Charged £60 for parking via Parking Eye for a business lunch at this hotel. Thanks Holiday Inn but I will take my business elsewhere next time. If you really are insistent that this truly is not a money making exercise, perhaps your staff could mention this when we place an order for food.
Stayed here to break up a journey from Scotland to the Isle of Wight, and to visit family in Stoke, and we were very impressed by the staff throughout our stay. Check-in was easy and the lady on reception was chatty and genuinely natural. In the evening, there was a huge party going on in the hotel when we returned and a duty manager escorted us to our room to ensure we weren't inconvenienced by the large volumes of people/noise. We could not hear the noise in our room, and the room was very comfortable with tea, coffee, extra pillow, large comfy beds, etc. We were also very impressed with the staff at check-out. In short, nothing was too much trouble. We'll be back.
Really handy location just of motorway. All on 2 floors I think. Had a upgraded room but to be honest it had slippers and that’s about it over a normal one. Been recently painted but the wardrobe door was jammed and the bathroom door was damaged. A general air of yesteryear but in fairness it is an old hotel and they have done their best to modernise. Mini bar had water in it and small kitkat. Mattress was quite firm for me. Big TV and plenty of sockets. Not a place to treat the missus to but as a business stopover it’s fine
Our daughter treats her dad and l to a two night stay over new year. Once again l must say that the staff cant do enough for you and are so pleasant and helpful. The room is clean but basic and ideal for a base. The breakfast is adequate but there is no where near the choice that we have experienced at other Holiday Inns.
This is an ideal stop over if you want to break a journey from the North of England to London. It's straight off the M6 junction - and has free parking. I arrived at midnight as I set off from Windermere at 10pm. Staff we very courteous - and efficient. Didn't stop for breakfast as I wanted to get back on the road in the morning. The room was clean - and well presented - though some of the Decor was starting to look dated.
We stayed here for second year running for an overnight whilst we were travelling to visit family. It is a great spot just off the motorway & out of way of busyness of Manchester or Birmingham area. Rooms are comfortable & shower was good; but a little TLC needed to touch some areas of bathroom. This year we had to book an extra room at the last minute for a family member whose flight had been cancelled!! Breakfast is delicious also! We’ll definitely use it again if traveling in area.
We decided to break our journey by staying over night here. Cost for bed and breakfast £39. We did not expect much for that small amount, but what we got was amazing! A great nights sleep in a quiet room, with a very comfy bed. Very attentive staff, who were polite, very helpful and knowledgeable. The room and on suite bathroom was very clean. The breakfast would put any other hotel to shame. Cereals and a full English breakfast with fresh coffee and/or tea. Would we stay there again? Yes and happily for a week.
This morning felt like having a FULL hotel Breakfast so drive down to the Holiday Inn Lounge / Lobby at local Newcastle Under Lyme for a proper breakfast. We were to be greeted by very beautiful smiling and customer service oriented CHARYCE at the lounge. After taking the advance payment CHARYCE showed us to comfortable seating in the nicely decorate Christmas themed restaurant / Lobby. While we were there CHARYCE and Sally served are request for hot tea and conpliments as we helped ourselves to the buffet breakfast. Having worked in 11 contrived and 3 continents and having stayed in many 5 starts to 3 stars, it is seldom I see such lovely caring staff. CHARYCE is a start and makes Holiday Inn lounge a much better place, worth visiting again. Well done Holiday Inn in your staff and what I did like was the fact though it was 10:30 one of the staff came and asked CHARYCE that it is 10:30 and the kitchen is closing and would the guests like something else that is hot cooked before we close. Which CHARYCE came and checked with us. This is what I called the “the extra step” “that little bit more care”. Well done Holiday in stafff. VB
So we arrived to the holiday inn at stoke on Trent going to see the antiques shop or centre but we got given are room we good in to the room because we had two room and the first room had a broken sliding door and the other room had food and rubbish under the beds we were supremely uncomfortable with staying the rest of the night. But I will say because of the inconvenience they did give us some more drinks vouchers to spend at the bar or they would give us 4,000 more ihg points. I will say they need to start to clean there facilities more. Have a staff meeting about cleaning.
Room very pokey with no electric socket on one side of the bed. Lavatory constantly refilling until I poked around in the cistern! Could have kept us awake all night. Food less than average and not as listed on the menu. Brusque attitude to complaints - probably too used to them, Get the impression that they have all stopped trying as they rely on being next to the M6 for trade.
