Not sure why the reviews are so terrible, the room was clean and perfect for what we needed. If you are a light sleeper probably not the best place to get rest as there was a lot of random noises through the night. Breakfast is basic with English muffins and juices It was a nice stay.
This hotel was very accommodating for this visit. The people were friendly and welcoming! The room was new (you could still smell fresh wood…maybe the new floors) clean, I felt safe and the air conditioner was the best!!! I LOVED that, like at home, I could set the temperature and it worked well. I felt safe, and it was a VERY convenient location. Across from a Wal Mart and a lot of eating places within the area (still recommend Mrs Rowe's). May need something at the bottom of the door as I could see light...looks a bit "antiquated" from the outside than it is from the inside (although the refridge had a duct tape handle). I DID request this room on my return trip the following week.
We stayed here when we got a late night flat nearby. We checked in really late and left early, so we were only there a short amount of time. Unfortunately though, it was plenty of time to fully experience what can only be described as the strangest hotel room smell I've ever smelled. Seemed clean enough though. Overall, I'd look elsewhere.
I give this budget motel a very good rating because of two major factors- it is clean and safe. Located off Exit 222 on I-81, this motel is on the low end of accommodations, but it is close to the Interstate and many restaurants. The rooms have a frig, microwave and hair dryers. The TV and WiFi work well. Why spend more money when traveling through?
We stayed for 3 nights, as we are moving to the area soon and needed to come and look for housing. The handicapped room (our son uses a wheelchair) was very clean. Mattresses were firm. We made liberal use of the wi-fi and made local calls to set up appointments to see real estate and apartments. The fridge and the microwave helped us save $$ by fixing our own lunch and keep our drinks cold. All staff very friendly and helpful. Yes, it is very basic, but we wanted to save $$ and we did.
Basic motel. Room was clean and acceptable. Price was very good compared to area. I tried to get a room for one night (it was after 10pm) just outside Charlottesville and it was triple the price. It served my purpose which was a clean room for night after long day of driving from Florida. There is free "breakfast" but it was only cold cereal and mini banana nut muffins. There were English muffins as well. Coffee was good and hot. Plenty of restaurants around if you want a full breakfast.
You get what you pay for! Sadly I should've paid more for a better motel. Cons: Quite worn out and shabby. Dirty hall carpets. Pros: I paid $58 for a two bedded room, microwave and small fridge, convenient location near Frontier Culture museum.
The room is just acceptably clean. This might be enough, but not for the price we paid. If you are expecting even selection of continental breakfast items, you will be disappointed. The orange juice machine was fine. However, the bread consisted of some english muffins for toasting and only jelley as a topping. The coffee should have been labeled tea. I will not return.
I stayed here for five days last month. I live in the area but was having remodeling done on my house. I have a busy job so twice I was a bit late paying for the day the rude desk clerk said next time we were late our junk would be on sidewalk. Won't stay again.
Front desk person very friendly and helpful. pet friendly. Everything is very worn out but looks like they've tried to help with some paint. Room has a flat screen TV, older micro and fridge but at least they had them. I'd stay again if in the area.
