Me and my husband to to Russia and we stayed in Novotel for our stay though out but saint petersburg was not good enough..poorly managed.We asked fir HDMI cable and was told that we have to pay deposit and will be refunded back to us when we end our trip.The sane thing we did in our other stay as well.We were charged 300 rubbles for their miss communication per day .Which was told it was free and refundable.We really had to pick up an argument with front desk manager to give our security deposits back .As they communicated us wrong at first place .We are very annoyed that we almost had to pay for their mis communication.Otherwise location is great.
I never expected this out of a brand like Novotel. But, I was deeply disappointed. We had requested for a HDMI cable in our room, we were being provided the same and being asked to submit 1000 Rubles as a security deposit, a similar practice which we did in Novotel Yekatrinburg. The next day I was very rudely being asked to return the cable and a fees of 300 Rubles were cross charged without any clear communication. When I resisted they were not ready to let it go for the first time, but after my constant retaliation and escalation to their higher management, the reception staff politely returned the security deposit and apologised. This was highly unprofessional and doesn't suit a brand like Novotel. I don't recommend this particular property at all to any of you. But feel free to use other Novotel properties, as they are very nice, staff are helpful and polite.
Our stay was excellent, and great value for money. The beds were nice and soft, all modern amenities, and staff very polite and efficient, also most of them fluent in English. Having said that, if you know a few words in Russian it is also easy to communicate, and everyone is eager to help. Cleanliness was also super. Great location, separate toilet a bit annoying but understandable as it's more common there, and had a really nice bathtub as well. Very tasty and cheap food and drink, and room service always came in good time. Definitely recommend!
This is not bad for a Novotel, but has potential to grow. Position is fine, only a few steps from Nevsky Prospekt, but far enough not to be disturbed by the traffic. The lobby is decent for a low end hotel brand. Although I was at beggining unhappy to get the room in building two, however I discovered if you are in floors from 2-4 is not a problem, because you can reach them by elevator from reception, you just need to walk a bit more. To rooms for itself are nice and large hardware served to my need 100%. Separated toillettes, shower and bath tube in bathroom, confortable and clean fauteuil. Very pleasent. Also bed is confortable. Problem is the small inventory. Sleepers of the worse and cheapest quality. Plastic cups in the bathroom. You need to call to get the bath robe. Empty in room bar. Paper cups for tea/coffee. Those "fixed" hangers for clothes that are so annoying to get from the rail. Small television. You see right away that they turn every cent around two times before they spend it. Room service was slow (almost 1hr waiting) but food was nice. However, also here savings. No bread, no butter, nothing. I was very happy that air was for free. This hotel needs another GM that will not look only on GOP but primary on guest confort. Prefferably an Italian or Slav instead of German. Germans and Dutch are too greedy. Till than I preffere the Crown Plaza. The rooms are much more charming, the guest utilities are better, the whole hotel is on higher level.
We had a great experience, we got the best hotel’s room because we are gold accor member! The reception service is very good and breakfast also. Restaurant is in the average, the is other better options around the hotel. Parking is free and it’s located in a strategic place, silent but centralized. Recommend!
A very clean and modern hotel. Reception staff were most pleasant and helpful. We were put in a part of the hotel across the road and thought oh no here we go but, you can access it by going up in the lift from reception and then walking through an enclosed corridor. Room was spacious, bathroom was seperate from wc but it suited us. Restaraunt was very pleasant and food was good, bar was quite busy with a bit of atmosphere.
The hotel is close by Newski Prospekt, on the main Metro, bus (7 & 24), and tram (10 &11) lines which take you right up to the Hermitage. The receptionists are very pleasant (particularly Valeria who was always so nice and helpful but the others were also very pleasant and professional). We were upgraded to suite 2602 in the second building which we very much prefer because it is so quiet. The room was in very good condition with a couch and an armchair, two wardrobes, several small chests, a coffee machine, tea, chocolate, and the usual amenities--not forgetting 3 bottles of mineral water every day. The bed is comfortable and wide enough for 2. The bathroom is in perfect condition with a bath tub, a shower, and a plentiful supply of towels (impeccable maid service). Breakfast is better than good. We never ate at the restaurant. The barman could be much, much nicer but the two ladies who worked the bar when he was away were extremely pleasant and deserve the highest compliments. One of the gems in this hotel is the Concierge--Tatiana thank you so very much--who arranged a car and driver for our six visits to the Mariinsky (2 ballets and 4 operas--Wagner's Ring cycle). Paul, the driver, is truly remarkable because he managed to drop us off and later meet us right at the very door every time in spite of the horrendous traffic and arctic temperatures (we were in full evening dress and couldn't walk in the snow and ice when the temperature was -27°C). He really is VERY good--thank you Paul. He also met us at the airport and drove us back on our last day. This Concierge service is worthy of a top-class hotel and we will ask Tatiana and Paul to arrange our next trips when we go back to St Petersburg.
I like the brand Novotel, at least I know what to expect, I like being anonymous, I like the kind of averageness which time after time built memories. My stay was bellow my expectation. Of course the room is OK, so is the bathroom and the amenities, but elevators are slow -do not stay on the 9th floor- so is the restaurant service, and it is noice to propose a bar but why would the customer have to beg to be served ? As for the concierge, I had a fifty/fifty experience, but I believe some people are just not fit for the job they have.
Excellent hotel and localization! The staff was very kindle and receptive. How was our first time in St. Petersburg, I asked, in my booking, about a sunny apartment. However, in this season we don't have a lot of sun in St. Petersburg. Despite this, they put on two suns made of paper on apartment curtain with a kindle message to explain the joke. We laughed a lot. They made a very good experience for us! Congrats!
Great location. Great cocktails. Breakfast has a good choice. Kettle in room. The shower is good, which is a must when you need warming up after walking outside. Highly recommend. Hotel staff speak fluent English which is great for me as I dont speak Russian
