Had a work conference at the conference centre. Hotel was modern within a very close proximity of the conference centre. Room was reasonable for one night and the pub/restaurant associated with the hotel was a revelation. Great selection of beers and good comfort food.

We booked a night here as our plan to stay with family fell thru. Apon arrival was greeted with a nice lady at reception (didnt catch her name) our room was ready even thou we arrived before the 2pm check in which was awesome, she even offered a roll away bed as we had our 3yr old with us and it was a king bed only so that helped heaps. Got to the room although it was small, the room itself has been updated with new bedding, bathroom and fixtures which was pleasant. Instead of the cardboard sign to put on handle outside for 'do not disturb' etc they have installed a panel with buttons to turn on/off the sign for DND and to clean room plus a dor bell which I really liked. Love love loved the bathroom, the shower was nice and big with 2 different shower heads! Loved the big round mirror too with the lighting around it. Bed was comfy, but not so keen on the pillows. Word of warning it you do have a roll away bed it is a tight squeeze as the room is small but that didnt worry us 😊. The location of the hotel for us was awesome! Central to just about everything in the city, nice and close to Chinatown/Paddys Market, so plenty of places to eat and also easy walking distance to Darling Harbour and not too far back to Town Hall. Theres also a bar thats apart of the hotel which was nice (Pump House) So location was excellent. Now food, we only ordered room service from the Sleep Walker menu due to the time and Im afraid this is apart of why I didnt give a rating of 5. We ordered the Thai Curry Chicken and the Beef Pie with "salad" First the price of these items were way overpriced for the serving you get ($17 each) the pie was like a $4.50 pie from the shop with bits of leaf on the side which I couldnt even eat, (with no dressing or anything just bits of green leaf) was hugely disappointed with the price there, was thinking I was going to get some gourmet pie at that price. The next morning we went down and had the buffet breakfast and as usual that was great as expected as we have had many bb at other Novotels. So overall we did enjoy our stay and ended up staying a 2nd night. The service from all staff members especially the lady who checked us in who also did our check out was excellent and couldnt be happier. Did have a slight issue regarding the charge of my room, but got promptly sorted out. My family and I will definitely be back to stay again next time we are in Sydney. Thanks for the awesome service and see you soon.

Dear Management Hi i was at the hotel  6th to the 10th of August  and just wanted to  say  thank  you for your hospitality. Hotel  services  and  staff  where  excellent  condition  and elite  as i was there  i had NO problems  with the noise  of the  construction  from  my room. Breakfast  was excellent  and the room  i stayed  in  was neat & tidy if i needed  information  on  the  area and the staff  didn't  know  they  would  look it up from  me at the front  desk . Check  in and check  out  was excellent  the price  of  the  room  was brilliant. So thank you  Novotel  Rockford Darling Harbour  for the best two days  of my mini holiday. Can you please tell  the staff  and  housekeeping  that  i give  them  the 10 out of 10 in service  and respect and kindness to me as a guest  of the hotel.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 Yours  Truly  & Sincerely Scott  B Room 713

Beautiful pool especially at night. The rooms are ok. I had an issue with the air conditioner if that is what it was. Putting it on cool only made it hotter. The breakfast was free and very good. Of course the location was fantastic. There are two hotels on this bay with the same name. We went to the wrong on at first. After a long trip it was difficult. The taxi driver would not take us to the new hotel but was nice to give us directions. It was not far and a nice walk if you know where to go. In all a nice hotel. The trick to the toilet is speed.

Let me get the review of the actual room and location out of the way first: Pros: - location. Next to Chinatown and in the thick of cbd and next to the icc. Very convenient. - rooms are great. Clean, spacious. Though is a little spartan, but I liked it. Cons: - walls are thin, so you can hear your neighbours at times. - ongoing renovations that we were not made aware of prior to our stay. Thankfully it was over the weekend, and we were out most of the day. Main issue: When I arrived at the hotel, I was told my room was already paid for. I asked the concierge twice if he was sure, as I was certain I hadn't paid for it. He checked and said yes. Upon checking out, he did not immediately admitted his mistake and just casually asked me to pay for my room. Something happened over the weekend with family and since he told me I have paid, I sent money off to family to accomodate their needs. So, of course, I didn't have any money to pay him. To make a long story short, he suggested an offline payment, which he clarified as something that will "just make your bank go into negative". I asked him to explain that, and he claims that the payment will be taken out later rather than immediately. When the weekend ended, the money was already taken out and, of course, I was charged overdraft fees for the next 2 weeks till I got paid again. People plan their budget around what they think they know. I asked twice if he was sure it was paid, please don't casually tell me to pay when you said I didn't need to.

