We stayed for 11 nights on a half board basis as a family of four, our children are 10 and 14 years old. We all very much enjoyed all that the Barcelo Santiago has to offer. We felt that the buffet was varied and kept us engaged, we ate dinner 9 nights out of 11 and only eating out on the other two as we were meeting friends. We found the restaurant comfortable at 7.30pm with very little queueing required. The rooms were spotless and well tended. The only drawback being no interconnecting rooms. Many of the staff are excellent, going out of their way to help you. We will be back and are missing the view already...

Plus points Fantastic views to die for from sunbed, restaurant, pools and most bedrooms Cliff top setting Large buffet restaurant capacity and some outside seating. Enthusiastic animation team Tennis courts gym pools spa etc Not so good Windy position at pool if weather is at all windy Buffet good choice but food a bit boring and repetitive. Not sure I could have done a fortnight. Not up to scratch Waiter and bar service. Felt as if you were asking them a favour to serve you no matter how polite or if you tried to speak Spanish. Worst service from any Canarian hotel 4 star to date. Building work. Drilling of patio tiles starts at 8am bright and early and can be heard from.many bedrooms, pool area, pool bar and sun lounger. All inclusive isn't all inclusive. You can get by if you don't want a Room safe, pool towels, certain meals and drinks, tea making facilities and mini bar in room. Safe 21 euros a week as is kettle and tea facilities. Deposit for towel and then 2 euros cost to change it every time. Many cocktails about 4 euros unless you select from limited list. House wine (ok) otherwise a min of about 11 euros a bottle. Would i personally return? No. Despite the views there are better hotels for the same or less money and loads better service.

We love this hotel and have been 3 times now. The views from the rooms, pool area and restaurant are stunning. The waves crashing on the rocks below are amazing. The staff are generally friendly. Smile of the animation team always finds a way of making you smile. If immaculate decor is your thing it may not be for you. They're in the process of renovating a wing of the hotel at the mo which caused some issues with noise and less than ideal room juggling this time - check if this is planned whilst you are staying and ask for a room is not near this and all should be good. I'm sure we'll be back despite a few hiccups this time that knocked the service rating down a notch.

Thank you for an excellent stay. The views were fantastic from out room and the service matched. Food was varied and of a high quality. The staff were welcoming and kind and brilliant with our son. Thank you for a great stay.

Hotel was really by the sea with only a footpath between it and the rocks. Unusual layout with most rooms below the pools area and restaurant. Excellent pool area with only glass panel at the edge of the area. Good bar area. Restaurant operates a self service system, can be overwhelming when all guests are feeding(several hundred). Room pleasant with view to sea. Desk needs update(said to be in hand) Service swift. 2 Tui .personnel on hand and arranged an excellent trip 'Teide by night'. Evening entertainment variable.

From our first communication, and prompt response from Antonio I had a feeling we had made the right decision for our first holiday since we married. I had already stayed at the Barcelo Teguise with my son a few years ago and was impressed to say the least (read my review) From the moment we stepped inside the hotel we have been made feel like real GUESTS! We were handed a welcome drink, the reception staff had all our paperwork ready and had us checked in in no time at all! Johnathan the porter, insisted he carry our bags, a gentleman, and in the short time it took to reach our room , had told us all we needed to know to make our stay even more enjoyable, The staff are Impeccable! The food is impeccable! The pools are impeccable, Isabel keeps our room impeccable, We are still here and really looking forward to returning next year, The sight had advised there is redecorating works here presently, and we might here some of the work, to be honest, being beside the ocean and hearing the wonderful clean water lapping against the rocks, it’s very hard to tell there’s anything other than customer service work is being carried out! Well done team Barcelo !! Again, And thanks for everything!!

Our third visit here. Reasons to love the hotel... Location and animations. Stunning spot with gorgeous views. The animations team are just brilliant. Lovely fun people who really make the holiday. The food is good in my opinion. Plenty of variety and great waiting staff. The rooms do need improving however. They are looking tired. The refurbishment will bring it back to a 5 star for me.

Would definitely book again. My boyfriend and I (both 24) really enjoyed this hotel. There was a great selection of loungers to choose from, the fact that there was some round the corner from the pool where most of the children were was a bonus- as well as the lovely view out towards the sea with glass panel wall. Loved being all inclusive and able to get a great selection of drinks and food during the day, and great selection for all main meals. Night time entertainment was to be as expected but something to do, in addition to sunset walks. The sunset was amazing from the hotel. Really peaceful surroundings, able to leave the building and go fro a nice walk along the promenade, towards the local beach. One day we took a walk into the local town however it was far too hot to actually walk very far (and there was quite a steep hill).

This holiday was a birthday gift from and with my family. It exceeded all expectations and we would definitely visit this hotel again. The only downside for me (being the eldest in our group) was that it was a bit hilly in some places but it would not put me off going back again.

Very good food variety cooked fresh daily, always sunbeds available. The hotel rooms balcony view was amazing. Restaurants near by are very good too. Staff are helpful and welcoming. Rooms are cleaned daily very well. Air conditioning in rooms was good. Overall cannot complain about a very good value holiday.Would recommend.
