The ground level beach front view was wonderful. The deck was a bonus. We enjoyed the size of the room. With a double and king, we still feel crowded. I would think the court side view is less appealing but the beach is still available even for that side.
Excellent Facilities and Excellent Hotel Staff. Great place to stay and a Great Value.
This hotel is a good value and right on the beach. I stayed alone but had a two room suite with kitchenette. My bed looked right out at the water, the Arnold's Ferry dock and Mackinac Island.
Good location and clean. Had booked a cart view and received beach view instead.
Great location. Nice beach. Many Brocken chairs on beach. Staff from front desk to hosekeeping to breakfast were unfriendly, no smiles , grumpy at times if simple tequests like "is there anywhere I can put these pizza boxes, I didn't want housekeeping to have to deal with them tomorrow?" Answer from front desk guy "only place is across parking lot in dumpster". He said " I guess I can take it there" when I pointed out it was raining and I didn't have shoes on. Breakfast exact same thing every AM. Water stained carpet in lobby.
Internet did not work at all (we were told it doesn't work for Apple products after we checked out). The bathroom had black mold on the walls. The lock was broken on the main door. The cable worked for an hour and then turned off in the middle of a movie. We called three times about it and were told they could do nothing. The phone we tried to use to call wouldn't work, so we had to leave the room to use a different phone. And worst of all--when we explained these things in the morning, the manager was VERY rude and told us to call the main number and threw a magazine with the number at us. Horrible stay.
This hotel was nothing fancy but it was very relaxing! On the beach and really fun to stay!
On our way to Mackinac Island late at night and made a last minute reservation. Arrived late, staff was courteous and we had a nice surprise in the morning to look out our window and see the bay, sunrise was beautiful. Room was large with two separate areas. Would have been ideal for families.
This was a most average hotel that could use an update. The advantage is that the rooms offer 2 bedrooms, fridge, microwave; which is nice or families. The hotel is on the sandy beach, with a nice firepit, but the lake-side area is mucky and overgrown with weeds and grass. The deck area outside of the room overlooking the lake is nice. A beautiful sunrise can be viewed if up early enough. The breakfast buffet was less than ordinary, although the waffle maker was popular. The pool area is sub-standard, thankfully they offer the use of the indoor waterparks of neighboring hotels. Not much to set this hotel apart from the many, many other hotels in town.
lots of space in the room, breakfast was at another hotel due to remodeling but it was very satisfactory. Since it was the last weekend open for the season the process were very reasonable
A two-star property in a neighborhood full of them. The staff is nice and friendly, though they push the "featured" branded restaurants and don't offer any local suggestions. I thought it was a bit pricey for what we got.
Loved the place, and loved they way they tried to help. But the wifi was almost non existent!! :(
Hotel was well located for visiting numerous events and sites. If you enjoy the beach environment, you'll your stay at this hotel.
Staff wasn't real friendly at first.Area was away from everything ,not much beach . Did have a water park you could use off site.Breakfast was avg.Everything was clean and neat and beds were very comfortable. This was a newer motel and thought we would try something different. Price was appropriate for what you received.
We were pleasantly surprised when we checked into our room. Had a great view of the water and the bridge. Did not expect a room this nice for $65. Front desk staff was very helpful. Free breakfast was good. Our only complaint, NO HAIRDRYER in the room.
It worths its star rate. Nothing to complain, and nothing to praise.
We stayed just one night, room was huge, door out to the beach will be great when the weather is better. Great staff, helpful with dinner plans. A little out of the busy part of town, but quiet all night long. Buffet breakfast was great to. Rates will be higher in season, but would stay there again.
Wornderful place to stay and in a good location but the breakfast ends at 9:30 so you have to get up earlier than planned.
We've stayed in this location before, but before the old was demolished and this great new 'all suites' hotel was built. We stayed 2 nights and used the indoor pool both nights as well as enjoyed the complimentary breakfast buffet both mornings. The hotel is a relatively short walk to two of the boat lines to Mackinaw Island and one could walk to downtown from there, about 1/2 mile or so. Handicap accessable rooms are available, in fact we were given one by mistake but were moved to another room better suited to our needs without any problem. We will definately stay there again when we are in the area.
Being quite new, the hotel is CLEAN, CLEAN CLEAN!! The rooms are wonderful, the view is fantastic!! Very quiet. By far the best place we ever stayed in at Mackinaw or St. Ignace, for that matter. The staff was exceptionally nice, the cleaning lady even left us a note in case we wanted an extra blanket! I've got a bad back and the mattress was firm, no sagging in the middle. Pillows weren't pancakes. :)
