I have stayed twice in this hotel, so I think I have seen enough to post this review. Rooms in level 2 are very close to one bend of the Western Distributor. So they are VERY noisy. I asked staff to change me, which they did (staff are not at fault). But the second room had a broken TV set, so you still pay for a service you don't get. I was there for business, but I hate to think about a couple that may book this hotel for a romantic getaway. My advice is: don't. Spend your money in better options.
My partner, 10 month old daughter and myself stayed here for 3 nights in July for a weekend away. I wouldn't usually stay in a hotel like this but my partner organised the getaway! It's an average hotel in a prime location in Sydney. We walked daily to and from the ferrys, also to Harbourside, the sealife aquarium, restaurants and china town. The hotel only has a small bar which is also a very small cafe and provide small snacks and meals. We were upgraded from a queen standard to a king superior which was still just an average room. Yes great if it's just you and your partner and are just looking for somewhere to sleep in the heart of Sydney. But not recommended for any sort of luxury nor with young children.
Perfect location, close to everything especially Barangaroo, Darling Habour, King St Wharf etc. The room was small but clean, modern, and comfortable. Staff was helpful, received a upgrade upon arrival which was nice surprise. Doesn't have a restaurant but there is plenty to chose from within the area. Parking was pricey so we decided to book overnight parking at a close by parking station.
This site is close to public transport, Darling Harbour, walking distance to the Convention Centre and located near some of the best bars and restaurants on Sydney's water front. The hotel is clean and modern and very well priced. The rooms are very adequate.
My husband and I stayed here when we were going to a concert at the ICC at Darling Harbour. We caught the train to Wynyard station and walked down, an easy walk. We were greeted with a warm smile and prompt attention. The room was basic, but it had all we needed for the night. We walked to Darling Harbour for dinner before the show and back again afterwards, such a convenient location. Comfy bed and pillows made for a good nights sleep. Breakfast was included in our tariff and it was very satisfactory. I am gluten intolerant and was able to have a bacon and egg toasted sandwich as well as great banana bread, as recommended by the receptionist. All the staff we had dealings with were friendly and helpful, and we would definitely stay here again.
Stayed here recently for a work trip, attending a conference at the ICC. The location was in walking distance to the convention centre so that was a big plus. The staff were lovely, but oh my the rooms were small and not that well equipped. Now I do need to keep perspective as the IBIS are a budget hotel group. So the good things were the staff, and location. The room and bathroom were tidy, however when staying in a hotel which does not have a restaurant as such, having something in the minibar would good, even if it was just bottled water. Due to the size of the room the bathroom door could not be left open during a shower as it would apparently set off the smoke alarms and would incur a $750 fee (which I understand) but still. The shower was quite small too. The ironing board was broken and the closet space was that small that you could only really hang a few items. I was also unluck to have a room on the 4th floor overlooking the freeway, which during the day was not an issue however I was woken each morning at 4am when the traffic seems come alive on Sydney roads! So for a 4 day work trip not the ideal. Would I stay here again by choice, no. But was it terrible, no. So if you need somewhere for a night or two and you only need a bed then this is an ok choice.
Pleasant stay with excellent staff. Particularly enjoyed my evening Bar drink & the excellent service of the Front Office Manager handling both the bar & Reception at times. Smaller rooms but good facilities in a good location short walk to both the Ferries & Wynyard station via the Barangaroo exit. Rates can be a little high for great value. Felt very welcome & will return.
We wanted somewhere close to Darling Harbour but not too expensive as we weren't going to be in the hotel much. This hotel was perfect. The price was very reasonable and the room. although not big, was clean, new and comfortable. The staff were great and the breakfast was adequate although limited. All in all, a very nice place, with great service and in a good location at the right price.
From checking in to leaving 8 days later the staff were extremely friendly and helpful . The location was superb within about 150 metres of Darling Harbour . Room although compact had everything you need on vacation . Plenty of cafe's and restaurants and 5 minutes walk from Wynyard station ( direct trains to airport )
Reception staff so friendly and welcoming. Cosy room with most comfortable king size bed and awesome pillow menu. So close to the Wharf and the amazing Darling Harbour. Neat and tidy and cleaned daily. Will definitely stay again and highly recommend.
