It's a very nice and clean room and a good location. But the service is terrible. I've forgot my watch and I've been trying to contact them by phone and emails since I left the hotel on 16/02 and haven't got any respond.

The room needed a thorough clean! Foreign hair was throughout the bathroom. (yuk) The kitchen was a bit grimy. It was cheap by way of comparison to other accomodation and the location was handy. Not sure would stay there again.

Booked Randwick Space given its proximately to the Sydney Children's Hospital. Received confirmation email to confirm two nights stay. Post visiting hospital we tried to check into this hotel. Spent 40 minutes trying to call after a very stressful day. Finally contacted a customer service rep via the online chat function on their website. They advised we couldn't find the hotel because it wasn't taking bookings at this time! It was 6pm at night, and luckily we found a room near the airport, but this was far from ideal given we wanted to be close to the hospital. The hotel refunded my money, but I'm alarmed to see rooms still being offered via their website and general booking sites. Terrible experience, and hope to prevent someone else doing the same!

I had a great stay at Randwick Space, you get what you pay for which is a clean room in a safe and clean building - centrally located with numerous bus connections to the city, friendly staff and a peaceful nights sleep! The staff recommended some great restaurants to me, which I would not have found otherwise - they are within 5 mins walk from the hotel. I paid $85 for my room and received a complimentary upgrade to an ensuite room which was great - but for $85 a night in Sydney that is not a backpackers, you really cannot complain.

Had a 7 hour mid night flight from Singapore to Sydney. We arrived at the reception office for check in and was informed the rooms were overbooked. Apparently they receive an email from Expedia regarding our booking but was overlooked and the staff didn't book us for our 3 nights stay. Staff wasn't helpful and even said that he was unable to help as all rooms are taken already. He told us not to worry as they won't be charging us. Being in a foreign country, without a shelter over our head, it's no longer a matter of being charged for the stay. When we asked for WiFi access so that we can look for other alternative, the staff just mentioned that it's chargeable. In the end, we had to call a friend who lives in Sydney for help. Lucky us, that we had friends there. I wouldn't recommend this place. If the staff isn't helpful especially when they were at fault and totally not apologetic, then I would rather stay in another accommodation.

I stayed here for 5 nights in December. The staff were friendly and helpful, and when I asked to change rooms (due to the noise of the road), they helped out. The rooms with a bathroom are fine, although the beds are incredibly hard. Generally very clean, with weekly room cleaning (not daily). There is no air-conditioning and limited air flow, so choose the time of year wisely.

Best to say about so called hotel was to leave after 3 nights, hotel was booked in my wifes name check in said at 2pm took till 4.30 pm as room was not ready, construction work like drilling, hammering, sawing etc. going on woke us at 7am in the morning on new years eve, construction works going on all over the place,we had to step over cables,tools and workers to be able to get our things out of the fridge and our suitcases down the stairs, room was tiny, it had bed and desk but no chair, described "communal kitchen area" consisted of communal fridge and stove and sink, no plates,cups, pans, coffee or tea facility, no information from reception about city or map available, hotel also screwed up booking from my friends who booked double room with ensuite and got twin room with shared bathroom and after some discussion double room with shared bathroom apparently they were fully booked ( we booked 6 months in advance), strangely enough the guy before us got an upgrade to a double room with ensuite !!! on top of that the magnetic card for the room didn't work several times after we came home and they had to call and wait for reception staff to arrive and open room door. No A/C only noise fan. Every YHA is better managed, organised and equipped. Never again.

We stayed at Randwick Space for 9 days, as we had found it to be the cheapest accommodation over the New Year period (this was still an EXTORTINATE price for what we got). This ISN'T a hotel-it is a quick way for a university to make an extra $1000 a week-per room. When we arrived the receptionist was polite but clearly hadn't been provided the training she would require for hotel guests. Our room was pleasant enough, a small double room with en suite and balcony. However with no air conditioning sleeping was difficult-and we were also woken for 2 days by loud banging and shouting. This turned out to be carpet layers, renovating a few of the rooms. No warning or apology was given for this-and so it was a ride awakening. This "hotel" also advertised itself as having shared "kitchenettes"-another lie. There was hot water, fridges and microwaves available.This meant it added to our weekly cost-already an extortionate $1000 for the week-we then had to eat out alot more than planned as there was no way to self cater for ourselves. In addition to this, for more simple meals such breakfast there was NO cutlery or crockery. We asked the reception staff to provide us with this basic need, and were told that they would look for us, but that "we don't normally do this". A peculiar response when the hotel implies it is a self catering accommodation, and also an odd response when in my experience "the customer is always right". The reception staff made us feel like she was doing us a "favour". Further more, when later in the week I accidentally lost a belonging over the balcony edge due to strong wind, my partner asked reception staff if he could collect this item, this was declined, and the staff said they would arrange this with their manager-this however did not occur and my partner felt that everytime he asked the staff about this matter they smirked and were not taking him seriously. Whether it was a receipt to a more valuable posession such as a necklace I believe a customer should be treated with the same level of respect. Overall we felt hugely disappointed with or stay and would not recommend this "hotel" to anyone. I feel if the college want to continue to take people's money they need to vastly improve their services. I hope to hear from the manager with at the very least an apology for the poor service.

I stayed here over Christmas/NYE. Basically you get what you pay for. At first I wasnt that happy but the receptionist who worked during the holiday period (skinny tanned girl) was amazing. She made me and my family feel at home and so the experience was overall pleasant.

After staying at a few hostels and b & bs in Sydney, finding this place was great. In Sydney, accommodation is expensive and all the decent places-for decent prices are booked out very quickly. Randwick Space are student halls that they rent out for the summer so you share toilet and shower facilities but they are cleaner and more modern than most hostels. The location is good, you're a short bus ride away from the city centre. Most buses leave for the city from the main street a couple mins walk away. You are also very close to Surrey Hills where you can find popular bars and restaurants, again a short bus ride away. There are also lots of restaurants and shops near by, walking distance. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, quiet place to visit Sydney from.
