We had 2 bedroom condo overlooking the mountain! The perfect condo for a long or short stay. Really liked that the table could easily seat 8 people. The kitchen had everything plus extras and of course coffee and tea ready to go. Hot chocolate and cookies when we checked in was a nice touch for the kids. We truly appreciated the underground parking for loading and unloading. The view of the ski hill from the second floor was awesome. The best part was walking through the hotel right onto the snow. We did not even have to cross the street! Great for groups or older kids who might want to get our earlier than adults. Even families with little kids, as it would be no problem to stop have lunch and take a nap and then go back out. Can't say enough about how nice it is to have ski in and ski out.
I just returned from a wonderful trip to Steamboat and we stayed at Torian Plum - condo #615. First - this condo is marked as a 2 bedroom but in reality it's 3 beds because of a "den" with an ensuite bathroom, closet and bunk beds but does not have a window so it can't be marketed as a bedroom. Second - because of this extra "bedroom" we easily fit 3 adults and 2 kids in this condo NEVER feeling crowded. Third - We had a non-skiing adult in our group and this property is RIGHT at the base of the mountain and connected to loads of things so our non-skier could easily pop around, walk, do things, visit spas etc. YES there are plentiful shuttles but her flexibility was greatly increased by the proximity to base village Fourth - One of the best places to eat and apres ski is Slopeside Grill which is basically a part of Torian Plum! (I mean, not really but the two are literally right next to each other) Fifth - convenient ski lockers to drop your stuff RIGHT by the hot tubs - all FOUR HOT TUBS. Skiing by lots of other condos and I didn't see any with four large full-size hot tubs! Sixth - Large fluffy robes for everyone. I feel like that's a rarity at hotels anymore. Finally - we nearly booked a different condo that was definitely newer and probably a bit "fancier". As it turned our friends of ours were staying at that exact condo while we were there and we went over for dinner one night. By comparison, this building was nicer. It was newer. The finishes, furniture and decor was all newer and nicer than Torian Plum - BUT it was MUCH smaller and further up the hill making it less convenient. For us - in the end, we could get a much bigger place, closer to all the action for less $ by staying at the Torian. Sure there are newer fancier places on the hill but you cannot beat Torian's location!
This was our first time in Steamboat. We selected Torian Plum for the value, location, and room size. We were given Room 304 Plaza building. It was clean, very spacious, and in a good location for ski in/out. Good mountain view if you step out on the balcony. Kitchen was stocked with everything you need and there were lots of extra towels. I was surprised there was no housekeeping services during our stay, but maybe thats normal here. Beds were comfortable but very poor lighting in the master bedroom. And the electric heat was a little difficult to control. A short walk to gondola square. Staff was very friendly and shuttle service was always available with only a short wait. Good wi-fi!! Very convenient having a ski locker right outside of unit. Did use the indoor hot tubs in the Plaza building, but only one seem to be working. It was a little to cold to walk over to the outdoor ones! I do feel that updates are really needed to make it even better. We also enjoyed eating at Los Locos, Slopeside Grill, and Paramount. overall a good pick and would consider staying here again.
We've stayed at the Torian Plum before, and would go back again if things improve in Steamboat itself. The location is perfect - ski in/ski out - and right next door to the Slopeside Grill, the ideal place to finish a hard days skiing. Unfortunately we felt the resort itself had gone downhill since we were last there 4 years ago. Money needs to be spent upgrading the facilities and better managing the resort - its looking very tired. We paid for a Platinum room in the Torian Plum (room 615), but it turned out to be inferior to the standard room our friends had on level 4 (room 413). I think this is symptomatic of the resort as a whole. When it was first built, room 615 was one of the best apartments in the Creekside block, but nothing has been done to it since. We pointed this out to the operators, and they have subsequently arranged a refund in the significant cost difference.
This was a nice quality condo with clean, working appliances, washer drier and nicely furnished. It’s ski in-out location was perfect for our family of four including two grade school aged skiers. Access to ski school and the gondola was quick and there were plenty of nearby ski shops for last minute purchases.
We were in condo 803 on the top floor of the building, and this meant a spacious unit with high ceilings overlooking the slopes and gondola. The 2 bedroomed unit was a bit dated inside but was clean. The comments from others in reviews mainly applied, such as reasonably good wifi, comfortable beds etc. The points that need improving though are somewhat dull lighting and apartment servicing. We stayed a week and housekeeping turned up once. When we asked that they return a little later as it was early and one of our group was unwell, they said they'd check with the supervisor. We never saw the cleaning staff again. At one point we had to ring reception to arrange rubbish removal from the kitchen, and this still didn't ring any bells for them. At checkout we were told we should have requested cleaning! We didn't think that was up to us .... In all, a pretty good stay, but they need to be more focused on what services need to be provided.
Well located complex, very convenient to the slopes and slope side restaurants, they are right outside the back door. We really enjoyed the surprise Friday night cocktail hour, the shuttle and the size of our condo. The staff was very friendly and helpful, always happy and smiling and ready with great local recommendations. The shuttle service was very user friendly and took us everywhere we wanted to go. There is no real need for a car, the shuttle can take you to dinner, the grocery store or any other nearby spots. Each condo is individually owned, decorated and updated but each is large, well maintained and clean. They provided a starter kit of basic supplies like coffee, dish soap and laundry detergent that were perfect for our short stay. There were plenty of towels and pillows and the kitchen had plenty of basic cook and service ware. I would highly recommend this condo complex for the value and location.
This was our families fourth time to stay at Torian/Creekside. It is an ideal location, very clean and comfortable. Very comfortable bed and spotless bathrooms, very well maintained. Ski equipment lockers or closets are available for each unit, and everything you need is within steps of the location. The shuttle service has been outstanding.
Really friendly and helpful staff. Cleaning staff friendly and helpful. A bit old fashioned but ok. Fast Wifi. Second bedroom small as was the main bathroom. Reasonably clean and tidy. Outside secure room for ski storage. Regular shuttle service into town. Easy access to ski slopes. Internal laundry. No electric kettle or teapot. The light fitting over the dining table was positioned too low - kept on hitting it with my head!
This was our second visit to Steamboat & to Torian Plum. Torian Plum is ideally located at the end of a ski run with excellent ski in / ski out access. There's even a choice of places for a well earned apres drink before heading inside! All staff are pleasant & helpful, but a special mention should be made of the housekeeping staff! These people do a great job & are always cheerful. Whilst the decor is a little dated, our room had a lovely view of the slopes & was well appointed with quality bedlinen, towels etc. All amenities provided were in good working order. We didn't use the pool or spa, but they do look good. Steamboat village has an excellent on demand shuttle service with some fabulous drivers who are always willing to go out of their way to make life more pleasant & interesting. One driver took us well out of his way to show us some moose who were resting near another condo. Amazing! Steamboat is also blessed with some fabulous restaurants, among those are Laundry & Salt & Lime. There are some great shops, such as FM Light & some fun shopping to be had. Steamboat has been on our bucket list for nearly 30 years & it is as wonderful as we had always hoped & dreamed it would be.
