Stayed for only one night visiting family. The place is very run down. Found hair on toilet. Floor had several spots on carpet. Bed was uncomfortable. The only thing good about it was it was cheap. Would not stay by myself.

This is definitely not a 4-start hotel, but it's very nice for the price. Room was clean with small refrigerator, microwave and free wifi.

There was only two issues I had with this hotel. 1. there wasnt an alarm clock in the room and 2. they have doors joining the rooms together with a small lock on it. didnt feel too safe but it was ok other than that

It was an ok hotel.but thats what i paid for and thats what I got.

We had a pleasant stay. King mattress was very comfortable. Room seemed clean. Shower was fine (no tub but we wouldn't have used one anyway). Liked the mini fridge and microwave in room. Had to ask for coffee for the coffee pot. Location was just over a mile from downtown, where we had an event for the weekend, so very convenient. Nothing fancy, but worked with our budget and needs so we would stay again.

My brother and I were driving the Blue Ridge Parkway and chose this hotel as our starting point. The other reviews scared us, but the staff was friendly and the room was not nearly as bad as indicated by some of the other travellers below. True, it's old, but more in charming way than in a bad way. We stayed one night. It was perfectly adequate and would stay there again.

Old Motel, room was clean, management was very nice to us. I stayed there for a ski trip to Wintergreen. I would stay again.

At the last minute I decided I wanted to go to UVA'S home coming, needless to say every hotel in the area was booked. I went on to search hotels near Charlottesville and I found DBM. The reviews were pretty good so I booked. I should have taken the 3.5 hour drive back home after the game. We arrived at the motel, my daughter thought the place looked like one of those motels you see in a movie where killings occur. Once inside the room it had this old smell like no one had been there in a very long time. Dust was every where, cob webs were on the walls and ceiling, the bathrooms had broken up tiles and the floors were very dirty. The entry doors looked like someone had tried to break in. The best thing I can say about this place was it did have tooth paste and a razor. It also had a microwave and fridge, which had something in the freezer that had been in there who knows how long. mentio

This is an older motel with rates you can afford - Why pay higher for a place to bathe and sleep? It is quiet - has a refrigerator, microwave, large TV, comfortable beds, etc. The manager was very friendly and as always, this is the motel we will always stay at.

The motel is in the middle of town, right on main street. Motel was clean. Needs some updating.

dirty sheets with people's hair on the pillows they gave me clean ones when i aske. Bathroom is victorian era old. Was not clean. I saw blood stain on toilet. no light in the standup shower

The room was dirty, not well maintained and it was a nosy location.

I was nervous after reading some of the other reviews. However, I was quite pleased with this motel. It had a 50s charm (pink and gray bathroom, solid cermic free-standing sink) and had none of today's cookie cutter, mass produced style. The shower (no tub) was the size of a closet. It wasn't a fiber glass enclosure but a little ceramic tile room off of the bathroom. Only problem was that the door to the bathroom stuck. The main room itself was quite roomy too. It had interesting wall paper and even a chair rail. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a basic good place to stay for the night.
