Stayed at this site for (4) nights, and do not recommend this location in Summer months. No Air Conditioning on site, tiny shower, not close to S-bahn, and basic mattress. Breakfast was not included in the room rate, but after seeing what was offered, it was not a big loss for the extra cost. It does have an elevator, but you still need to carry your bags up 1/2 a flight of stairs to get to some rooms
Filderhof is a good, newish basic accommodation hotel. It's right downtown Leinfelden, just off the Hauptstrasse on a small brick side street. Free WiFi, but a weak signal. Room is about 9x10 feet plus a hall and bath, and it has a small balcony. Furniture is basic: two single beds (one made, one not), a tiny wall-mounted desk, small TV with cable, closet shelf unit, and Ikea chair. Bath is so small, it was difficult to maneuver. Free mineral water. No coffee pot. Breakfast is not included, was very good for only 10 euro. New key entry system was convenient.
Full disclosure: I deduct one point for lack of USB charging stations. I my wife and I recently travelled and we carried 6 devices which use USB. And we are old fogies! So the entry procedures were odd. The machine outside the hotel was broken but the super nice general manager got us squared away quickly. The place is clean and well appointed. We had a fantastic room but the elevator did not go all the way to the top. We decided to stay in the room anyway due to the view. We did not get the breakfast opting instead for the local bakeries. We did however enjoy a soda and cappuccino which was nice. The WiFi was iffy. I was unable to conduct and business online on three of my devices - no idea what the issue was. Again, the general manager was very helpful but was unable to resolve the issue. Our room was very warm during the unusually warm German September but the fans helped. Plenty of parking and good local restaurants are a plus.
Spent 3 nights here on a business trip. My room was clean & comfortable with a really good shower. The location is good, just off the main street. The breakfast however is abysmal. Despite this I would stay again when in the area.
I stayed at the Filderhof hotel in January as i was attending an exhibition at the Messe. I arrived around 10pm to find the door locked and no lights on. There was a number to call if you arrive after 9pm. I was informed my key was in a key box outside and to let myself in. Room was nice and tidy, I had 2 single beds pushed together and a very slim pillow. The bathroom was very nice with a large shower :-). a balcony overlooked the local area which was a nice touch. overall a good hotel just a bit dark and lonely late at night.
Except for the fact that I could not find the rooms acceptable for more than 160 EUR / night (which is what I paid!!), there were no amenities in the room except for plain soap, I received only one bottle of water in the room for 5 days of stay, the pillows were more than horrible with a giant pillow case for the smallest pillow in the world. And here comes the worst part: after my first night there I got the most horrifying bug bites on my leg (you will see the photos for yourself attached), which only got worse the next couple of days, and even my ankle and foot got swollen and I could barely walk with pain. And the hotel's answer? Are you sure you got those here?...ok, we'll change the linen on the bed.. No room change, no apologies, no nothing. Well, I went to bed, I woke up, I had those, what do you think? Did I get them there? YES!! And the breakfast? Poor as hell! For 10 EUR, that is unbelievably a rip off!! Moreover, I was given a room with 2 twin beds on the opposite sides of the room, with no night stand, I kept my phone and glass of water on the floor, there were no slippers in the room or any other kind of amenities. Really people, for 160 EUR....this is UNACCEPTABLE!!!
Stayed for one night, arrived late and left early to catch a flight. Staff was friendly and curtious. It is more than a B&B and not really a hotel, ample parking around the property and easy to find. It is extremely close to the airport, a 5 min drive.
Whenever I visit the Stuttgart messe I try to stay here. Only 5-7 min from the train to the messe (another 5min) this is a great location at a very good price. Rooms are ok, nothing special. Staff is friendly as breakfast (although it only starts at 7) is fine.
nice business hotel fro one night, nice comfortable and quiet rooms, good wifi, but there were 2 problems for me, one parking is limited, when i arrived at 7 all parking spots were gone. second, the staff were very unhelpful and slow, had to wait about 30 minute for check out, which for me is unacceptable when i need to rush for a meeting.
Avoid the room number 1 which is downstairs with only a curtain and no shutter. I thought that everybody could see us outside because the curtain is not close to the window. We could not switch on the light !!! The person at the reception does its job but no more and if she could avoid talking loundly with the cleaning lady when clients are having breakfast, it would be better. The location is perfect but if you arrive late, good luck to find a place in the parking !!!
