The location is great - you go out your front door and after about a minute walking down the sidewalk/path you're on a beautiful beach. The snorkeling is amazing. The room was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen reasonably equipped. I'm pretty sure that each unit has a different owner and they therefore vary in quality. I thought our unit was a bit frayed, and needed some maintenance. The patio furniture was made from PVC tubing and sounded/felt like it was about to break when I sat on it (the inside furniture was solid). The chain on the bedroom fan was broken so we had no way to turn it off (there wasn't a wall switch for it). An electrician (nice guy) came but didn't have a spare switch so he wired it off for us. Our check-in experience left something to be desired. When I called they told me I was calling the wrong place and gave me another company's phone number. It didn't take too long to sort out, but it was still a hassle. We stayed in four places in St Thomas and St John. Of the four this was the closest to the beach, but was the most dated, had the worst view (you see some nicely maintained grounds, and patches of ocean through the trees), and was the most expensive.

Bernie and Adele in the office made sure we got a great condo. This is he second time in two months that I have stayed in this condo. There is a beach front view, with excellent snorkeling on a pristine beach. The beach is quiet but the people are friendly. The location is excellent and a bus ride away from Charlotte Amalie. The condo is very spacious. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location. Easy access to red hook grocery and Charlotte Amalie and breakaway tour to British Virginia islands. friendly crowd. Perfect beach with clean ocean floor and beautiful snorkeling.

Reception was cordial, they did not remember its my return... i got the same room as previous which was great because I liked it before and made me return. I only now found out there is a pool!!!! It is beautiful, but had not the time to test it out as it was too late - i was leaving.

Unlike the check-in which I was not expected on same day online booking nor substitute rep did not know of online bookings plus oh drearie.... too long to list. I was happy with room, size, view, opportunity to stay although unexpected there was an available and clean room. Not the double bed requested, but my party cancelled and one bed was fine. I was confused as to payment since cc was required online and there was no need to call in to confirm per orbitz. So i pray there is no double charge issues. I took at least an half hour to be found, checked in and had to ask where and how to get in gate and find room and get wifi access which the sid name was not given.

I stayed in C4,top floor.....lots of natural light throughout the condo with a nice view of the water. The grounds are beautiful the gardeners were working on them each day i was there.I never saw so many gorgeous flowers in one place. The large friendly iguanas roam freely on the lawns and hang out in the grape trees down by the beach. There is a nice super clean pool that I took my book to and read under the umbrellas when the beach got to windy. This is a laid back place ,small -not too many people ...I loved it.Some days at certain times there were just a couple of people on the beach..it was nice.I snorkeled in several beaches while I was there but saw the most fish at this beach..even saw Dory from the Disney movie a few times.

Our unit was old and dated. Walls patched but not painted. Cracked floor tiles. Refrigerator was unclean. Would not recommend.

The view from C-6 was wonderful looking out on the pond & beach. The beach itself was very nice. On several days we had our morning coffee on it watching the sunrise. The biggest drawback was not having anyone on site to ask questions. We were there several days before we located the pool & even getting beach towels was a problem. Apparently Crystal Cove was having work done & didn't have a reception area. When we arrived we were taken to a different property to get our keys. All said I would still stay at C-6 again & would recommend Crystal Cove. Aside from the problem of not having a rep on site, it was a lovely vacation.

I spent four days and three nights at Crystal Cove and would have loved to stay longer. Some of the negative reviews I think were from people who didn't set their expectations accordingly. This is NOT a resort, it is a complex of condominiums. That said, while the staff is friendly and helpful, don't show up and expect five-star service. On the other hand, the grounds are immaculate and the beach is amazing. A short walk up the driveway of the complex will enable you to catch a "dollar taxi" to Red Hook where you can find whatever you need (restaurants, grocery store, boat dock, information, etc.). The condominium we stayed at was very nice, the one knock on it was that the bed was very soft, both my girlfriend and I woke up with achy backs each morning. It was not the worst bed I have slept on, however. I would have loved to have stayed longer and would stay at Crystal Cove again on a return trip for sure. Don't hesitate to book!

