Awesome resort within walking distance of downtown Mackinac. Resort has SPA & Salon, Outdoor swimming pool, Recreation (Bike Rentals, Miniature Golf), Fitness center, Four Areas for Dinning (Round Island Bar & Grill, and Bistro on the Greens were noteworthy). Lake and walking trail across the street from the resort. I was well received at the hotel, room, linen, bathroom very clean and in working order. Room service was good and prompt. The Resort because of its location gives you the opportunity to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Had a great time, staff was great, a little pricey for the size of the rooms. Extra charge for dog was also too high.

The grounds are beautiful but the resort itself is old and outdated. Common areas including restaurants have no AC which makes for a terrible dining experience in the heat of summer. The rooms have very loud portable units that barely cool down the room and are so loud, we had to turn off at night to sleep. The rooms are also very small and the walls paper thin--we could hear every word from our neighbors. Within hours of checking in I received an email from Orbitz to rate my initial experience. I included much of what I've mentioned here. The next day, I received a second email from Orbitz with a response from the resort requesting I call the hotel manager. So I did. He inquired about our stay and asked to meet at dinner in the hotel that evening "to chat." Needless to say, he never showed! Perfect example of how things are done at this resort. Mackinac Island is a beautiful place so don't spend the extra cost to stay here and book elsewhere.

Hotel is old, I am sure that some others would be okay and accepting of it but not I. Main complaint was that the air conditioner floor unit ran all night...was very loud and never could achieve a 72 degree temperature setting. With tax it was $340 per night. Would have been much better and lower cost to stay at a b&b on the island.

Eat Drank and shopped. Took horse drawn buggy tour. Had a wonderfull time.

I like walking. So I didn't mind being almost a mile from downtown Mackinac Island. I didn't partake in the Hotel activities, because I had other things to do.

The Resort itself was nice, but there was some miscommunication. They told me there were 2 hot tubs, which was true, but they had shut them down for the season. Even though I called down to confirm, no one at the front desk knew anything about it.

Mission Point has a great location. The main lodge is a very interesting place. The resturant had good food, good service and a reasonable prices. The room was complete, well decorated and clean. The grounds are large, beautiful and right on the water. They even provide a free shuttle carraige to town. We will recoomend Mission Point to our friends.

Booked a room with King Bed and got room with 2 double beds? Complained and Hotel clerk said since we booked thru a third party they could not guarantee room? Had dinner at there BEST restaurant and food came out cold. Beer tasted stale and old. Waiter came by table twice. Would not stay here again.

It was down the block from downtown. Felt like we were on our own island. Beautiful grounds. Nice dinning rooms in hotel with a view of the lake. Loved the cozy areas with fireplaces to sit and read or play cards or just talk. Very friendly and helpful staff.

It has been 10 years since I've vacationed at Mission Point Resort, and my prior experience was very positive. Seems like the resort is suffering from poor economy in Michigan. While the hotel rooms were nice, the common areas were not well maintained. Everything inside seemed dusty, and the grounds not well manicured as in past visits. In the restaurant there was a dead bat on a book shelf, and the food was mediocre. Check-in took forever, and the front desk staff appeared disorganized, sloppily attired, and unprofessional.

The hotel was very nice, the rooms were clean, but we were promised a lake view room. I had called a couple weeks before to get a lake side and was willing to pay more. When we checked in the hotel told us we couldn't up grade because we used [...],,,they didn't say that before when I called. It was a nice room , but our view was a wall .....

The hotel is older and a lot of the doorways/elevator aren't very wide. The room was kind of small but we managed and the lake view was obscured by a large bush right outside the window. We had our two and four year old with us, so their double stroller/bike carriage didn't fit through the room door. We kept it outside by the bikes and it was fine. The large front lawn was perfect for having a picnic and letting the kids chase seagulls. I would probably stay again if I got a good deal.

[...]We (2 of us) had to sleep 2 nites cuddled in a full size bed..with No AC and high humidity and temp. The room was also very tiny, outdated and filled with big RED ANTS! The hotel send a exterminator to get rid of the bugs--they were all over the bed and the carpet...The TV was tiny, the room small, lamp broken, and NO AC. I would have expected a bit more than this for $300+ a nite.

rented bikes for the day= had great time riding around the island and shoping in town. our room was wonderful and very clean. no air but had ceiling fan and portable fan- not hot at all ( in mid july) would definitely stay there again.

While not a luxury hotel, it was quite adequate and the staff was very, very helpful. Easy location, glo-mini-golf was fun with kids; outdoor bar and glo-drinks fun for adults. Food options average; pool small & dated, but clean; bike rental reasonable & convenient; history interesting; large lawn and lake frontage.

This was our first trip to Mackinac Island. We loved the resort, ate at almost all their restaurants, swam in the pool, rented their bicycles, and most of all, enjoyed sitting in their Adirondack chairs out on the front lawn, reading and watching the seagulls, dogs, and people flying kites. It's a very restful place, quiet and beautiful. Three things that would have made our stay perfect: a larger pool, air conditioning, and bicycles that were in a lttle better state of repair. These were minor complaints, however, and did not detract even 1% from our enjoyment of the place.

Loved it. Definitely a resort - has a spa, kid's activities, pool, fitness, bike rental, restaurants, etc. Great service, nice people, very clean.

great service and freindly staffs
