Radisson Blu Strand Hotel, Stockholm

4.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

The staff was super friendly and the breakfast was terrific! Even though the rooms were European small, they were clean with all you need. The best was the location - on the water and within walking distance of all major city tourist sites. Will stay here again.

Good Location, nice rooms, internet isn't great. Didn't use the restaurants .. but interacted with their staff who were very helpful. Room was fantastic !

This hotel is labeled as a five star property. Perhaps it was in its day. Today...not so much. It is past its prime and needs to lose a star or two. Then, expectations would be met or exceeded.

Stayed at the Strand Hotel for one night after our cruise and before heading back to the U.S.. Very good location for sightseeing, restaurants, and bars. Room was in the "old" wing and very small. Tiny would be a good description. Price was excellent for a Stockholm hotel. Would have been very upset if staying for more than one night. During the summer, breakfast service doesn't start until 7:30am. Many flights to the U.S. leave mid-morning, so you can't take advantage of the hotel breakfast.

The hotel is perfectly situated in Stockholm. Very close to the water and old town as well as the areas for great restaurants / bars.

I paid $300 USD for a TINY single room. I have never experienced claustrophobia and perhaps I'm exaggerating a bit, but my plan to arrive and just work in the room was overcome with claustrophobia. Excluding the bathroom and entryway, the room was about 8' x 8' ... same size as a jail cell. It barely fit one twin bed. I gave in after 5 minutes and paid another $35 for a standard room. It's still small (admittedly so by front desk), but at least it doesn't feel like the walls are closing in on you. If you stay here, don't go for the single. And if this is what jail feels like, I'll be good from now on, I promise!! As for cleanliness, no complaints other than the urine stains on the toilet bowl from a previous guest.

Wonderful location, breakfast, concierge service etc. All top notch.

good location, ugly hall

Everyone talks about the Grand Hotel in Stockholm - its grandeur, location, and views. In our opinion, the Strand had a better location, views and was quieter at half the price. Our recommendation: stay at the Strand and visit the Grand.

A great hotel for our last evening after three weeks of travel and eight different lodgings. When we were first given our room it contained only one bed so they upgraded us to a business class room. Very spacious with modern decor, including espresso maker. Great location just three minutes walk from Gamla Stan island. If room had AC, would have given five stars.

Excellent Location and wonderful feel of the room with a ship cabin like feel. The room was a little small but overall the service was excellent.

The Radison Strand turned out to be a good choice for our family trip to Stockolm. Hotel's location was very convenient, in a great part of the city. Hotel staff were friendly and ready to solve all our problems quickly. To sum-up, when we make our next trip to Stockholm if we get good nightly rates from Radisson Strand it will definitely be our first choice.