Got there and it took 2 hrs for them to find the reservation, even though I had a printed copy with me. First room was rough. Broken blinds, broken bed, fixtures in the bathroom rusted to almost being unusable and whole condo was moldy. Moved to condo two. Again it seemed musky or moldy with similiar rust problems on anything metal, but that wasn't the worst part. There was worms in the water. Yes, little red worms had invaded the cistern and came out of the shower, faucet, kitchen sink... Hotel staff was discourteous EVERY time I politely and humbly approached. I gave up and contacted travel agency. They solved the issue by getting us to another resort. Wonderful vacation after day 2.

We got a great deal at Crystal Cove ($1000.00 per person for 8 nights and round-trip tickets). While this place is older, and some of the fixtures are showing their age, Crystal Cove was quite possibly the cleanest and best maintained location I have ever stayed in. Located right on the beach, and only a mile away from many restaurants, shopping, and the ferry, it was the perfect jumping-off point for traveling the island(s), or just hanging out at the beach. The staff was very friendly, and performed their duties with a professionalism uncommon in the occupation. My only criticism is that I would not pay the same price for Crystal Cove as some of the more updated locations, but if you can get a bargain, I'd recommend you go for it!

Our room had in front of our entrance 12 AC units, what made a lot of noise. Cleaning the room was only every other day. Telephone was not working, Wifi very poor. We booked Crystal Cove, but were sent to Sapphire Beach Hotel and Marina. There was no breakfast, no restaurant, no bar, nothing.

I will stay there again & will recommend it to others

This facility had a major issue with cleanliness. It was very out dated which wouldn't have been a problem if the place was kept up nicely. There was mold on the shower curtain, the faucets and fixtures were rusted, there was dust and sand on the floors and under the rugs, the kitchen counter had bugs and a lizard crawling around. There were missing tiles on the bathroom walls and pieces of missing wall base. We stayed for two nights and couldn't take it anymore so we left and went to stay at the Ritz Carlton. It was more expensive but well worth it. It's a shame because the beach this property sits on is beautiful. Sea turtles, fish and more... an all around great snorkeling location. Just don't plan on spending anytime in the room.

Crystal Cove is a great property - but I didn't get to stay there. I was placed in a separate property on Sapphire Beach that was not as nice as Crystal Cove. Be sure you know exactly what property you are booking. I did later move over to Crystal Cove and enjoyed my stay very much.

The indication of the hotel address was unprofessional . The exact address is Sapphire Beach Resort , 1/2 mile from this in a mountainous remote area . We arrived around midnight and the taxi drooped us in this wrong address " crystal cove " with 3 large bags . We had to move in the darknest to the reception of the hotel ,1/2 mile away from this place . It was terrific .

At check in time I was assigned to the Sapphire Beach Condos. Many other reviews have pointed out this complex has had its financial problems and now is not what it was in the past. But it's still a great beach and a pretty good value.

When I arrived, the lobby was very bare. It was much more bare than most lobbys in poor Mexican hotels. The hotel restaurant was; wait, there wasn't a hotel restaurant. There was one, but it was completely covered in ripped material, and rust everywhere, and it was absolutely vacant. Breakfast was included. Well, sort of. There was a tent with a nice lady who would make a breakfast sandwich for 7 dollars. But for the hotel guests, the included breakfast was some very sad looking fruit, cheap bagels in a plastic bag, an assortment of muffins in plastic bags, like the kind you buy in 7/11. When I went to checkout today, I had to walk through a crack in the fence, and across a dirt field to get to the check out area. The sofa in my room was collapsing.

Was booked at Crystal Cove Resort, but at check in was moved to Sapphire Beach Resort. Was very nice! Had an end unit near the pool area. Unit had everything that we needed. Was right on the beach and a 5 minute ride to Red Hook. Resort is well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. Was a positive experience!

Room clean, not fancy, but the beach is top notch, plenty of sun, shade, and sand, with an awesome snorkel experience.
