Stayed here years ago and if I had remember I would have not stayed here again, Tried to. Put me in the smallest room ever with 2 single beds pushed togeyer, Went and spoke to reception and they agreed to move me only because I pointed out I booked a double room No restaurant you can only get pizza delivered, this was rotten and went in bin, Think this needs a revamp, nothing around in the immediate area you are alone Won't be back
Many people end a review with "Will stay here again". Well, as it turns out, I am staying here again - this is my second stay. Many people including myself generally avoid low budget hotels like the plague unless they cannot afford to otherwise. On my previous visit, I knew that I would have a vehicle with me, and I needed a hotel that provided such parking. The fact that parking is free is a bonus, it's not easy to find a hotel that provides free, ample parking like this one does. In addition to my need for parking, I also wanted to be in easy driving distance to Rennesøy. This hotel is just off the E39 towards Bergen, making it most convenient. The E39 towards Stavanger and Kristiansand is also within a very short distance, for those people who need to get to Forus, Sandnes or other closeby places. Sadly, this hotel does not serve any dinner or lunch, but the buffet breakfast is more than ample. There is also hot food as well as the traditional bread and spreads, as well as tea/coffee and juices. The hotel staff however are very accommodating and they were more than happy to heat up my hot dogs for me. Food emporiums such as Pizzabakeren and Dominos do deliver - and presumably Eat.no will also deliver. If you have a car, it's a quick 10 minute trip into central Stavanger where you can have a choice of many different restaurants. Single rooms can be a bit on the tiny side. My first stay was in such a room, but apart from the size I didn't have any other complaints. My current room is a larger one and I'm very happy with that. There is no minibar/fridge or coffee/tea making facilities in the room. At the reception however there is a chance to purchase some soda and candy. The nicest feature I have found about the room is that there are black out curtains which are extremely effective, and therefore provide me a very good nights sleep. I cannot hear cars outside, and it's so quiet you might think that the world has stopped. There is also an indoor swimming pool here which I intend to avail myself of at some point. I did not bring my trunks last time, but I have this time round. There is parking right outside reception, and a huge overflow car park next to the building. If you don't need much in the way of facilities, and you just need a bed, desk, shower, toilet, ample hanging space then you need not pay over 1000 NOK a night when you can get it for less. Bringing a car? Then you're going to fit in just perfectly. You know when you walk in to check in and the manageress comes down the stairs and says "Nice to have you back". It surely is nice to be back :)
When you first drive in it doesn't look much from the outside. Do not let this deter you. As you enter the front Lobby, the reception desk if in front of you. The staff were quick at checking us in. After settling in, we went back to the front desk asking for some direction for grocery store so that we could get some food and beer. They quickly gave us a few options. The rooms are able to accommodate single person up to and including family of 4 to 5. The rooms are really clean but the bathrooms are really narrow. There were 4 rooms for 4 adults and every room had a different type bathroom. A real nice feature is that every bathroom floors are heated. They have Single beds, double beds, stack up beds, fold out couches, futon. They have a breakfast style buffet which has plenty for all. Cereal, eggs, yogurt..... They have also a pool. While there they open up the bar so that we could get some refreshments. They advertise a restaurant but didn't get to use it. For Supper we, again, use the front desk to ask about pizza. They recommended a certain Pizzeria but we couldn't read the menu so she translated for us. There recommendation was outstanding. Great pizza and tasted even better. It is a little bit out of the way. They are 3.5 to 4.5 Km away from Old Stavanger City. 45 min walk, 10 - 15 min drive or 2.2 - 2.5 Miles. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone. It is fairly priced for the area.
This hotel is a very good choice. It is in a nice location with a nice view, the service is good enough and the rooms are comfortable and attentive. The breakfast is rich in dishes. And the price of the rooms are at normal levels
Fairly standard hotel. Clean rooms with comfortable beds, rather small bathroom but functional. Very nice breakfast in the morning with hot breakfast options as well. Free parking provided on site. Be aware that the hotel is well outside of the city center. I was traveling with car so was not an issue for me and I'm not aware of the proximity to public transportation options. My one complaint is poor wi-fi signal in the rooms, good in the lobby. Overall a very good value by Norway standards.
Alsto located just outside centre, short distanse to Sandnes and Stavanger. Recomend to have a car, Easy parking right outside. Big rooms and good beds. It is a economic hotell ,but still good rooms. Could be better breakfast .....not very fresh....
We stayed for one night. Hotel decor is not modern, a bit dark inside, but functional. Room was large and clean (lighting not the best); but price was reasonable for what we got Really enjoyed the swimming pool. Tea/Coffee was available in the breakfast area at all times (can take back to room) and breakfast was reasonable. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Easy drive to the port and good parking area outside.
This hotel is very much out of town, you will need to take the bus (which is several blocks away) or a cab to the city center. The decor is dark- the walls are painted black. The bed was clean. but the bathroom was horrific. It looked like a dorm bathroom and I was disgusted having to shower in bare feet. The bathroom has never seen bleach a day in its existence. The bathroom was also so small that my knees hit the wall when I used the toilet, and I am only 5'3" and 115 pounds so that was not necessary. However, the staff was excellent (minus that there was no one present when we went to check out in the morning) and the breakfast was the best I had during my time in Oslo. Bottom line is that you get exactly what you pay for with this hotel, and the price was the cheapest I could find in Stavanger.
This hotel was clean, safe and neat with a comfy bed and nice room. I couldn't get the wifi to work well, but that did seem particular to my phone. The pool is nice but much smaller than pictures indicate. I can't say anything at all was wrong and breakfast was good but I felt the staff weren't genuinely interested - e.g., didn't give you a map of the town or an indication where breakfast would be, just let you find it all, and it was the last day until I found the hot water! There were very limited directions to the hotel from the bus stop or to find the right bus stop (and this hotel is definitely out of town if you're on foot with bags. Not walking distance). I also left early to catch the bus in to town for an 8 am trip and missed breakfast. No interest shown in making me up a sandwich or anything. Like I said. No complaints with the room or the staff, just underwhelmed. You need to pay extra for the laundry service but you do it yourself. It's out of it's price range in my opinion.
We stayed here 4 nights to explore Stavanger region. The room is fairly big and comfortable. Staffs are friendly and breakfast is pretty good. Free carpark and a short 10-15mins to town and ferry terminal to Tau (to Pulpit Rock). However, we were given rooms at the basement, room 505, directly below the rest area near the reception. We can hear the kids stomping around. Also, can hear the vehicles and bikers driving and riding near the road. Lastly, the bathroom shower drainage is mildly choke, and hence the water builds up and flood the shower area. Hence, we have to turn off the GAP for the water to drain before turning on again.
