The main reason we chose this hotel was because we were informed that it was walking distance from the ferry terminal. We had to take an early morning ferry to the British Virgin Islands and as advertised, it was a breeze for us to check out and walk down the street with our luggage to get to our ferry. Unfortunately, coinciding with our check-in to the hotel, was a large group of airline delayed passengers who were all given vouchers to stay at this same hotel. So, we had to stand in line and wait for nearly an hour to check-in while the single check-in clerk had to process all these delayed passengers and their vouchers. Once checked in, we had to rush up to our rooms and hit the restaurant on property because it was closing soon. Thankfully, the restaurant staff were friendly and obliging, and our hungry family was fed! The hotel building and room is old (historic?) and adequately maintained, satisfies requirement for an overnight stay and provided basic and reasonably comfortable beds and a bathroom.

Great location, property showing some wear due to age, but location and price makes up for it.

Beautiful hotel, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great food. Perfect location.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised at the upgrades that were made. The rooms were comfortable, very affordable and clean. The hotel is located in the heart of the shopping district and in walking distance to restaurants, nightlife and emtertainment.

Do not pay the extra money for the view. Very convenient to the ferry on foot. The staff Joelena was excellent with customer service and recommending things to do.

I have stayed at this hotel often. The hotel has made an effort to improve/renovate the rooms. Some are good - others awful. When I stay here I do not expect luxury but I do expect that the aircondition works and the TV and that it is clean. On this stay I was in a room that supposedly had been upgraded with a new air condition unit. It did not work properly and no one could figure out how the remote control for it worked because it was apparently a European model. No instructions anywhere and even the maintenance man could not figure out the icons. Also, a new cable TV service was apparently aquired. One had to go through a series of steps to turn on the TV. No instructions anywhere, no listing of channels - I was finally given one but it was wrong. The phone in the room was missing the overlay card so there was no way to know what extension to call for service or anything else. The ice machine on my floor was not connected. The downstairs bar was poorly attended. One had to wait 10 minutes or more and no one knew where the bartender was. So many annoyances that could be fixed so easy! I spoke with the manager who told me he did not have to listen to my complaints. I guess that says it all!

The room was dirty. Unable to connect with wifi and the staff was rude and not helpful.

We only had three days on this trip but staying at the Windward Passage Hotel felt longer. The ease of walking out into the heart of the city meant we could almost walk wherever we wanted to for shopping, dining, and swimming! The evening brought us a surprise gift of winnings at the gaming lounge downstairs, and our room was big enough to meet two romping grandchildren early the next morning. Staff was courteous and caring too. Great stay.

Hotel is close to restaurants and shops with a"love bus" available to give a complimentary ride to the beach. Very clean rooms, thanks to the housekeeping staff. We enjoyed our stay. I left my jacket in the room and the housekeeping and front desk staff worked to send my jacket to me. I would stay at this hotel again!

Carpets were pretty dirty. Bathrooms are pretty old and need lots of repairs. The building it self needs a little more care to make it more appealing to tourists. I see why people stay on the west side at the Marriott and Bluebeards it just nicer there and the beach is a walk away.

You pay for what you get! Meaning is not a 5 star hotel, but with that said, it's not that bad of a place. Really close to town and walking distance of many places.

Overall, yes this is a nice hotel. The place is clean and has spacious rooms, nice pool and is right there by the riverwalk.

Old resort. Not bad but not exactly what I expected from ads

Uncomfortable beds, hotel was being remodeled, definitely needed.

Great staff but 20 min drive plus a mile walk to beach, not much to do besides overpriced shopping, no microwaves hard beds. Stay on st john for activities and fun.

The room was great, amenities updated including a television that was not from 1999. I didn't like that I was charged 66 for 2 additional people, when it's advertised to fit 4. Also, the shutters for the bathroom were really aesthetically pleasing, but there were large gaps in them when closed leading to little privacy. All in all, I slept well and had what I needed. It was also very close to the airport, which is what I was looking for.

As the title reads, this is a decent hotel nearby the Charlotte Amalie Ferry. I had a clean, quiet, uneventful stay. The check in was quick, the sheets were clean, the AC was blasting.

Check in was smooth although the front desk staff were not pleasant at all. We were not told about the amenities at the hotel like the restaurant, gift shop and fitness center. We actually walked around and found everything on our own. We lucked up on our first night by talking to the security guy who told us how to walk down the street to Frenchtown to the many restaurants. We were also able to listen to a reggae band on Friday night for free at the Rum Shandy. He also told us about Coki Point Beach and how we could catch the safari for $2. It is a beautiful beach far exceeding the tourist beach...Magen's Bay. At Coki Point Beach we met many of the local people that live on this beautiful island and there was an array of island cuisine as well as american food...hamburgers, french fries,.....A shout out goes to Leroy who I believe was a concierge that we met on day 2 of our stay. We were looking for breakfast/brunch food and he told us about Glady's. It's a little on the expensive side but definitely a treat. They have a wonderful breakfast selection, delicious island drinks and we couldn't resist the lunch menu...oxtails, goat, curry chicken.....yum!!! If you're out late and hungry go to Betsy's. It's in Frenchtown..walking distance...stays open til 4am and it is safe to walk. The location of the hotel is perfect. The front desk staff, however, need better customer service. A smile...welcome to the island, review of the hotel..maybe a welcome brochure with your room key...

I was impressed with the cleanliness of the facilities and the room. The only thing my room lacked was a view.

The rooms are quite good, with plenty of room and nice, comfortable beds. The hotel facilities are a little sparse, and have seen better days. The location is in town, so it's easy to get to bars and ice cream. Overall, good value, especially for a night or two!
