First of all, this hotel looks exactly opposite of what it looks like photos. In photos it looks amazing but in reality the place is extremely old. There are stains and cracks in the washroom floors, doors and walls. They have a nice jacuzzi which faces a what appears to be a huge untinted window on the THIRD floor facing a bridge. Also, they probably have the worst breakfast options and quality for a four star hotel too. I love to eat and is a huge fan of breakfast buffets but this one I swear was worse than a 3 star hotel's breakfast buffet! Furthermore, we booked and PAID for four 3 person rooms but when they found out we were only 9, they gave us three 2 person rooms and one 3 person rooms instead (which are actually cheaper and smaller). Lastly, I've been travelling for 24 years now and Ive stayed in many different hotels but this is the first hotel in my life that charges for room keys! My friend lost her room key in a night out and was forced to pay around 20USD for a replacement! Their "reason" is that they need to replace ALL their keys when they lose one key because they all apparently have special codes. With that said, my suggestion is NEVER stay at this hotel.
Wonderful stay! We love the interior design of the hotel for twin room. Very suitable for 2 girls as the washroom design suitable to cater for 2 ladies grooming at the same time (Front & Back ) Amazing !! Except one day we put off the DND light thought room will be cleaned but didn't ...maybe our handle of "clean my room later" were also hanged... The bar was super quiet almost never seen any people under the lobby bar...Although there were supposed complimentary drinks but we had never tried since we came back around 23:00 night.
Service, location, environments, facility for this price, it's Highly recommend. Even tho it's a 9 years hotel, it's still clean inside. Again, for this price, you won't get a better hotel in town I assume. Just a minus, a little little little cigarettes smell inside the room, but it's bearable. Jacuzzi is amazing! Will come back again for sure!
We stayed 19-21 May 2017. The hotel is 8 years old and it appears that no work has been done to maintain it. Peeling wallpaper in the corridors, paintwork fading and dirty, carpets wearing thin. The room was on the 7th floor and was surprisingly large. However hanging space and clothes draws was inadequate. A towel rail would have helped. Like the corridor the room needed a good makeover. Locals told me that it was once the place to be at. Not now. On the plus side the staff were great providing friendly and courteous service. Full marks to Owen.
This Hotel was recommended by a local Taiwan Friend so we booked this . This is nicely located to be close to the CBD of Taipei . The hotel rooms are large and I will surely get my Wife next time as they are very honeymooners like with beautiful lighting and Jacuzzi in the room . The hotel staff was also very considerate we asked the receptionist about veggie restaurants for lunch she recommended is to a very nice place close to 7/11 nearby . Then She enquired if I was vegetarian. When I said yes she said don't worry for tomorrow . Next 2 days during breakfast the Chef made a special vegetarian dish for me for breakfast . It was very impressive to take care so personally . The staff is friendly and Ensure they get you the taxi and instruct the taxi Drivers as English is an issue in Taipei . I will surely stay next time and recommend this Hotel .
The room is relatively big in Taipei, comfy bed for rest with big bathtub. The quality of service is high especially with this bargain room price! I was there for two nights for business trip, the location is not far from Xinyi shopping district, only 5 mins walk to the nearest station and another 10-15mins to tower101 station. Bonus thing is they offer one free drinks/cocktails every night, I've order their signature cocktail and it's great way to relax after a busy day. I will definitely come back this hotel for my next Taipei visit!
Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in early December. For a mid-range hotel it's actually pretty good value for money. The Pros: The room is very spacious, clean and comfortable, the design is cute and interesting. The big attraction are the in-room spa: the shower room can turn into a steam room in minutes, and there is a huge jacuzzi in the room big enough for more than 2 people. The staff are friendly and helpful, and 1 free drink was offered to each guest daily. The so-sos: The location is not close to any shopping areas or restaurant districts, It's convenient enough that it is within 5-7 minutes walk to the subway, but you have to walk 15 minutes to major shopping areas (Sogo and Breeze). The breakfast is decent but of limited variety. The downsides: The fancy design of the glass panel that incorporates the TV and a large black mirror facing the bed is not the most practical, when you are using the face basin to wash up, shave and brush your teeth, you can barely catch a glimpse of yourself in the darkened reflection of the glass. It's also close to a few major highway intersections and the sound-proofing is fairly poor in the room, so it's pretty noisy late into the night. The air-conditioning also does not seem to work very well as our room remains fairly cold despite adjusting for temperature. There is also no gym or pool or other facilities. Despite these minor shortcomings, we still feel fairly positive about the stay and feel that it's reasonable good value for money.
The Hotel Eight Zone was a stylish, pleasant surprise. We were offered an upgraded room at no charge, and the room was large and very comfortable with an outstanding shower and bathtub, and nice views. My only complaint is that the seating area consisted of cushions with backs that sat directly on a raised platform, and the platform was squeaky and seemed close to breaking in parts. I would have preferred a sofa or more standard chair. The hotel is hip and the staff young and friendly. The breakfast was adequate and included in our room rate. An MTR metro stop is 1-2 blocks away, so getting around the city was easy.
Have heard of this hotel for some time from my friend's photos in Facebook. Intrigued by the light shining on the bed and the designs of their room. So I'd booked a room for 4 nights with Eight Zone for my recent trip to Taipei. Location wise is pretty accessible for me, a couple of minutes walk from Zhongxiao Xinsheng station, which is an interchange for the 2 lines so you are well connected within the city. Eight Zone is also located very near to a good cafe call "Paper St" and "Huashan cultural central" which hosts a number of exhibitions and performances. Check in at the front desk was quick and simple, and was given a room on the highest floor which has a pretty good view of the city. Room was spacious, although I would have expected a room with fancy design rather than a clean and simple room. The bed was very big, but mattress was too soft for my liking. The bathroom is somewhat half the size of the room, which is big enough to fit in another bed in the bathroom! Shower amenities were simple and straightforward, no fancy brands but just some dispensers for shower and shampoo. I didn't get the breakfast as there are ample Breakfast shops around. And the famous 阜杭豆漿 (Fu Hang soya bean) is just few minutes walk from the hotel. But I love the complimentary cocktail drink for each guest per night stay, great way to end the day at the lobby. Overall a pretty good hotel to stay if you want to venture out of the touristy Ximending area in Taipei.
the suite upgrade was the best thing happened to me this trip!!!! highly recommended because the master suite is as awesome design & comfort like 5 star hotel!!!! and mr. Owen at front desk will take great care of you on the drinks!!!
