Hotel Novotel Saint Petersburg Centre

Nicely located. Very close to the main street. Nice rooms but very badly designed. Toilet near the door. Bathroom in front of the bed. Would have been better if there was no bathtub and the toilet was in the same room. Breakfast was OK. Free wifi. Two building joined by walkway - little awkward but not bad.

This is a pleasant and comfortable hotel. It is very well located . Just a street away from the main shopping centre and plenty of eating places around. Rooms are a decent size and there is wifi in all the rooms. Breakfast was good

Firstly, the location of the hotel is excellent. It is in the main avenue yet on the quieter side of the street, one can just step out of the hotel and explore the nearby cafe's and bars by foot, wide range of breakfast options are available, good and well maintained rooms. Though the lift takes really long as its too slow. Otherwise it was a very pleasant stay.

The Hotel is centrally located to main shopping area & local attractions. Modern, clean rooms with free Wifi. Although the design of the rooms was a bit baffling. The toilet is located near the door and the washing facilities are located around the corner near the bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Only let down! The Breakfast. Great selection of food but it needs to be warmer, by the time you get your plate to your table the food is cold.

After staying at Radisson Royal Hotel in Moscow for five nights, it was expected that Novotel will be a let down but surprisingly, in sharp contrast to the Radisson's Royal elegance, the modern comforts of Novotel were welcome. The location is ideal, five minutes walk from the Train Station, nearly astride the Nevsky Prospekt and within walking distance of all famous attractions, Novotel Saint Petersburg was conveniently located. The services were great and food was excellent

Excellent location close to main shopping area. All attractions are within walking distance. Good food and friendly staff. Beds are so comfy and rooms are good and clean. Two buildings joined together by walkway.

The hotel itself is very good, clean, friendly and efficient staff. Room facilities good and include kettle and safe, free wifi in room. Quirky layout, toilet separate from bathroom with nowhere to wash hands without walking round to bathroom. Breakfasts good, we ate in the restaurant first evening - good but a bit pricey. ATM in the hotel, currency exchange, supermarkets and restaurant nearby. Near Nevsky Avenue (very busy). A longish walk through less nice areas to the Hermitage, Peter and Paul Island etc so not that well located in my view. The only issue we had was long waits for lifts - there aren't enough for the size of the hotel.

We stayed here for 3 nights with a big group. Very tight entrance with limited space, modern furnishing in the lobby and rooms. My room was very clean and neat. This isn't a 5 star quality, perhaps just 4? Only problem was the bathroom probably has leaking somewhere, it smells bad whenever I come back to my room. But I just shut the door so the smell doesn't travel. It wasn't really that smelly too so I couldn't be bothered to change my room. Another thing to note, their walls are quite thin. Free wake up calls by 7-8am as people's whispering, chats, footsteps can be heard. Nevertheless, it will still be my choice of stay as I'm not too sure about other hotel standards in St Pete, at least Novotel was clean.

Very well located close to Nevski Prospekt but enough in the side to be isolated from street noise. Breakfast was very complete with enough alternatives for all. The personnel is young, energetic and the service overall very kind. There's a travel agency very handily with direct access from the lobby, who can arrange tiickets, transport and other services during the stay. There is a ATM in the lobby for cash withdrawals Wi-Fi is free and of good quality Even the temperature outdoors was blow cero, he room was pretty hot and we had difficulties to lower the temperature as the windows cannot be opened. Turning the radiator thermostat all the away down helped matters somewhat.

As recommended by DK's Eyewitness Guide to StPb (see p.177 col 1) this hotel is clean, comfortable and welcoming. Cote Jardin restaurant offers: "a Russian take on Mediterranean cooking." Yes we tried that. They did proper breakfasts as well! Location is carefully hidden away, but within a short walk of local restaurants located on the main road. We booked via 'Voyages Jules Verne', staying for 3 nights.
