beds were uncomfortable and made up wrong...linen was shabby

We stayed here in 2014 and it was a clean, well taken care of hotel with a great water park for the kids. This time was different. Checking in late, in the evening, there were still bags of dirty towels and garbage strewn across all the hallways. Those bags were still there when we woke up next morning. The room itself was clean, and a good reason to stay here... but if you are choosing this hotel for the water park, AVOID IT. The waterpark was covered in slimy mold. Without exaggeration. We could see that the park had not been cleaned in a significant amount of time, especially the kids' play area. The water in the huge hot tub was green and murky. Disgusting. It does not get this dirty in a short amount of time... we're talking long term lack of maintenance. If you just want to sleep here, go ahead. It's a fine hotel. (Make sure you pay a bit more and get the water-view rooms!) Do not stay here if you are doing it to entertain the kids.

whirlpool had a lot of sand... jets were not in right place could use more jets ..... other wise very reasonable rate and in center of things to do ....good location.... and they accept dogs...

Older facility that has not been updated HOWEVER it was clean, comfortable beds, flat screen tv and working internet. We were surprised by a included breakfast that hit the spot! Location provides nice access to the Beach. Friendly and helpful check-in staff. Only negative is their use of a commercial room freshener (possibly carpet cleaner) that likely would be overwhelming to some travelers - so tenacious its presence barely faded by the time we left.

The room was fine. Included waterparks. Two out of three waterparks were fine. One seemed dirty. Not much of a beach. Breakfast was very difficult. Too many people there in order to access food and watch my little ones.

It is a cheap hotel and did the job well. The lake front view was nice, the beach was okay. The hotel by no means was beautiful, pretty much building on top of building because it was crammed into a small lot of land. The pool seemed like a decent size though we didn't swim in it. The "water park" was just a splash pad for kids, no slides, nothing decorative. The jacuzzi was really big but wasn't heated up enough to really feel warm. We got wristbands to go to another hotel about a block down to get into their water park which we also didn't go to but looked much better for kids. For breakfast, we had to walk next door to the sister hotel to eat. It's kind of awkward walking across the parking lot in just your pajamas and sharing breakfast with the other hotel. The food was good, but it was so busy there that the staff had a hard time keeping up on serving the food. The room was just a room with beds and a tv, nothing special even though we got the suite. I think the suite just gave us a flat screen tv rather than a box tv. Overall, not a bad place to stay if you just need it to sleep. The center of town is very close so you don't have to drive too far to get to where you need

Great location but our room was on the side building and looked very dated. Small room. Dirty carpet. Bad breakfast and sad indoor water park. Glorified sprinklers. Beach was beautiful but will not stay at this one again. Disappointed.

Great deal for being able to share 3 indoor waterparks with other hotels. Not fancy but great inexpensive room for having access to waterpark.

This hotel was fine for what we needed it for. Although the waterpark in the name is misleading, I would call that a splash pad. The good thing is that they give you access to two other hotel water parks when you check in.

We show up at the hotel and border patrol is arresting three guys we get the key to our room and there is hair all over the bed and the blankets are old and ratty looking so when we told them they gave us another room witch the had to reclean for the same reason as the last room so this room was cleaned twice but when we went to make coffee the old filter was in it and the pot was half full and the staff was so rude we almost just left and came home

Given "suite" at last minute reservation. Good free breakfast at motel next door. Free waterpark passes at motel three doors down. Nice view of Lake Huron. Three lamps didn't work, room worn and overpriced.

My trip was an overnight with my 16 yet old grandson and a cousin. They were looking forward to what was described as the Arcade. It should have been listed as "Archatic". Games were outdated and only 2 of 4 were in working order. Also advertised the Lazy River, consists of a large hot tub with a jet in the middle to spray without any tubes. The weight room , arcade and breakfast bar were located at another hotel next door to ours which meant leaving the property and walking to another location. Not very convenient .

It was clean, great amenities, and beachfront! Much more than we expected.

Hotel was in a great location for the price bundled with my rewards. The room was clean but the balacony had cob webs on the exterior.

The hotel was clean and in good shape. Room smelled good, and the hotel staff were quick at their jobs. Big bonus for families - hotel includes a very large hot tub and a great waterpark for kids. My 2 and 6 year olds kept themselves amused for a good couple hours, and didn't even want to use the standard hotel pool, located in a separate building... even though they usually beeline for the pool at hotels. I'll stay here again next time we're in Mackinaw. BTW, the small Mackinaw downtown is less than a mile away from the hotel. Very convenient.

Staff was friendly. Awesome value. Lake view is beautiful. Jacuzzi is huge!

I reserved a jacuzzi room with a king bed but unfortunately we were informed upon arrival that the pump in the jacuzzi broke so they "upgraded" us to a suite but it didn't benefit us at all cuz we didn't even use the other room other than to walk thru it to get to the balcony. I didn't realize we wouldn't be able to see the bridge from our room..a definite bummer :-( I wish I would've thought to ask to be downgraded to a regular room so I could've maybe received some sort of refund for not getting a jacuzzi :-( Our room was pretty clean but the rest of the hotel was very run down & dirty..it was no wonder the pool room was empty! U could see dirt all over the bottom of the pool! The water park was ok but the ceiling had rust all over it & there was duct tape on a few things :-( Needless to say we will never be going back to this hotel :-(

We enjoyed very much . Older place, no elevator, but great value, would stay there again.
