very good hotel with efficient staff and well kept grounds, comfortable rooms and good facilities, but with some small issues, no late check out although rooms were left empty all day, no Balinese bed service as stated, good location
I have just came back from a week away with my girlfriend and we were very impressed . It was our first holiday together and we are so happy we chose this hotel . They were a few faults we had including having to change rooms on the second day and we had cockroaches and a funny smell from the bathroom we had to get sorted . The only downfall of the hotel is the rooms are a bit plain but wow the view we had was breathtaking. The hotel was spotless , the staff are helpful the views are something you have never seen before , good food , good entertainment and all round a beautiful hotel. We found a great deal on the holiday so we were over the moon with our stay. You have the choice to do a lot of excursions around Tenerife too . We did Loro parque and was the best thing ever !
Overall a lovely hotel, great location and really friendly staff. The rooms were starting to show their age, outside lights not working, cracked tiles etc, but I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a good quality, but not too noisy hotel.
The views were amazing. There’s nothing to do outside the hotel. The receptionist are rude and 2 faced. Room 561 air con is BAD and they won’t fix it as they think 25c is acceptable and the roof leaks. The positives were the pool area and the views were amazing! The food had a good veriety.
With upward of 30 visits this property provides excellent facilities, food and service and is a fabulous place just to chill out and enjoy a holiday in beautiful Los Gigantes, looking forward to our next visit.
First time in Tenerife and was pleased with the hotel, the staff were very friendly. The room we were in hadn't been modernised but we preferred it to our first room as the toilet was not hidden by a glass panel so there was more space to move around. Beds were super comfy. Adequate wardrobe space. View was excellent looking out to sea and good sized balcony. Lovely quality towels in the room and for the pool. Only thing I didn't enjoy the food so much as I am vegetarian and there wasn't so much choice so ended up with salads most days. Bread was delicious though and a great choice of cheese. Desserts very much same each day.
My wife and I returned yesterday (16th Oct) after staying a week at the Barcelo Santiago. We had a "superior" room with a sea view and booked all inclusive. The views from the room and grounds are truly exceptional and would rate as the best we have ever had on holiday, mainly because most of the balconies and all of the grounds safety barriers are made from glass panels. The hotel is on an elevated position right next to the spectacular "Los Gigantes" cliffs. The standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel is very high with an army of (very pleasant) cleaners toiling day and night. The grounds are very well kept and nicely landscaped. We spent most of our time at the excellent "infinity" pool so cannot comment on the other pool which admittedly looked equally as good. At no time was there a shortage of sunbeds. Despite guests "booking" beds with their towels from 7am we were able to get loungers in a good spot as late as 2pm. The hotel was full. The rooms are quite odd. Odd because they don`t really live up to the rest of the hotel. They are quite tired as a result of not being included in any maintenance schedule as they should be. Instead the hotels acts (very quickly) to any complaints made. We had maintenance out to unclog the bathroom sink and our neighbour had to take a list of jobs that needed doing to reception. As I said, complaints are dealt with quickly but people will remember that they had to complain and will be less likely to return. A simple maintenance inspection when the room is vacated would create a much better impression. Air con was poor. Shower in the bath seems outdated and a cubicle would have been far better. First place we have been to that did not have a table on the patio (??). Beds were very comfortable. Restaurant facilities were OK but if you wanted to sit outside on the patio there was always a large queue. Food was varied with a reasonable selection but was by no means inspiring and is best described as adequate (god, did I miss mash). The bars throughout the hotel are run well, at no time did we queue for longer than 3 minutes. At times the staff at the pool bar could be described as abrupt but I put this down to the pressure placed on them to keep queues down to a minimum (Christian you were a diamond, thank you for faultless service). The local lager "Dorada" was far better than some of the all inclusive rubbish we have had. We cannot comment on the entertainment as we try to steer clear of shows provided by dedicated entertainments teams, while we were there there was a Michael Jackson tribute, Queen tribute, The lion king, 70`s disco and a magician. Would we go back ?....yes, but not until the rooms are refurbished or properly maintained. We have had much cheaper holidays with far better rooms than this. If we did go back it would probably be self catering. There are still places where you can eat all you like for less than 8 euros and you can get a pint for 1 euro. Top tips..turn right out of reception and take a 1 minute walk to the "Abundia" Italian restaurant next to the cash point. Fantastic food and service. Turn left out of reception and follow signs for Los Gigantes and after a 20 minute walk you will reach the harbour, loads of great shops, bars and restaurants. There is a trip / excursion shop just opposite the hotel where you can book all the activities offered by your tour operator at a cheaper price.
This is my sixth stay at this hotel and I have never been disappointed. The views and location are great. I have always found the rooms very clean and comfortable. There is a large choice of food. The service is excellent and the staff are a credit to this hotel. There is a nightly entertainment program. A great holiday experience again
Really enjoy staying in Barceló Santiago in October,2017. Only few minor thing - no bins in the room , safe door fell in pieces . We would love to come back for holiday again . Staff was very nice . Hate to check out the next day and check in to stay in different room .
Location location location. Amazing view of Los Gigantes dolphins etc. Rooms are bit tired but good value for money and service very good. Great for a weeks break . Restaurant large and could be noisy but waitress service was good.
