Stayed overnight for a whirlwind trip...easy to get to, very comfortable and clean. Good breakfast and friendly staff. A very good option for all travelers. Well within walking distance to Central station which really helps

Great hotel....we stayed for one night and found it very clean & tidy, central, helpful staff and an excellent café for breakfast and coffee. Easy to find and access in Sydney also good parking. A great variety of restaurants in easy/safe walking distance

Stayed here for a week and the customer service was good and hospitable. We had an initial problem that there was a slight sewerage smell upon entering our room which we thought would go away but after 3 days we raised it with management who organised for the maintenance team to have a look whilst we were out. They were able to get rid of the smell (which included leaving our windows slightly open contrary to the signage to close all windows). The room was clean and a little bit cosy. My biggest issue is the security system are old fashioned lock and key which means you can't have multiple keys to a room, and you also have to remember to lock the door when you leave (and when you get back to the room). The room key is also used for the after hours entry door which we had trouble opening a few times and found other guests had the same issue. I assume it's to do with having a "master" lock that accepts all room keys can be a bit particular to get working. Just beware! The location was easy to get ubers within 5 minutes and is about 20 mins walk from QVB and the central areas.

Really enjoyed my one night stay here. Very comfortable and quiet room, and a great breakfast. Also very reasonable overnight parking rate in a nearby building. The thing that really distinguishes the Vulcan from most other hotels is the homely atmosphere with the staff being very friendly and making one feel very welcome. It is an older establishment so if you like very modern furniture and shiny fittings, this may not be the place for you.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my little one whilst in Sydney. Lovely little hotel. Couldnt fault it. Quiet, close to everything, clean and great breaky. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting Sydney.

They are serious about the 2 adults to a room policy. We had to book a separate room for our other adult traveler--even though we were family. The beds are comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. Breakfast was AMAZING--and the happy hour was good as well. Expect the rooms to be smaller than US rooms. They used real keys--like a real key on a key ring not a key card, you had to make sure to actually lock your door when you left the room. Overall a good stay.

Flew down for a live show from Coffs Harbour. Pleasantly surprised, Friendly, helpful service at check in. Mini bar fridge well stocked. Close and handy to shops restaurants, and Entertainment Centre.

Had a stay at the Vulcan while visiting Sydney to see the play Kinky Boots. What a lovely hotel with helpful staff. Close to Chinatown and easy walking. Would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended

Loved this funky boutique hotel. It is in easy reach of central station and the surrounding area is a mix of trendy old terrace houses and inner city development. UTS is handy & it's a short walk to Darling Harbour. It is a safe, clean area and fun to explore places like Spice Alley. The restaurant at the Vulcan has lovely food and friendly staff. Highly recommended if you want to avoid the typical chain hotels.

The rooms were really comfortable with refrigerators and a mini bar which is a rarity anymore. The neighborhood was quiet and just a short walk to a major thoroughfare with shops and restaurants. Spice Alley, a row of Asian restaurants only a few blocks from the hotel, was a nice surprise with great atmosphere and outdoor seating. The front desk staff could not have been any friendlier or more helpful. Really pleasant to be interact with. Internet was fast and reliable and worked well in the room. I would stay here again.
