Had some bad experiences in this Restaurant in the past but decided to give it a try under new management. The new decor looks very good, the staff we met were trying hard and were pleasant. We must have waited about 10 minutes to get a table even though there was only 4 people in. When we got our main meals one of them had to be returned as it was cold ! In my opinion there was not enough food on the plates, fancy will not last in Bo'ness. Wasn't expensive but certainly expected more food on the plate, I thought the child's meal was meagre also. I ended up with a cold sore and I am sure this must have been from the glass or dirty silverware as I am very cautious. I had also visited one evening a couple of weeks earlier and the Lager was flat.. the bar man didn't know how to fix this ! I hope this place improves or it will end up as poor as it has been for the past decade. Not sure if I will use restaurant again,

My husband I stayed her whilst visiting family . After reading the reviews we were not really expecting much from our stay here, but we were in for a surprise ! Yes the rooms are dated , but they are in the process of a refurbishment, and if the standard of the restaurant is anything to go by this hotel is going to be an absolute treasure. We ate in the restaurant on the Friday night and the food was outstanding, breakfast in the morning was lovely. But what really makes this hotel is the people , Neil the manager and Ross , are the nicest people you could meet, nothing is too much trouble for them, they go out of their way to make your stay as pleasurable as possible, always happy to stop and have a chat ( and a drink ). We couldn’t recommend this hotel enough . We definitely will be returning .. Looking forward to their next phase in their refurbishment.

Food was awful, staff were unhelpful and offered no recourse to my complaints. Would not advise anyone to dine at this establishment and will never return and advise all my friends and associates likewise.

The hotel is in the middle of an upgrade at the moment and the staff are trying their best. The rooms still need a lot of work as they look as if they haven't been touched for a long time. The manager told us that they are next to be done so that will help. The food in the evening was tremendous with no complaints but the breakfast could have been better as they seem to use the cheapest sausage and bacon available. The drinks in the bar were all reasonably priced and the staff all very friendly.

The hotel has just recently been taken over and the new owners are pulling out all the stops to transform the place. We had a meal and couldn't fault it, steak cooked perfectly as requested, full meal was lovely and very well presented.{new chef & new menu being introduced} In a short space of time they have transformed the restaurant area and the once bar/sports area is now very modern comfortable lounge area for a quite drink. Two new tv,s fitted in bottom area for sports, all in all work is still in progress refurbishing the hotel but so far the transformation has been first class. A very tired hotel being brought back to life!!!, Definitely worth a visit for a quite drink or a meal.

What a difference in the food! I went with family for lunch. The servers were very attentive. The menu, although restricted because of the renovations, was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be back and cannot recommend highly enough. If this is a taste of what is to come them I cannot wait. They have definitely put Bo'ness on the map with the chef they have.

Staff were lovely and helpful and the bed was quite clean but the room was falling apart, walls peeling, tv broken with stains all over the walls. Breakfast was near inedible! My parents room was a little nicer and they had a lovely dinner the night before so maybe I got the worst room but overall the staff made it a nice experience.

There were no free hotels in Linlithgow so we opted for this nearby hotel in Bo'ness. I believe the hotel is under new ownership - the staff couldn't do enough for us. They kept the restaurant and bar open for our party of 8 which I thought was excellent service. Reasonable hotel rates and breakfast was top dollar. Great hotel to put your head down for a few hours on a short break weekend.

Good value hotel with very friendly helpful staff , We had rooms above the bar over a weekend and there was very little noise. Had a really good meal in the restaurant on the Friday night ( Steak pie is excellent ) and breakfast is also good with lots of choice. and at a civilised time at the weekends. Beds very comfortable and clean as were the rooms .Decent parking and location The rooms could do with some refurbishment and the décor/ fittings are a bit tired but we had a very comfortable stay and will definitely go back

I was staying here with an American film crew, there were 7 of us in total. None of us had a proper working shower - 5 were just a trickle and 2 didn't work at all, 1 even got stuck on the boiling hot tap and one member of the crew burnt his hand. The rooms were dirty and my toilet seat looked like it had excrement on it on the lid. We ate at the restaurant too and the food was fine but the service was very very slow. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.
