There are so many things to like about this hotel. It's located in a leafy upmarket suburb away from the busy-ness of the CBD, but just a short walk to the ferry which takes about 10 minutes to deliver you to Circular Quay - a lovely way to get about. There are also plenty of cafes restaurants and shops near the hotel. The staff were uniformly welcoming, friendly and professional. Every interaction with them was positive and enjoyable. Our room was great - light and airy with a lovely view of Double Bay. We especially liked the well-appointed bathroom, with separate toilet and shower, double basins and proper rails to hang towels, unlike a lot of hotels which only have hooks. The bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast is good and the barista-made coffee is excellent. This will be our go-to hotel in Sydney from now on.

Intercontinental Sydney Double Bay is sophisticated yet relaxed. My mother and I had a delicious dinner at Stockroom restaurant with localy sourced produced and a choice of over 130 gins. it was a 15 minute downhill walk from Edgecliff train station and our room had a view of the harbour and lovely magazines to read.

Great hotel for a quiet weekend away. Fantastic conference facilities & catering. Quietly situated just outside of CBD with water views or courtyard views. Tastefully decorated with friendly service. Walking distance to boutique shops and quality restaurants & cafes.

I did say that following my last visit I would return to this hotel but I have to admit to being a little disappointed on this occasion. While the staff was generally OK it would appear that some things are starting to slip... like being chased out the bar by a staff member yelling out of we had paid for our drinks?? Really??? Or heading to the rood bar at 8.00 and being asked 'how can I help you' and upon asking if we could get a drink being told in no uncertain manner ....'sorry we are closed. Interesting given that the three staff we just sitting at the bar chatting. I would suggest that management take a look at this type of behaviour because it is not a great look for what is generally a nice hotel. I did ask for a late check out and the staff were more than happy to oblige. Likewise, our room was large, clean and spacious with amazing views out across the bay. While disappointed, I will give it another go next time i'm in double bay.

We recently sold our apartment in Darling Point. But we have not yet found another home which we like and expect it to take a while given the tight real estate market. Rental options were expensive and with inflexible lengths of stay. The short term rental market is very limited and full of scammers, one of whom tried to fleece us with an offer too good to be true. When he asked for $10,000 up front sight unseen we did some checking and realised these web sites are full of scams. Walking past Double Bay's Intercontinental we thought we would drop in to take a look. Bill the manager was standing at the front door and welcomed us before passing us over to Front of House Manager, Jeremy. We were shown a variety of excellent room and suite options. There is a long term stay price. Perhaps not cheap but with many benefits including a dedicated lounge area and outside garden plus rooftop pool. Daily high tea and cocktails included. Not to forget our suite is serviced every day, no dishes to wash, no beds to make, no housework period and no utility bills. The service is excellent and we feel as though we are living in a family environment together with other long term stay guests. Some here for over 9 months. We can thoroughly recommend it as a flexible, indulgent, luxurious holiday between homes. Its too easy to stay.

We were a religious group staying there over our Sabbath and they could not do enough for us. They rode up with us in the elevator, opened our room and asked if there was anything else they could do for us. The concierge as you entered always had a few bell man ready to assist with the smallest things. The rooms were luxurious, the bathrooms exquisite. Highly recommended.

Our overall stay was great However there were a few things that were not done well. Firstly we arrived and at the front desk were told that our rooms would be ready soon however if we wanted a room immediately we could have one if we upgraded and paid more . It felt almost like they were trying to sell us a higher category when we were at our most vulnerable .. tired after traveling and without a room! Then the room was clean but the stone side tables were not cleaned properly and had ring marks from the previous occupant . The two days we were there , we went up to the beautiful pool Top area only to find one function after another ! So we , the paying hotel guests , were uncomfortably sitting in our bikinis on loungers with approx 20-30 fully dressed men and woman partying , drinking , and staring at us all! Not relaxing at all and so uncomfortable all of us left! Is this hotel so short of funds that they need to rent out their pool space to non guests for functions ? We couldn't walk up to the bar in our bathers for a drink or a pool meal as you would be standing next to a guest in high heels and dressed to the 9's . Very inappropriate and both days we were there , both days had functions for local Sydney businesses. I feel the hotel is very rude to do this to its guests and find it totally awekward and innapropriate !

Went with 3 friends to this hotel for Friday night drinks. We started off on the roof top bar with cocktails. The staff really looked after us even checking if we were enjoying our cocktails. We stayed until the sun went down then moved to the bar inside. Great singer and band with more amazing cocktails (I highly recommend the lemon and thyme margarita!). Staff and service was first class. All in all, a fabulous venue to unwind after a busy week.

Back Again to this IHG Property this time with Club Access Which was Great i was thanked for my Ambassador membership & was surprised with Two Free drink Vouchers for my Birthday, Club Food was nice standard cold food options and with a mini Hot Food Menu. Drinks During Club hours were Generous and PlentiFul. With the finishing Touch on Checkout wasnt charge for drinking the Sparkling Water its the small things Thats Intercontinental

Having stayed here a couple of times, I always look forward to returning, even if it's a little overpriced given its location. Unfortunately, my last visit wasn't great. I stopped to drop my bags off on the way to a lunch, but the concierge was on his mobile sitting on a chair in the foyer, so I had no option but to take my bags upstairs to reception. In the interim, someone else from the hotel rudely told my taxi driver, with my wife sitting in the back, to get out of the driveway. On going around the block and returning to collect me, they had parked a car in the driveway, blocking it and left to do something else. Not the end of the world, but not a great start. The hotel called me when our room was ready, but on returning that evening, the bathroom had not been well cleaned and everything felt a bit tired. If you need to be near Double Bay, the location is good, but lots of better options around Sydney.
