This is a wonderful hotel. The staff is very friendly and almost everyone speaks English. The room was very comfortable, a good size, and quiet. The thing I really liked about the room is that it has plenty of electrical outlets and mirrors. Very easy to use your appliances. The hotel has a good breakfast buffet. The location is also good--just a short walk to public transportation. I enjoyed my stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting St. Petersburg.
My husband and I recently stayed in this hotel We were part of Travel Dept from Ireland. A most welcoming experience. Staff were very helpful. Place was spotless. Beds really really comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent. Good variety of food. Very convenient to all sites.
Hello, I have stayed 3 nights in this hotel. The room was very clean. Equipped with a safe, fridge and bath tube. Bed was very comfortable. The hotel has sauna and gym but unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to try them. The hotel location is very nice, walking distance from different touristic and historic places. The hotel arranged the pickup from the airport in a very clean car for 2500rub about 35 euro. To the airport I took a taxi for 1500rub I Recommend this place. Enjoy your stay in Russia.
My sister and I were met by the hotel driver on the platform at Moscow Station and from that point on we had a wonderful visit to St Petersburg. Even at 1a.m. the reception staff were welcoming and made us feel very at home. A brief niggle with our room was dealt with within minutes. The bar was open and happy to supply us with some drinks to sort our travel nerves after a long day. Our room was comfortable, clean and, very importantly, quiet. Bath and shower. Mini fridge with complimentary water. Kettle with tea/coffee/hot chocolate - not the norm in many European hotels. Vasilievsky Island means you are located across the river from the heart of old St Petersburg but it is only a 25/30 minute walk to most major attractions and it is a very lovely walk. The hotel will organise taxis if you require and the whatsapp contact before we travelled offering a taxi home whenever we needed was very reassuring. Breakfast choices were extensive and the 7-11 timeframe meant we could be very relaxed. We took a hotel transfer to the airport at the end of our visit. Same driver who was delightfully helpful and friendly. We both really hope we will return.
Excellent hotel, well placed for visiting all the big sights. Staff incredibly helpful and pleasant and the buffet breakfast was extensive and plentiful. Definitely recommend. Rooms well equipped, warm and not noisy
Very standard hotel from around two kilometers from city center. Rooms are good are clean. Breakfast is standard S-hotel breakfast so less impressive but ok. I tried the restaurant and would say that price/quality is not something I would recommend. Hotel is really quiet.
Having my reservations in a Mansard room and in a Normal room were very pleasant. Rooms are spacious, moderately stylised and nice to be in. The front desk is friendly, efficient and helpful. The restaurants are upper middle class. The 8-line pub is a heavily decorated and services work perfectly.
I enjoyed staying in this hotel for the second time as a accomodation for business trip. The staff is friendly, the food was good and beds comfortable with fresh bedsheets daily. The rooms have ironing board, kettle with tea and coffee and pretty indoors with wooden floors.
Not very far from boat terminal yet close enough to Vasileostrovskaya metro station. Alternatively 20min walking distance to the city. Trolleybus stop just around the corner as well. Many restaurants, grocery shops etc. within few hunderd meters. Plus and minus list: + peaceful yet not periferal location + aircon, fridge, etc. room equipment + free sauna&gym in the hotel + free wifi + frendly, efficient staff + free luggage storage - coffee at breakfast was totally tasteless, coffee by colour but no taste
Reading through the reviews, I actually wondered if I had been staying at the same hotel!! Although Vasilievsky Island is quite central, it is quite a walk to the Metro Station and taxi drivers are too ready to fleece tourists. This of course is outwith the hotel's control but it is something, potential guests should think about. Things got off to a very poor start when there was only one receptionist on duty and a whole queue of guests trying to check-in. I was offered a room upgrade for a supplement which I decided to take. I wish I hadn't since the only windows were of the velux type in the roof!! There was no means of pulling down the blinds so I had to resort to using a coat hanger...ingenious! The bed was comfy with a choice of pillows but all in all, the room was rather dark and drab. The bathroom was large and well-equipped but had a constant smell of drains. The food at breakfast was ALWAYS either lukewarm or stone cold making it most unappetising. The kitchen staff should try eating cold scrambled eggs with cold greasy hash browns. There is absolutely no excuse for this and the same was true of food at the dinner buffet. Food actually appeared straight from the kitchen, lukewarm. I didn't find the staff helpful in the slightest and there was no fond farewell on departure, just indifference The hotel seems to pride itself in being rather arty but, in my opinion, it needs to take a long hard look at the basic requirements of the hospitality industry first and foremost. No I would not make a return stay and I would not recommend it.
