Antilles Resorts at Point Pleasant

We wanted to stay at Point Pleasant Resort. This property is not Point Pleasant Resort. This is misleading on the part of the travel site and [the listing agency]. Quite a bit of the information they describe is grossly inaccurate. Next time we will book directly through the resort.

Our room had amazing views. Balcony was very cool overlooking the bay. The hotel employees were all very nice. Major plus was the courtesy transportation which would take you to several areas near by for free. Short walk to Coki beach and close to others. Close to RedHook where you can take a quick Ferry to St John for $7.

Things have gone downhill since staying at this hotel 5 years ago. The "old" management is being replaced by "new." We booked, not knowing, under the "old" and had to call to ask for such things as toiletries, becaue the management is offsite. I received email responses prior to arriving and the answers were not true. There was only 1 restaurant, vs. 3, and no real souvenir shop. Disappointing. However, the new management was friendly and attentive and has already made a positive difference. When we were not provided with what we needed, they came through, with smiles. The location is great, being close to Red Hook (take a ferry to other islands or simply shop/eat), and Coki Beach (beautiful beach, good snorkeling). The view is spectacular from each villa. It's also easy to catch a taxi or safari ride to another location, such as Charlotte Amalie. Can't wait to return to the new and improved Point Pleasant in the future!

We stayed at point pleasant I'm late February to early March for 7 days/7 nights. The room was very spacious, clean, and amazing views. The staff is very helpful, especially Sean, who booked us a trip on Morningstar Charter! I definitely recommend going to a market and getting some snacks and food, as eating out for every meal gets expensive (don't forget the booze too). If we returned to St. Thomas we would stay here again. Very nice rooms, up to date, and clean (coming from a female)!! Only downfall was the stairs, but they do offer a shuttle service, we enjoyed getting a little workout in! I would recommend Point Pleasant to anyone visiting!

Nice view, friendly staff!! They move very slow in the Carribean do be patient.

Looks like the place was built and never maintained. Probably was great in the 80's. The staff does not want to be bothered.

I went to st thomas for work... The first room that they put us in smelled like mold, the fridge was completely rusted and the phone did not work. I told them that the phone didnt work and we were supposed to have a new one in, after waiting 24 hours and nothing happening i had to walk all the way back to the front desk (which is up a mountain) to ask for a new room. Once i got a new room the manager called to let us know that thw room was upgraded with no fee?! THE OLD ROOM WAS AWFUL! Staff wasnt nice as well. If you stay here, good luck.

This is the worst hotel experience we've ever had. A/C did not work, no hot water. Staff was totally unresponsive and very rude! No one at the front desk after 5:00, or before 9:00. View from the room was great! But if you value basic amenities, Do not stay at this hotel!

For the price I was expecting the worst! But we got there late at night and there was a really nice lady waiting outside to greet us and take us to our room. It turned out to be way better than we both expected!! The room was big with a kitchen and had a beautiful view of the bay with a large balcony!

We had a delightful time while staying at Point Pleasant! The accommodations were amazing - large windows looking out over the ocean, a constant breeze made the room temp wonderful, and a full kitchen for nightly family cooking! Only issue was the nightly noise from the huge hotel located down the beach. Located on the East end of the island, I was able to capture beautiful sunrises each morning and the ferry to St. John and restaurants in Red Hook were only minutes away. We would stay there again.

We checked in for our second stay at Point Pleasant resort . When we arrived to our room, there was loud construction in the adjacent room. We went to the front desk, and they told us they had no idea construction was going on. There were scaffolds and yellow tape all over the place, so I don't see how the front desk had no knowledge of construction. They showed us another room that was dirty, covered in bugs, the A/C was on a 30 minute timer, and was just horrible. We were told that was the only other room available and the construction would be finished that night. We decided to stay in our original room. The construction crew told us that they would be working all week from 7:30 AM to 6 PM that week, which was totally opposite what the front desk and bell staff told us. We were woke up at 7 AM by hammering, air compressors and power saws the next morning. We had to get another hotel, but Point Pleasant still penalized us and made us pay for two nights. We were not made aware of the renovations and this was in no way our fault. I am very unhappy that we were penalized by the hotel for something that we had no knowledge or control over. The hotel was not helpful nor did they apologize for ruining our honeymoon. We were so excited about the resort, the pools, the restaurant on the bay, but instead we got rude staff and power tools. In fact, we could see this resort from our new hotel, and the construction scaffolds and workers could be seen working all week long, despite the staff lying to us that construction was only lasting the one day.

