Has been said by many other reviewers, so not saying anything new here - great location right next to Hyde Park and therefore walking distance from everywhere, but definitely needs some serious work - rooms and furnishings are very old. Still, good value for money given the location

price is right ... nothing else if you are a traditional overseas traveller. the location at the seedier end of Oxford Streeet is close to Sydney's Central Business District. hotel's limited service produces filth, mould, etc. over time. OK if you just need a bed for a day or two. don't try to make it your base for an extended stay.

This hotel was had great views of the city and was very close to everything you want to see city centre. The rooms are large, however very dated. The carpet and showers are old and need replacing, however most rooms offer kitchen suites.Good cheap place, with nice staff, but don't expect the best looking furniture.

Room allocated was old and worn. Couch was so dirty it would stain clothes or anything touched it - yuck! Room air conditioner too loud. Taps broken in bathroom and kitchen. Kitchen utensils worse than junk. Pillows woeful. Lobby smells of sewage. Location of hotel is excellent. When I checked out the gentlemen said he could offer a renovated room next time...why didn't they give this on arrival???!!! Stop renting out these old run down rooms. Pictures on booking.com are misleading.

Excellent location and view Of the CBD. Walk to Sydney Tower and Darling Harbour every day. We didn’t have a car don’t need one just use Uber or Lyft way better savings. Also a lot of food and entertainment around.

Staff were excellent, location excellent, rooms large and beds comfortable. Facilities should be excellent too, but in need of refurbishment, looking worn and shabby. No dishwasher, no salt and pepper. Pool on roof has sun beds, cushions split, need replacing.

Arrived late evening after a long flight from the UK. Reception was pleasant and the chap that checked us in was friendly as well. Got into lift managed eventually to swipe the fob correctly to get to the correct floor. Opened the lift door and thought, this could do with a paint. The room was large with a small kitchen unit. Sheets and towels were clean. The furniture in the room could do with being replaced as getting a bit tired, The walls could do with a lick of paint as could the bathroom. Room was comfortable enough just needed some wow factor. When you look on their web-site the rooms look wow. Unfortunately I think the photos were taken quite a while ago. The location is great, 20 minute walk to circular quay. 15 min walk to China town.

We arrived early to store our bags and were pleased and surprised that we were given early access to our room which was great, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were also able to store our bags at the hotel on the friday for the morring before flying out in the afternoon. The room was very tired and really needs to be updated. It was clean, the air condiitioning was loud and old, and we had to ask for our room to be serviced twice, we wouldn't have minded except we had run out of washing detergent, this came in small sachets. Their was no plug for the hand basin, so my husband had to shave in the shower, luckly he can do that. The cover on the chairs around the pool need replacing, and their is no working spa. Overall it was a great location and there are two supermarkets just up the road in Oxford street. We felt the priced was too high for what we got, and we were staying 8 nights.

We stayed in a room with a separate lounge area with a King Bed. It gave us access to the Capital Theatre where we saw a Jackson Browne Concert (Amazing!!). Its a bit quirky, we needed assistance with our keys twice as they stopped working. The windows are single glazed so they let a bit of street noise in the morning and the bed was very hard compared to most other places we stayed at. We had a nice view of Hyde Park and the city central district. Reasonably priced.

Really disappointed with this hotel. I checked out of room 905 on Fri 16/03/2018 . I realised as soon as I got to work that I had left my electric toothbrush and iPhone charger behind in the room. I called reception that evening and was told the cleaning staff had not handed anything in to lost property. There was then a long pause as the female receptionist wait for me to go away. No interest from the hotel in recovering these items. I will be cancelling my weekly business trips to Oaks hotel chain from now on, why stay in a hotel where the staff steal from your room ?
