Rooms. Staff. Bar. Location. LOVE IT. Have stayed a few times, and have never been disappointed. Seriously love every aspect that matters (the rooms are a dream). The pricing can become excessive, especially in summer, but watch for specials.
Best experience, I've had the best cocktails in Sydney. Service was unbelievable, particularly Surjeet, thank you for making us feel so welcome and your drinks suggestion, amazing. Definitely coming back
Really nice place - central to where I wanted to be, beautiful room, very clean, top service, friendly/helpful staff, close to the ferry (short trip to the city), plenty of coffee shops nearby, But most important the bed was great.
Did not know that Intercontinental had a hotel in Double Bay so was pleasantly surprised that they had such a fine establishment away from the CBD. In a lot of ways, this was a lot brighter, better and more pleasant environment in terms of location. Stay was good as you would expect from Intercontinental but plus was the location albeit downsides are the traffic in getting to the facility especially if it was wet weather. Overall, positive plus
Greeting was warm and check in efficient and via the Club Lounge. Room was beautiful and looked over the neighboring houses and apartments to the harbour. The curtains automatically opening on entry to reveal the view is a very nice touch. Club lounge is very generous with staff who know your name and are extremely attentive. The food and drinks are of a very high quality, no generic beverages at the IC Double Bay. Stillery cocktails were fantastic and we ate at the restaurant once for breakfast, it was fine but would recommend offering a la carte as the hot food on display wasn't very hot. The only glitch was the concierge desk who did not follow through on a restaurant enquiry in person. We left our room number and were promised a response but no one got back to us via the on screen message, by phone or on paper. I don't think that most of the staff you speak to there are concierge staff as there were some other minor issues here. They were unflinchingly friendly but it may be a good idea to remove to concierge sign when you aren't really speaking to one. Other than that it was a near perfect stay.
I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in May 2017. Nice clean room with simple modern touch on decoration and art display. Fast conceige service and helpful friendly staff. My room was facing inside the building to a garden, nice and quiet. Swimming pool on roof top looks over sea view, be sure to spend some time there. If you fancy to have a some Asian food, there is a nice Japanese restaurant Sake right next to hotel entrance.
The intercontinental double bay is a nice alternative to staying in the Sydney CBD and just a short ferry ride away. Double Bay has more of a village feel with upscale shopping and dining. The hotel is beautifully appointed with a number of in house dining options. Give the room service a miss overpriced and ordinary. It was also irritating to have been overcharged for a minibar purchase of a coke billed at checkout and then a second time on reviewing my bank statement $12 in total. A little sloppy for a hotel if this standard or perhaps karma telling me don't drink coke there will be a price. This wouldn't deter me from staying again however. Rooftop pool area is divine. We specifically came to Sydney for vivid so this was a good choice outside the hustle anc bustle
We stayed at the hotel as we had a wedding near by and i can not wait to return. The hotel is beautifully furnish and every details has gone int the finishing of the venue. However it was the staff that really made the stay, they really go above and beyond to make your stay a delightful one. The rooms are top class and huge bathrooms - toilet has its own room. The roof top bar is a must the view is unreal, even if not staying in the hotel i recommended a drink. This is an extravagant hotel so your wallet may suffer but its worth the splurge
Come to Sydney for little get aways often but decided to stay out of the city this time..to our delight!!. This hotel is immaculate from the entrance to the views and service. Decadent design yet private and intimate surroundings in a great location. Will definitely be back!
Polite, quick check in. Bright, very clean, good size room. Comfortable beds and pillows. Good shower. Very good A/C, quiet and easy to operate. Competent housekeepers. Breakfast staff at the lounge was also very courteous. Decent food. Not a big fan of cold, dice size fruit stored in a fridge in small bowls. Friendly concierge.
