Holiday Inn London-Gatwick Airport

3.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Shuttle service is pretty good, even really late for after partying in London (as I did last night). Plus there's a really great Olde pub about 5 minutes walk away with pretty good food and a beer garden

Stopped overnight before early morning flight - I will do so again ! Quiet, very good value for money - and nice clean room - which was changed without question after I asked for a room further away from nearby workmen. Helpful response when I asked for IT support. Easy travel to airport on shuttle bus.

clean hotel, price was good, very close to the airport. They wanted a lot of money for wifi...which I don't understand why it can't just be free? it's 2014, everyone has free wifi! I booked a standard room with a queen bed, then they ended up telling me, when I got there, that i'm getting 2 small beds instead...i'm not sure if this is their fault or Orb*tz. Restaurant's customer service was horribly slow and careless...but I didn't expect much in london anyways.

There were three major disappointments. 1. The hotel had no air conditioning while the room was hot. Opening the windows did not help because not only was the outside noisy, the wind hardly got into the room. 2. Wi fi was not free in the room and even in the lobby. 3, We could not find any nearby decent restaurant while the hotel restaurant required advanced booking even though the dining room did not appear to be full.

I stayed at four hotels on this trip, and felt they were all good with the exception of this one. The room was nice enough, but smelled of stale tobacco smoke. The evening meal in the dining room was a disappointment as the meat pie I ordered was cold inside. The restaurant did give me another properly cooked pie, and the hotel compensated a bit by giving me a free bus ride to the airport. However, it being the last hotel of my journey, I was disappointed.

Great hotel - very short trip to the airport and super convenient shuttle. Room was very clean and well sound-proofed. Food in the bar was good and served quickly. Exactly what we wanted for the night before an early departure from Gatwick.

After paying 259 dollars to get from Heathrow to this hotel via taxi, I was in need of some nice friendly service. I arrived in the room that did not have a tv remote nor a directory that gave any details about the hotel ammenities. I went out to the desk and had to request a remote and no directory was available. The people at the desk were a bit short with their answers and I returned to my room and just went to bed without dinner. The room service is a small listing and really overpriced. The internet is available but double of what I have paid in other similar hotels. If you are going to Gatwick airport and just need a nice comfy bed, clean room with a good location and nothing else- this is the place to be! If you are staying longer than one night... you may wish to find something else.

Very Conveniant for an early morning flight

This hotel has nice rooms that are clean, and quiet. It is close to Gatwich, yet far enough to avoid the noise. We took a day trip to London by taking the shuttle back to the airport and then taking the train. We would stay again if ever at Gatwick.

Our stay at the Holiday Inn was brief. We were very pleased with the ease of check in and out.

Great facility for anyone needing to stay near the airport. Quick, convenient independently operated shuttle bus takes one to and from the hotel.

Nice room with comfortable bed and decent television. Not as close to the airport as you would think, you have to take a bus that cost 2pounds 50 one way. Did not seem to have a swimming pool or any other amenities, restaurant had poor hours and was over priced. I would recommend if you could find one a bed and breakfast, cheaper, included breakfast which the Holiday Inn did not, and usually still get a decent room.

Allow lots of time to get to the airport, a bus leaves every 15 minutes but was very full we should have allowed 30 minutes to get to Gatwick airport

Surprise - The shuttle which you would expect to be a courtesy shuttle from the hotel is actually a regular bus which charges 5 Pounds per person for the short ride to the Holiday Inn. Another surprise - there were no converters available for anyone who comes from America versus Europe. Other than these surprises, the hotel was fine, the room comfy and warm. The bathroom had all the amenities we needed.