So the hotel is very far from anything, and the taxi drivers make it seem like a chore to drive you back to Point Pleasant. There are little bugs all over the bathroom and kitchen, and we kept finding larger bug droppings on the counter in the kitchen and bathroom but never found the bugs. It was gross! The frontdesk said that they were going to set up our taxi pickup for the airport, and the taxi never showed up. My boyfriend and I almost missed our fight, and we had to walk over 3 miles making it to the airport and take the safari. It was a horrible visit to St. Thomas.

The web site did not represent the age or layout of the rooms. They lacked basic maintenance such as torn screens and sticking doors, etc. Was very disappointed .

Like everything else on St Thomas this hotel is quite expensive for what you get. But you are paying for a view, the view of the bay and the other islands was fantastic. The room was just ok. We had a full kitchen which we used often, but everything in it was pretty old. The bathroom was recently remodeled and was quite nice. The bed was old and uncomfortable. The best was the huge wrap-around balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the bay. You can also walk to Coci beach and Coral World, which are definitely worth staying at this hotel. The staff was like most of the people we met on the island, not very friendly, but they helped when asked. There are 3 pools and a couple of restaurants; we only ate at Jack's Bight which was pretty good, but so busy it took over an hour to get our food. Compared to other resorts on the island this one is a bargain, but it is still pricey for what one comes to expect from a $200+/night hotel.

the hotel is on the hill, which makes driving to the room difficult. there's no beach at all for the hotel. we stayed in Junior Suite, in which the refrigerator is so noisy. the room is quite often out of power. my friend stayed in another junior suite, and they don't have hot water for shower. in the first night, our room was out of power at 10pm, when we were watching tv, and i realized at that time that the phone does not work. i tried to call the emergency number given by the hotel from my cell phone, but the number did not work. so i will not recommend this hotel to my friends.

The view was perfect. Youhave privacy. Comort. The location of the hotel is excelent. I would go agian.

Very nice room with an unbelievable view. Staff friendly and helpful. Great value and great location. Zip to Coki, Megan's, Red Hook. Fantastic on site restaurant Agave Terrace. Pools were not clean but guess no one uses them!!

i was there for a wedding the hotel it self was ok i was dissapointed because they didnt have a restaurant there that served breakfast nor a shuttle that could take us to near by restuarants this was my first trip ever it was still good

After reading the previous reviews on this hotel, I was excited to stay for the first time at Point Pleasant Resort. The place is definitely not like the previous reviews. My Superior Suite room did have an amazing view of the bay and over part of the Island of St John but the room itself was in very poor shape. It looks as if the hotel hasn't been updated in 10-15 years. The bedroom was decent but the kitchen, bathroom and closet areas looked very run down and below normal standards I would expect this Superior Suite to have. I actually ended up checking out of hotel two days early and moving to a much better hotel on the beach where I was fully satisfied. Hope this information helps someone else considering this resort to just move on. It is definitely not worth the prices they are charging at this hotel.

The location of the property is perfect - secluded, quiet, and literally right on the water. Staff were friendly and responsive. Room was very bare and simple. Bed was unbelievably uncomfortable. Mattress and box spring roughly equivalent to sleeping on a pool table. The rooms were dated, but appeared well maintained, with some visible damage caused throughout the years. Free snorkle gear and kayaks for guests were a big plus. No breakfast offered on site.
