I booked two rooms, both don't have working heaters, and this is winter time. We could not sleep at nights.

Clean room, quiet, free parking. Free internet in lobby a plus.

Booked this hotel for 3 nights as my appointments were located in Rockdale area south of Sydney. Hotel is circa 1970's built on top of the Bankstown Sports Club which is effectively a large pokie machine gambler's heaven with several good restaurants onsite with great value Italian, good old aussie bistro and chinese. Hotel caters for busload of tourists from China daily. Lots of local aussies staying as well. Casino machines open till 6am for hardcore gamblers. Lots of taxis. Conveniently located 2 minutes from the train station in a working class area with lots of migrants...Lebanese, Vietnamese and some Chinese. Even the local pub meals are heavily Asian influenced. Basically eat at the Sports Club/ Hotel if you want roast of the day, pie, fish and chips or a decent steak otherwise the usual cheaper fare of noodles or Asian roast cafes. Bottle shop onsite until 11pm. Vending stations on each floor. Friendly safe area. Rooms are non smoking and windows sealed to stop unhappy losers jumping ! Parking is free but a hassle as the complex is very full on weekends. They provide a free golf buggy shuttle to your car spot. Lots of parking. Entry to hotel from carpark is basic and easy. Lifts to rooms are separate. Very friendly doormen. Rooms are standard Travelodge fare. Wifi fees apply. Did not see a safe. I happened to forget an expensive personal item and it was handed in by the cleaners. The management agreed to charge postage back to Melbourne on my credit card details which I provided at check in. Overall efficient, very honest staff. Would happily stay there again. Did not use room service so I cannot comment. For the price...great value. No pool or gym...may not suit those with kids.

I recently went on vacation for two weeks in Australia and stayed at the Travelodge Bankstown. The room was clean and confortable, the staff was friendly and courteous, and overall it was a great experience. My only disappointments were the choice of TV channels was very limited, and there was also no ice bucket in the room if you wanted to get ice from the ice maker. The hotel was just a short walk from the Bankstown CityRail station, and you could hop on the train and be in downtown Sydney is 35-40 minutes.

Hotel room itself was nice, clean, spacious enough and comfortable. it was quiet and pleasant. however, the location is about an HOUR train ride away from the city center, making it extremely inconvenient. also, the hotel is housed with a casino - and not classy vegas style, but dirthole Old vegas style. plus the lobby always smelled like skunk. We chose this place because it was the cheapest place we could find during the peak new year season. Again, service and room itself were fine, but location and building make this an unattractive choice.

God value, part of a sports club, i.e, casino type gambling with strict rules, good dining. Close to Sydney rail station 'Bankstown'.

Nice clean rooms, internet access way too expensive. Was more a casino, restuarant complex as a hotel. Nice place if everything in the more popular areas of Sydney are totally booked.
