The renovations make the beautiful historical hotel feel fresh and relevant
I liked the beauty of the Hotel itself and I loved the beach. I liked the spa and especially, the massage amenity. I liked the remodeled ambience of the Hotel, especially the quality of my room. The Don Cesar has the "class" that I was willing to spend thousands of dollars to experience. However, this Hotel ,needs to address a missing PR element or poor attitude towards it;s guests, in my case, from some of their luggage staff and from the staff running the swimming pool bar. Julian, who checked me in at reception had the right attitude. Model the two areas that I have mentioned after him. Arriving guests expect personal service and attention. Some of the staff in these two areas are overextended and "burned out" and lacking in PR or they would never ignore arriving guests or guests that are trying to order a drink at the bar!!! Finally, it is a disaster that such a fine Hotel as The Don does not have ROOM SERVICE. I will not return and probably would not have purchased a room in the first place, had I known. To spend thousands to stay at The Don is fine, except the guests need to feel personally important everywhere on the property, which was almost the case, with my experience. No offense, Don Cesar Hotel, strictly personal business, to me.
Great time and felt clean!
Property is beautiful of course. For check in, if you don’t use the valet service you have to park in the lot and carry your bags up stairs or up a very very long ramp. Once we got inside two bell boys offered to help with luggage to the reservation desk which was 10 feet away. The key card system was not explained, different than I’d ever used before. Elevators had CTR screens which were not explained and were confusing also. Staff were polite but not super welcoming. In their defense they had 5 weddings that day .. but this was a bucket list stay for me and I was not overly pleased in the end
Beautiful and unique construction of the property and the service is good I was expecting excellent but I have a bad experience only on the check in
This property was great and our room was great. The service was very slow at each restaurant or bar in the hotel we visited. We will definitely be back, but hope the service improves.
Carpets throughout filthy. Threadbare towels Scratchy sheets. Uncooked Mahi sandwich. Floors in spa filthy.

At check in around11pm we were informed five restaurants were closed. The kids club never reopened after the pandemic. No tips or map was offered. The elevators were under maintenance. This is a disappointment and inconvenience .Our daughter was asleep in our stroller. Had to carry her in order to bring stroller down the steps in the foyer. We arrived to our room. We were tired from commute. We noticed the entrance into the was soaked. We were told the front desk.Informed no other rooms were available to switch. Feel customer service was poor. Day 2 We asked for a room change. The hall in front was soaked. It was dangerous for our children to breathe. At front desk Autumn associate informed maintenance would go to check the room .Changing the room would be the last resort. That wasn’t good customer service. Maintenance didn’t fix the issue. I had to ask a third time to switch our room. During the weekend all outdoor and indoor garbages were overflowing with garbage. When our room was cleaned. They stripped the sheets. House keeper accidentally obtained our daughters baby doll when stripped sheets. I asked to house keepers to help contact laundry room. Maybe it would show up. Refused to help or refer me to laundry room. During check out I asked the front desk again. Which they couldn’t locate the baby doll. Informed to call security next day. The pro of hotel was the beach staff and beach. The Andy gift shop - most heemployee during our sta
