Great Location. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. We could walk to sporting fixtures and there are a lot of very good eating locations very close by. We would recommend this hotel for a budget stay close to central Sydney.
Good clean accommodation and overall good value within walking distance of UTS and central railway. Arrived by motor car which since Chalmers St is a major feeder into the southern end of down town Sydney can cause a problem of parking outside. There appeared to be rear access which it might be worthwhile checking with front desk beforehand as it would help in unloading etc.
The second time we have stayed here as a group. The first stay was without fault but this time some of the approach to service was not as good as before. One of our party had housekeeping let themselves in as she was trying to say not to come in due to not being dressed.....
Good location since near public transportation specially train. It was very good for stay specially for business. The front desk officer is really kind, so it makes feel at home. The price is very competitive specially when we booking in the same day we just arrived at Sydney.
I booked this place on the location and recommendation from the websites and I was not disappointed. The beds were very comfortable and the towels were in abundance we could have had three showers each a day if needed. Very handy for the main train station and the bus stops across the road.
The rooms were great, the front desk staff were helpful and friendly. Location is an easy walk from Central station. Sleep quality was reduced by light spill into the room and noise from other guests out at the vending machine until late and in the early morning.
Close to Redfern train station. The room was functional and as I expected. More maintenance would have made the room better. There were two power points that were broken. The bed was comfortable and the room was air-conditioned.
Nice location but hard to get back to by bus because of one way system had to go back to main station then transfer real pain.place was very noisey 10pm noise curfew not enforced still people socializing at 1.30 in morning and windows seemed very thin not shore if even glass could hear neighbouring building music etc.other than that it was good really clean and cosy.proberly wont stay again.
Central Railway Hotel is in a quaint neighbourhood and near (about 15 minutes walk) Central and Redfern Stations. There are some great slection of restaurants and woolworths close by. The room was clean and bed so comfortable. It has a kitchenette which has a sink, plates, cups, cutlery, dish washing liquid, tea towel, toaster, microwave, fridge and tea, cofee and milk. The fridge has a breakfast starter pack and juices which you can use and pay for. It is so well equipped and convenient to fix up a meal or a quick breakfast. There is a courtyard with tables and chairs to relax or share your meal with your family. The staff are super friendly and so accommodating. Our flight was delayed and we didn't arrive until 12:30am as the airport shuttle missed our drop off. The night duty staff was so kind to wait up for us to check us in. He even called us twice to check on us if we were ok finding our way to the hotel. We will definitely return to stay.
The overall room may not look new but the beds are comfortable and toilet is clean. The 2-seater sofa is made of steel and the edges can be sharp. Though there is a pvc cover protecting the armrest, the corner of the armrest aren't protected..
