was not what we wanted and on the 2nd day when we 'politely' spoke of the issues we were moved. The main pool is noisy with activities during the day therefore quiet at night and the quiet pool is noisy in the evening as that is where the entertainment is held therefore rooms around that area will not be appropriate for an early night if sleeping is a concern for you. Everything you need is a 2 minute walk. Cafes, restaurants, bars beaches and shops. a 10 - 15 min scenic walk along the cliffs takes you to gorgeous Los Gigantes with a beautiful harbour and many more places to shop, eat, drink and for nightlife. We were on a family holiday so our nights were spent at the hotel. There was always bingo, kids shows followed by adult music and entertainment. The pools are large and clean. The snack bar opened early as did the bar and we stayed at the pool til they closed around 6 every day. The snack bar offers the usual fried options of burgers, hot dogs & fries but also grilled chicken, some salad and lovely fresh fruit and bread. There was a relaxation & stretching class every morning by the pool to calming music and there is a masseuse there several times a week. I'm sorry I've forgotten your name but she was amazing! And cheap. We used the kids club most days from 10.30 to 1 and 3 -5. There was a shaded games area near the club and washers and dryers. For the price this hotel and staff offer a great product. Whatever issues we had were taken on board and corrected. On a negative note, and nothing to do with the hotel we were on a Thomas Cook package. To TC... your reps are abysmal...and that is being kind. When we were left with NO transfer to return to the airport they said they could arrange one (at an additional charge) and would leave the information in our room. We never heard from them. The day before departure we approached the Thomson rep. And he kindly put us on their shuttle next day. No charge!! Thomas Cook could take customer service lessons from him. To finish we are booked to return for another 2 weeks next Easter and cannot wait to enjoy the hotel and surrounding area again. We observed some atrocious behaviour during our stay including those who were rude to the staff trying to help, 6am sunbed hoggers (we always got a spot so this is unnecessary) and those who left unbelievable trash behind at the end of the day. But there are people like that everywhere. And in this case they were the minority. As a neat and clean freak who enjoys fresh food I can highly recommend Globales Taimamo Tropical...I hope our return visit is as enjoyable.Next time I will make a note of many more names and mention accordingly. So many of the staff deserve a special mention. Ignore any negative reviews and go and enjoy, especially if you have children. GREAT family holiday.
