St.Marks was easy to find, well presented, staff were very polite, the room was well appointed with good facilities, very neat and clean, and best of all it was quiet, meaning I had a good night's sleep. I will definitely stay here again.
Recently staid for business. It is a new facility in a very good location of Sydney with good ratio qualty/price. Beach is not far, as well as restaurants and cafes. Room clean and friendly staff. Nothing to complain.
The private courtyard with seating to enjoy was fantastic for eating a meal outside and taking in the warm weather. Very homey and comfortable. They had a good clean portacot for our 2 month to sleep in, and they allowed us to check in 2 hours early, had the porta cot waiting for us when we got in the room. Very happy with our stay.
We stayed at this lodge 3 years ago and it was fine. We even recommended it to friends seeking basic accommodation in a quiet neighbourhood within reach of lovely Coogee beach by foot and the best of Sydney by bus. This time was subpar. We were given a room on the ground floor, one room away from reception. A strong musty smell hit us as soon as we entered the room. It may have been the obviously mouldy bathroom tiles or it could have been cigarette smoke. We were immediately offered a room upstairs, where we had previously enjoyed a good stay. But the second room had the same musty smoky smell, although not quite as strongly. The bed was clean but again the bathroom was pretty dirty and had an advanced growth of black mould. 'Fully booked', reception said, so there was nothing to be done. We left the windows wide open and the fan on but in short this is not good enough. It's sad to say that the benefits of the recent renovations have faded too quickly. I hope they can save it by more cleaning, new silicon sealant and perhaps re-grouting. Eliminating all cigarette smoking from the property would also help. In our view, a filthy bathroom is a dealbreaker and not value at any price and this place not cheap.
This lodge is very handy to the city bus and not far from Coogee Beach. There are shops and restaurants close by. Be aware that this area is quite hilly and the hills are steep. So if you're not driving, you would need to be fit. The receptionist was very helpful and the staff were friendly. Our room was quite spacious and reasonable value for money. The bed was OK and the facilities were adeqate. **The parking is very limited. ** There was no mirror in the bathroom (Room 110) and the water in the shower wouldn't run away as the plug hole was up-hill. We would be happy to stay there again. (Perhaps in a different room)
'St Marks lodge' is one of the ' Sydney lodges' and is located in the suburb called Randwick approx 50 mins by bus from Sydney airport. Randwick has plenty to offer , is easy to to get around with shops, restaurants, hospitasl,racing course and the lovely Coogee beach and seafront all within various walking distances. The lodge itself is easily accessed,quiet area,spacious rooms with tea-making facilities, fridge and small communal kitchenette , air conditioning, most comfortable for sleeping in 43.3 degrees !! There is a nice patio area, and a general air of calm and peace.Would definately recommend.
Stayed here for 10 days, price was very good compared to those in the city. It said rooms had been done up, but new bed was hard, nice small room though with air conditioning and ceiling fan, fridge, tea/coffee & good shower. Maid came in every other day to change towels etc and make bed which was fine.WiFi was good. Quiet room until last few days when new people came into room next door playing music very loud so room vibrated and they continually shouted, presumably trying to talk above music! Made it impossible to sleep, we reported it to reception next morning and was told all people are different, there is nothing we can do !! I know other hotels I have stayed in would have warned them or thrown them out. Quiet location and short walk to restaurants etc and bus into city.
My business partner booked a room for 2 we arrived to only a single room, single bed, 1 towel. We rang and messaged the “emergency contact” and got no response 3 hours later. Would not recommend wouldn’t stay again.
Small clean room, small double bed. After requesting a ground floor room as I have mobility issues, I was told I was on the top floor. There was no understanding or effort made to meet those needs. One problem with room was there was a bedside lamp and no power point to plug it into! There was a battery operated clock.
The room was quite, clean and good size. You have coin machine to laundry your clothes. Nice neighborhood. 20-25 min walking from UNSW or Coogee. The only small thing is that wifi is limited to 500MB/day. But I really recommend the property.
