Over exceeded expectations. Nothing at all to fault with the hotel, great staff, service, and locations. I’ve stayed in all inclusive before and this was better than any hotel. They even serve you your drinks in the buffet, and you don’t have to get up like normal all inclusive. We booked trips externally such as Siam Park and West Tenerife. Would 100% stay at the hotel again and already looking to go back. The room was so clean and room 433 had amazing views. Nothing to fault don’t believe everything bad you read!! Great first holiday with my boyfriend.
2nd visit to the hotel. 1st room allocated was on the 1st floor directly next to the refurbishment area, we ask for a different room straight away but was told hotel was full at this time and was put on list to be moved. following morning had a note through door letting us know a new room was available, we then moved to the 5th floor away from the refurbishment area. the service from the reception team was excellent. Although refurbishment was on going through the day it did not disturb in any way. Great service, rooms cleaned every day, wide choice of food available at all meals.
Just returned from a lovely week from our second time at barcelo santiago where we upgraded to a junior suite with hottub which exceeded our expectations we recommend 804 one of the best we ever stayed in. Great location, lovely views & friendly/helpful staff. Highly recommend we will be returning.
We stayed here for 10 nights the food was lovely and the views are stunning, rooms and some of the hotel was being refurbished but we didn’t really hear much noise. Surrounding areas are very steep in places. Pools and pool area always clean and well maintained and all staff were friendly
This hotel is absolutely fantastic. We arrived at about 9.40 on a Friday night and were greeted by polite and friendly reception staff. They informed us that the restaurant was closing in 15 minutes so rather than finish checking in, they held our bags and let us go enjoy a freshly cooked meal before continuing on up to our room. We got to the room and were initially a little disappointed. We think we had one of the rooms that hadn’t yet been refurbished. The bath was also dirty when we arrived which wasn’t great as we had wanted to shower. We called reception and they sent a cleaner up within 10 minutes who apologised and cleaned the bathroom again. After that, we got quite used to the room. It was clean and functional and bright. Though the floors could have been cleaner- they were quite dusty. The pillows were also a little tired and the picture on the tv malfunctioned sometimes. However, none of this was to the detriment of our stay. The bars, restaurant, pool were all fantastic. The waiting staff were all polite, friendly and really dedicated. We didn’t want for anything. The food was absolutely superb. Not sure why people keep saying it was a bit ‘samey’. There will always have to be certain staples that go out at every meal. Bit freshly griddled meat and fish, a gorgeous, fresh salad bar and a variety of hot tasty dishes are always mixed up and available. You can eat well at every meal and the food is delicious, fresh and there is great attention to hygiene. Really some Of the best food I’ve ever had on holiday. I ate mussels at every opportunity. They were enormous and so flavoursome. And there were steaks and tuna and all sorts. Try the wrinkled potatoes too. And the marzipan balls. Wow! The bar snacks were also really tasty. Try the ‘papas locas’ (cheese bacon fries) and the hot dog. All the All Inclusive snacks are marked on the bar menu with a ‘-‘ where a price would be written. Table service for the drinks is a really nice touch in the bar and restaurant. The pools are fantastic... a bit cold. Though I think the main pool in front of the lifeguard box is heated. The animation team are excellent, friendly and sweet but not at all pushy with the activities. The programme of activities throughout the day were really really fun. I’ve never done ‘pool bike’ before/ and they aqua Zumba was great too. It was a shame that in the second half of the week I couldn’t join in... I had fallen in town and cut my foot, which meant no more swimming. I would say this is a hotel aimed more at couples seeking somewhere quiet to relax. It’s not necessarily a family hotel, though families are certainly very welcome and there is a kids club if you need it. There weren’t many children though, and quite a lot of older guests. A younger demographic was coming in as we left. It really is a hotel that something for everyone. It is very classy. This is not a resort for wall to wall sunbathing and getting pissed. Though you can relax in the sun and drink some lovely cocktails. It is quite windy here, which is what we wanted. This isn’t maybe a place to Go if you want to sit in scorching heat and bake yourself. The canaries are known for being windy and we had some dramatic skies at the beginning of the week that made it a little cold. You feel wined and dined and can have a great, chilled out time. But it isn’t a snobby place either. Getting properly dressed up for dinner is optional. The views from the hotel are simply breathtaking. And it’s glorious to sit there in the evenings to look out to sea and watch the sun set behind the the island opposite. We didn’t take in the evening entertainment. A lot of what was on that week wasn’t really for us (or at least my fiance). The one show I did want to see was on on a night before we had to be up for an excursion so we didn’t bother. The programme for this week looks a bit more up our street. We did pop down to the theatre bar though and it was a nice set up down there. We didn’t use the spa either, but we will next time. We have never wanted to come back to any resort (not that they’ve all been bad- but we like trying new things). But we will absolutely be back here. Maybe not next year as we have other plans, but the year after for certain. Hopefully the refurb will be done by then and we can get a really nice room that reflects the rest of the standards of the hotel. For those travelling with TUI- this is the only hotel this side of the island with your own dedicated TUI Rep. the others do the rounds of a few hotels. Ours is Adam. He really is ace. We didn’t get the chance to take in all the excursions we wanted to do, but we will do that next time. Puerto de Santiago is quite a nice, small quiet place. The coastal walks from the hotel are fabulous in either direction. There is a sea pool that looks like it’s around the corner. It’s actually quite a walk but is very picturesque. It’s about 25 minutes walk into centre of Los Gigantes, which has loads of shops and bars and things. Very pleasant. You’re in a great place for going on a few of the trips too. There’s a lot to do on the island that you can’t pack it all in in one trip I really didn’t want to come home. I even shed a tear when we only had an hour left before leaving! We weren’t able to get a late check out on our room, but you can use the spa showers if needed and also the luggage room. The all inclusive wristband stays active until you leave so you can eat and drink right up until you leave for the last time. Thank you Barcelo team for a fantastic stay. We will be back.
Really enjoyed our stay here. The views are to die for. The pool area is beautiful. Food is very good with plenty to choose from and a lot being cooked fresh in front of you. WiFi is very good as every room has its own router. We are already considering returning very soon. Loses a point on location simply because there’s not a lot around the hotel really to do. Two half decent bars right opposite but anything else is a bit of a walk and any of the excursions are quite far away. The nearby beaches aren’t up to much either. But if all you want is an all-inclusive chilled holiday then look no further!
My husband and I came to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We came on the recommendation of friends. The location is amazing. The service we received was 1st class. The local area is lovely , but a little hilly . Our room was kept immaculately clean by the housekeeping staff. The restaurant staff were very attentive and the food very good too. Always lots of choice. The views from the hotel are amazing. I would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning.
The hotel location and views are amazing, room was clean and comfortable had a balcony overlooking the pool and ocean. A lot of construction happening on site. Food was meh, had all inclusive package but was limited to certain items or we had to pay and the drinks were only included until 11pm.
Very noisy at night staff not always helpful and unwilling to help pool bar staff quite rude.and would ignore you .Entertainment was poor and when water was bad there was nothing to do .don't think we will go back which is a sham as we had been before and it was great
My husband and I stayed at Barcelo Santiago last week. The hotel is great. It’s under refurbishment at the moment, we never heard any of the building works during our stay. Was super quiet and not over crowded. Staff are really friendly and helpful. It was my husbands birthday during our stay and they gave us a bottle of processco with our dinner and gave my husband a slice of fudge cake with a candle in it. (None of this was requested) Overall great stay and would highly recommend for couples and families.
