Pretty place with great potential, but little care for the details. Best of the best: The Kitchens are superb, beautiful granite, nice layout with an island, and well stocked with pans, etc. Dining Room table seats 6. Plus 2 Bar stools. And Underground Parking in Buildings 5 and 6. Now the less fab: Hardest Bed imaginable. 3 Computers in the Business office, but 2 were down my entire stay, and the 3rd went down during the stay. Grime on the shower floors. The layout is a bit strange with a tiny living room that seats 5. Barely. No garden tub in the master. Regular tub with jets. The balcony is off the 2nd bedroom with access from the living room. The lighting is VERY dim. The fireplace has no controls, so you leave it as is. Shuttle takes you to the ski resort. Period. Why can't it take you to the nearest bus stop? There is a free bus around town, but it's .3 mile walk from the buildings, and during winter that is across parking lots not well lit, and across a field that ices over. The shuttle will take you to the ski resort, which has a bus stop there, but is in the opposite direction of town, so if you are going each day, that's a lot of wasted time. I believe the management here can do better. And I believe some of these things are odd layout issues. ps, no activities at the property. WHY??? Pool was closed of course, and they had several hot tubs. I believe they were all open.
Best place to stay in Steamboat Colorado. We loved the snow, the rooms, and the hospitality. We will defiantly be coming back again. Would love to come in the summer to enjoy more views. I defently recommend this place.
A great place to stay, excellent accommodations and close to quaint shops, water fun, dance and music bars and amazing food! We visited for our annual girlfriend getaway and it did not disappoint! Definitely recommend a visit to Steamboat!!
.......the unit was so homey and lovely I had a hard time leaving!! From check-in until check-out every person I encountered was smiling and helpful. My special request for a mountain view was met, as well as that for a top floor room. The master suite was huge - great, deep bathtub. I never even went to the hot tub - such a nice soaker right in my room. The gas fireplace was easy to operate and very welcome on the evening of unexpected snow fall - as was the underground parking with elevators straight to the floors. And everything was spotless, with all the dishes, pots and pans, and utensils you would want or expect. Outside, there were many families with children enjoying the fabulous weather, grounds, and bar-b-q pits, but my room was so quiet, I never heard a peep to indicate there was that degree of activity. It is a short ride to the bicycle trail that goes into town. And I must tell you, the Bud Werner Memorial Library towards the end was an unexpected delight. Teeming with activity, featuring a charming coffee and pastry nook, and an upstairs reading area with huge panoramic windows for great lighting and views. A community treasure. This resort team's goal was as stated: "To provide you with exceptional service and an outstanding unit to unwind in during your stay." That goal was completely met. A fall getaway is important to me to relax before the stress of the holidays. Quiet and beautiful - Steamboat Springs and Wyndham Vacation Resorts delivered.
Very nice 2 bedroom unit. Both bedrooms have king size beds and en-suite bathrooms. There is also a den with 2 twin beds and a 3rd bathroom. This unit has a hot tub, grill, and gas fireplace out on the private patio. Something I feel folks need to know is the entry into this unit is through the patio. There is not an "inside" entrance. It is an outside entrance and to get to it from the parking garage, you exit the garage, walk through a lobby, go out the door and around to the gate to the patio. This could be inconvenient if the weather is bad and you're trying to move in or out of the unit. The parking garage is on the same level. I would consider this unit somewhat like a walk out basement. It was very nice though and had everything one could need. We were just surprised with the entry.
Facility is very nice! Close to town, grocery stores, etc. Room was comfortable and well decorated. The side we were on had quite a bit of road noise though. Nice walking tracks, sauna, fire pit, etc. would definitely stay here again.
We had never been to Steamboat Springs and found this place on the web. It turned out to be great for a summer vacation. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. We looked out over the outdoor pool which was great for the kids. They also have a rec area with computers/printers, a pool table and a fitness room. It wasn't very crowded when we were there so parking was plentiful. We also used the well maintained barbecues many nights. There was a large fire pit and picnic tables by the BBQs. Very critically, the Wi-Fi was fast enough for all of us to stream programs at night. There are tons of things to do in Steamboat, but I'd like to highlight a few. We went to the nearby miniature golf course that also had a run-around maze called Amaze'n. I think we went there 4 times in our week as we could go for a short time. They have a great discount for return visits so save your scorecard & time sheet. The maze was an especially big hit; you clock in and out of the maze using a timecard system. You have to complete 4 tasks and they give prizes based on your finishing times. My super competitive boys were addicted and still talk about it. Close to the golf was a nice fishing spot called Fetcher's Pond. My older son got hooked on fishing, largely based on the fact that he rarely had to wait more than five minutes to catch a fish. They had stocked it recently, but you need to get there early for the really hungry fish. We just bought poles & tackle a Wal-Mart across the highway. Also nearby is the Botanic Garden, which is a beautiful retreat. It has a lot of instructive signs and the plant collection is nice My most memorable activity was the sunset on the mountain. You take the ski gondola to the mountaintop lodge where they have food, drinks and music. The view is gorgeous, but it sells out so get in line early.
We just returned from a week in Steamboat. We have stayed (traded through RCI) for other Wyndham Resorts in the past. They are always well maintained with friendly helpful staff. Any issue that arise during your stay will be quickly addressed. We had TV issues and the ac started leaking our first night. The staff quickly took care of this. This particular property is close to the ski area/gondola. And a 5 minute drive from town. Good restaurants to choose from downtown, and a few activities close by, i.e. Strawberry Hotsprings, botanical garden, and of course hiking. Prices for things can be considered standard for a resort community. This time of year your activities are limited to hiking, but we saw many people with mountain bikes up on the mountain. The gondola has racks to carry your bikes to the top. The gondola only runs Friday through Sunday this time of year. All in all a most relaxing vacay at this resort. It seems Wyndham has another property called the Grand which looks very nice. We may look into that one in the future.
Friendly folks, great room at a fair price, close enough to downtown, cozy fireplace for cool mornings. The staff gave us great recommendations for dining. We felt like we owned the place. We didn't want to leave!
Our building #2 has underground Parking the building across from us (#1) has outdoor parking and outdoor entrance and no elevators we believe. We have a elevator and inside entrance. This would make a difference in the winter season. We have a king bed, full kitchen W/D, AC, fireplace, nice size bathroom, living area,& bedroom. We were on the 1st floor above parking garage, There are 6 buildings at this resort and very close to the ski slopes, less than a mile away. This is a divided property between Wyndham, Diamond, & Worldmark companies. I am a Diamond owner but still had to pay $25.00 for wifi for the week. This I was unhappy with but all I was told was Sorry!! That was a big negative for me. The first time I had to pay for WIFI at a resort. Just beware of this if you use WIFI
