Why would you ever make me a reservation with the hotel that is not open?

Made reservation through orbitz. If hotel knew they were closed for the season they should have let orbitz know. Both are guilty and we don't like to play games.

This hotel was nothing special - but, it served a purpose. The facility was 'tired and worn'.

Moved us to another Hotel across the street, stating, that they are overbooked.

The walls need repainting, wallpaper is peeling, slow drains, several dehumidifiers running in the staircase to pool. Not on the water.

Ah adequate hotel, disappointed that breakfast did not start until 7:00 AM, which is a little late for those who need an early start. Also disappointed that there were no convenient power outlets, i.e. on the desk or bedside table. No stopper in the sink.

Bathroom wall paper was peeling. Water had a yellow tint. Don't know if that's normal in the area since this was my first time.

Price was my main reason for staying here. It is a bit off the beaten path for the main sights in Mackinaw City. That being said, it's definitely a budget hotel. The decor is very dated. Carpet in dire need of replacement. There were still shavings from the beard of a previous occupant around the soap dish and in the shower. Does not appear that much time was spent readying the room. The breakfast felt like yesterday's leftovers. Thankfully I stayed last year and remember the way to the other hotel through the third floor. Same options for breakfast but much fresher. If you are looking for a cozy stay while in mackinaw city look elsewhere. If price is what counts stay here by all means. But you get what you pay for.

Nothing fancy but it was clean and the breakfast was decent

We just returned from our stay at the Bayside Hotel, and it was not a pleasant experience. The hotel room wreaked of urine, so after we put our bags down and used the stinky restroom, I walked downstairs to let them know. They said they couldn't give us another room because they were full and housekeeping already left. They did offer an air cleaner thing and spray, which neither helped the smell. The tub was clogged, the floors were sticky, the room didn't have a fridge or microwave and the internet didn't work half of our stay. We came back from Mackinaw Island at 4pm on day 2 of our stay, and housekeeping hadn't cleaned our room yet. The 25' breakfast buffet was a joke... Nothing fresh on the buffet, just bread (bagels, cereal, waffles, biscuits) and then sausage, gravy and canned fruit), along with OJ, milk and coffee. Typical standard basic breakfast buffet at least has some fresh bananas, apples and yogurt. Nothing like that there. On a positive note, the staff was very helpful and nice. You also get to use an indoor water park at another hotel free of charge. It's not fantastic, but it's something because you need to rinse off after staying at this place. We paid $140 (w/tax) per night to stay in this nasty 2 star hotel. Very disappointed.

The location was great. This was close to shopping, attractions and all of the Ferry's to the island. The room was decent but could use some updating.

I was happy about the room cleanliness. because the facility looks a little old i didn't have high expectations but it turned out the room is very clean. the beds doesn't smell like others. also, there's free breakfast and food is ok. almost everything is fine but the receptionist. i was expecting at least a good treatment but she didn't have that hospitable, welcoming personality.

The location is just perfect with just a few minutes away from all the important things in the city. The breakfast line was a little long but after waiting for a few minutes , it was all fine.Clean rooms , big bathrooms .Would defenitely recommend

We went to explore the city and island and also enjoyed our stay. Pool/hot tub/ sauna/ waterpark were all nice to have. Breakfast was typical free hotel breakfast, with long lines. Overall enjoyed our stay for a young couple.

It was a good experience overall. Within walking distance of just about everything in the City. Recently updated and combined with Comfort Suites, next door. Indoor water park (with separate indoor pool, giant hot tub, and sauna) and HOT buffet style breakfast (not advertised on website) an added bonus to the stay Still needs some finishing touches, but I would definitely stay there again.

I stayed here for a few days with some friends. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was great. The continental breakfast wasn't anything special, but for a free breakfast it was good. The hotel is right across the street from the ferry docks, and is walking distance from some great shops and restaurants. The pool was nice, but it is a bit of a maze to get there. Overall, the hotel is great for the price you pay. I would definitely recommend to a friend.

Stayed here 1 night and had no complaints. Comfortable beds, super nice front desk. Breakfast was below average, but otherwise, would stay here again.

Hallways and Windows were filthy. Cobb webs were hanging from sprinkle heads. Comforter in room had stains. Breakfast bar was ok but simple at best and not filled due to low staffing levels.

Great location, clean & comfortable room, friendly staff Breakfast was crowded because it it shared with attached hotel but returned a little later and was no problem then. Great value for the price.

We booked the hotel off the island as a way to cut expense. Hotels on the island were too expensive to book. The location was great because it literally was across the street from Arnold's Ferry. This gave us the convince and confidence that we could get on the Island without sacrificing our budget. The hotel room was clean and offered a blow dryer and iron with iron board which was great for us since we needed these items for getting ready to attend a wedding. Great for your budget. Its not the Ritz but it was clean and comfortable.