I stayed for 10 nights, first for a business trip and later for a personal holiday after my assignment was complete. I had a lot of time to review this hotel. Location: 4/5. Close to Darling Harbor and Chinatown. Do make use of the light rail 2 minutes south of the hotel of connect u to the train station and other sights. 15 mins walk to the nearest train station(Town Hall). Rooms: 3/5. Really dated and the carpets feels muggy and not clean. Housekeeping do try their best to keep the rest of the room and toilet clean Service: 2/5. There were some really unpleasant experiences. 1) On our first night when we discovered there were no complimentary toothbrush set in our rooms, we went up to the front desk to ask for it. It was 10pm and there were no guest. The lady at the front desk looked irritated and made us wait while she went off for awhile and returned with a bunch of toothbrush(there were 7 of us). The correct way to do it is to invite us back to our rooms and send housekeeping to send the items to us. 2) During breakfast on our second day, the manager (a bearded guy) rudely shooed us off with 1 finger telling us that he needed the seat which my colleague was putting her bag on. He could have asked us nicely and we would obliged, instead of pointing his finger at us! 3) the hotel messed up our emailed request for a boxed breakfast on 1 morning. But the hotel GM made it up to us with a bottle of wine and a cheese platter each to our rooms. However there were also other amazing staff ( front desk: Rahn (young blond guy), Nicole( lady with big colorful glasses) and an Asian lady at breakfast service. She already remembered what I liked for my breakfast on the 3rd day). For a brand like Novotel, i am disappointed at the disappointing inconsistencies, and I am usually tolerant and understanding in all my hotel stays. Will not return again.

Stayed one night, Found it to be very central to everything, Boat show was on at the time so great for walking around Darling Harbour. Close to Chinese Gardens, Sydney exhibition Center and China Town with all its restaurants. Parking is available under Darling Harbour Quarter, advise you drop you luggage off at the hotel reception first and then park the car. The Hotel is under going renovations at the moment which I was not aware of at the time of booking. If you need to have an extra couple of hours sleep in the morning you might want to look at somewhere else until they have finished. Breakfast was average, not bad but not great. The couple of complimentary drink vouchers for the Pump House are welcome addition. Food there and drinks are good but that is for another review. Would stay there again? Yes certainly when the renovations are complete.

OK. I'll be honest...I booked this Novotel by mistake - I meant to book a sister property close by. But my mistake was a good outcome. So some summary thoughts: 1. There is a tonne of construction going on around this hotel - this isn't ideal but its not a real intrusion on comfort - just be wary of traffic and diversions 2. There seems to be an ongoing inhouse reno going on - lots of hammer drilling, banging and stuff going on - not ideal but hey I've experienced worse 3. The refurb'd rooms are seriously good - very good layout etc - they seem to skimp on the amenities in the bathroom - but overall - well done. I wasn't sure what to expect from this Novotel but I'm giving it top marks - great staff, really nice modern rooms, and a convenient location

3 night stay in May 2017 - Comfy bed, thin walls, and cleanish bathroom. You heard every neighbouring room when the left, showered and spoke. I booked through Qantas and was never advised of the renovations, so resting between 7am and 6pm was impossible. I won't be returning here. Too many other nicer hotels with same price nearby.

Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure the Novotel Rockford Sydney is an oasis of calm with style ~ from the moment I arrived the warm reception I received from Patrick on the front desk made to feel as though I had been a frequent guest of the hotel even though this was my first stay at this hotel. The newly renovated rooms are so beautiful it felt like a modern city apartment, especially LoVED the shower ! Even my departure was a an experience taking in the diffusion of essentials oils set me up for my journey home. love everything about the Novotel Rockford, the outstanding guest service, beautiful rooms and location.
