This was by far the best Holiday Inn ive ever stayed at. It away from the noise but close enough that you can still walk to great shopping areas. The was awsome. They helped with all my little needs and questions. The breakfast menus were delecious and well prepared.
Stayed in the corner room on the top floor. Plenty of space and wide bed but the bed was too hard for my liking. The bathroom also has an unusual design where bathroom door also acts as the shower door so might be a problem depending on who you stay with. On the other hand, nothing to complain about the staffs. Those manning the front desk were courteous and helpful in giving direction and answering my questions. Being in Taiwan, it's not difficult to find cheap food around, including vegetarian, but if you choose to eat in the hotel, the free breakfast provided was decent. It took me 45 minutes & NT$32 by bus from the airport and 25 minutes & NT$450 by taxi to the airport on Monday morning (there was some traffic both ways). I think HIX Taoyuan serves as a good alternative to the airport hotels, but I might look for hotels near Taipei Main Station next time considering it takes less than 40 min by train to visit the city.
Taoyuan doesn't get many Western visitors and so few of the normal hotel chains are present. We chose the Holiday Inn Express as it was near the people we were visiting. It was a good choice. The room was clean and had everything we wanted. The staff were excellent and most spoke reasonable English (which is pretty rare in Taoyuan). The breakfast buffet had enough Western staples to fit the bill. And the price at around £55 a night for two people was very fair indeed. I can't say we'll be rushing back to Taoyuan in the middle of their wet winter, but if we do return we'll certainly happily book into the Holiday Inn Express again.
Clean and comfortable hotel, easy to reach from Taoyuan international airport or from Taipei. We were passing through Taipei on a trip through Asia and stayed two nights. We requested early check in and were accommodated, our room was satisfactory. We didn’t expect a five star room but it was certainly comfortable. We had one small issue with our room and the staff was so prompt in addressing the issue. They went above and beyond, the service here was better than many 5 star properties I’ve stayed at. Many of the staff speak fluent English. Thanks to the impressive staff of the Holiday Inn Express I can highly recommend this hotel.
Taoyuan City is a 45-minutes bus ride to the MRT Main Station in Taipei. But since most (if not all) of the hotels at Taipei were fully booked for the New Year holiday, we went for the next best thing, Holiday Inn Taoyuan. It is a little far from all the adventures (shopping, tourist spots and what not). Buses, trains or taxi cabs have to be taken to get us to places. But it all seemed easy only because of the hotel staff at the reception who are extremely accommodating and kind. Yes, they speak good English, and they go out of their way to answer very meticulous questions from their guests on how to ride buses to get to MRT stations, write on notepads their Chinese translations of the bus routes that can be presented to the drivers upon boarding, estimate fare cost, and even give us details on how to get back to the hotel. The patience level of these staff are super high. Special mention to Yuri, who tirelessly served our every query. And our 5D 4N stay was even better, as we were given the topmost corner room with a wide glass window overlooking the city and mountain view. Bed was divine, and room temperature adjusted to warm, as it was freezing cold at Taiwan during the holidays. Breakfast was good, though entree selection is just enough for one to have a hearty heavy meal. Over all, this hotel and their staff is a great choice to stay when at Taiwan. They certainly know how to make their guests feel at home...
The rooms are so small that after putting just 2 suitcases in a twin room there was no space to walk. everything is self service. to be fair while checking in the receptionist handed over towels, toileteries, slippers etc. The bathroom is also pretty compact and has no locks and is difficult to use it properly. Breakfast also had very selected items.
Total 9 nights at Holiday Inn Express Taoyuan, Taiwan. Staff's very friendly and very helpful at check in, check out.' I am very happy with the staff at the Breakfast time, she has the good attitude, also the good quality of the food at the Breakfast. Pleases to recommend to stay here.
This hotel has been our (family) home for the past 3 days of our stay in Taiwan. We booked 2 rooms, and it's all good and clean, & the complete toiletries to top it all! The staff are very friendly and helpful in giving information on what's around the area like about the transportation and where to go. Also, I want to commend Kyle for giving his best to assist us every night especially on our first night when we arrived at almost 5 am. Thanks for taking care of us!
Situated in downtown about 25 mins drive from the airport, and taxi fare approx 400 Taiwan dollars.you can add this to your room bill going back, if you don’t want local cash left over. Yuri Cheng on the front desk at check in was excellent, and very helpful during my stay (a real asset to the hotel). Upgraded to a high floor room overlooking the city, with large comfortable bed and clean linens and towels. Large room safe, good WiFi signal, efficient aircon/heating. Desk area with plenty of plug sockets. Shower powerful. Water provided. Didn’t have breakfast, but the Quesadillas were pretty good for a snack and cheap. The small cans of beer in the hotel were extortionate, so only had one. Bot really sure about the location as didn’t venture further than the nearby 7-11 shop (cash only but atm in the shop), but was very handy and a good cheap option for the airport. Would definitely return.
I checked in at around 1:30 am on 25 Nov 2017 due to late arrival of aircraft. The check in staff asked if I needed transport to the Airport, the breakfast time and so on. I just told the staff that I won't have time for breakfast because I have to take another flight in a few hours later as early as at 5:00a.m. The staff was helpful in entertaining my request earlier by giving me a room near the elevator. So, I didn't have to take a long walk to the room after a tiring flight and I got a good rest. Upon my checked out early in the morning, I met the same check-in staff again. My taxi was ready and he was so attentive that he prepared a packed breakfast for me for take away to the airport. This was to my great surprise as I originally thought that I would have to skip my breakfast because no restaurant would be open in such early in the morning, I was truly grateful for his attentiveness. For the facilities, the room has all the toiletries that travellers needed (I particularly appreciated that the room has thin towels for washing faces) I highly recommend this hotel for those who want to make a brief transit at Taipei Airport. Despite the location is a little further away from the airport, the hotel's price is much more worthy than the so-called "Airport Hotel" and the service is superior.
