OK hotel, close to the cathedral. The common areas are a bit better than the rooms.

This hotel is very close to Reims Catholic Cathedral (a very historical church where all the kings of France were crowned - wonderfully restored after the WWars with the help of some Rockafeller money -and even has some Marc Chagall stained-glass windows). It was about a 10 minute walk to the Cathedral. We actually attended mass there on Easter. This hotel is also walking distance from the train station (about 20 minutes) and to the champagne tours (also around 20 minutes). This is a very nice city, hotel and sites. Did you know there are supposedly 2000 chalk caves around Reims (and my husband the geologist confirmed this) that were created by the Romans - they are now the cellars of the fine champagne houses - very interesting - also worth seeing..

The rooms were modern and spacious. The room that we stayed in was right by the canal with beautiful views. However, we were woken up each night by drunk people on the street so that was a downfall. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Pretty nice hotel. Front desk staff was good, bar staff barely spoke enough English to take our bar orders. The rooms were nice, but the bed was very hard and the pillows were not very comfortable. decent location to the cathedral area. Easy to get to. Nice enough hotel, but just not as nice as I expect from a Mercure hotel.
