This place did not feel safe and was very dirty. I didn't sleep much throughout the night as people were slamming doors, pacing up and down the hall way. The rooms were tiny, and were not clean at all.
Room was very clean and had the space for two more people, close to university but car parking was a bit of a nightmare..but I think that is always going to be the case in the city .got key no worries, new bathroom which was spacious, close to shops(walking distance )and lots of meal choices close by.Clean, cheap accomodation ,good for what we required.
I'm not a very demanding person. I'm used to adapt to every place I visit, but for this time I found it fair to tell you how awful the place was before you take your personal decision. Firstly, you can find either cockrouches in the kitchen while preparing a tea or in the bathroom while a relaxing shower. The place is not neat. I thought the kitchen would be useful till I bumped into the first one where the dishes are placed. Gross. I wonder why most of them find the place so cosy. Thus, the cleaning service is to be done in the rooms every 3 days (but more if weekend or bank holidays). The wifi service is limited, as when you run out of it you'll be asked to pay an extra amount per day. One could deal with this, tho. The stairs and the ground crack and make a loud noise at any time in the night when someone wander through the aisles. Not to mention the prices. I'm complaining about this all also because I can't get to understand how the price we paid (1000 AUD for 5 nights) doesn't make them pay attention to all these facts. A higher quality should be deffinitely offered so far! I could expect it from a really cheap hostel or motel, but not from an stablishment that had actually rose their prices for Christmas time in purpose for the dates, not due to an actual demand. We run out of options to chose somewhere else, better and cheaper and that's why we ended up here. I understand how offer-demand works, but this has been too much. Shameless. Smelly rooms on the ground floor, as they don't have any kind of ventilation and the windows remain attached not to be open. Humidity odour is very unconfortable. Staff was nice though, truth be said. And good location plenty of cafés and restaurants, and near bus station. Thank god we enjoyed our time in the city and could make the most of our travel regardless of the resting place.
I stayed in two of the lodges which were very handy to the hospital .Found all the rooms very clean ,I stayed in four.Very happy with all of them.Found the receptionists all very helpful as I had to extend my stay.Would definelty stay there again.
The location of this property is really great, very close to randwick market and also lot of cafes nearby. I stayed here for 7 days as i had an event in UNSW, overall the stay was great, but the wifi in this location is really bad, i mean i could not even attend calls and basic web browsing was difficult. Apart from this rest was pretty good.
Super clean and modern, booked the deluxe double room with shared bathroom to find we got our own toilet which was great! Really quiet and comfortable with great air conditioning. Will stay again when in Sydney!
We had a one night there as had to go to see specialist at hospital . Very clean, almost new bathroom. close to hospital , but the floor was very Squeeky. We had a very nice meal around the corner at the hotel. The staff were great.
I stayed for one night only in a single room as my husband was having an operation at prince of Wales private hospital. The lodge is in a very convenient location right across the road from the hospital. It was clean, tidy had a tv with tea and coffee supplied. I stayed in room 101 which was on the lower floor right next to reception. I did find this room to be quite noisy and you could hear every creak from the upstairs bedroom. The shower was nice and hot with fresh clean towels. Not sure if I imagined this or not but i did notice that my feet and arms were itchy so not sure if it was bed lice or fleas. All in all the room served its purpose to be close to the hospital and in all honesty if i had to stay there again I probably would for convenience and price.
My husband and I booked the Randwick Lodge for October, along with our family and friends for our wedding. We were the first to book in and stay in the new rooms, which was quite exciting. I'll start with the parking. It would have been much better if the parking for the lodge was able to be used, but it was quite easy to find a park for everyone in the street just outside (mears avenue) - It's a busy street, so it's best to park and then just use public transport to go places if you can. The rooms were spectacular! Our room was absolutely massive. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were lovely, it was great. The manager or owner was really lovely, and there was also another guy who met us, took my bags and showed us to the room where the current office is (it's still under maintenance, so everything was a little all over the place) - The whole building has this really nice old school touch about it, and it made for beautiful wedding photos! - They also allowed our wedding cars to be parked in their driveway so I didn't have to walk down the hill to a car. It's close to all the shops, but it is in a really busy part of randwick. I definitely do recommend it. My whole family thought it was beautiful. My mum did stay in one of the old rooms that was still yet to be refurbed, but she still liked it! - Would stay here again! :)
Cannot recommend this hotel. Parking is impossible and the receptionist was rude and patronising. Having driven a long way already having to drive for another 30 minutes around ever increasing blocks to end up in a 3 hour parking zone was too much. Having called the hotel prior I was informed there was plenty of parking. The rooms are very small. Won't be back.
