Nicely finished hotel in central London. 10 min walk to St. Paul's and Barbican. Rooms on the small side but nicely decorated although maybe a little too boutique in style for my liking. Reception staff helpful although I did feel the welcome could have been a little more smiley. Small detail. Restaurant and bar on site but did not use. Did not have breakfast there. Rate seemed reasonable for central london

Our room was lovely - massive comfortable bed, huge bathroom, big wall mounted TV, tea and coffee making facilities, plus a fridge. Great view from the room. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a good location - no more than 10 minutes from Kinds Cross.

Quick stay here and allocated a room for disability access, not a great look in the bathroom e.g. Wet room and handrails everywhere. Great comfy bed. Construction going on all around so a lot of noise. Lunch in the restaurant was very average and a tad disappointing. Asked what the catch of the day was and waiter said chicken.... need I say more?

I booked this hotel based partially on reviews and partially on the fantastic rate for one night while my daughter and I stayed over in London to watch the athletics at the Olympic stadium. It is situated really close to the Barbican underground station, and is in a quiet little area adjacent to the incredible charter house, and in fact our room backed onto it. The booking in process was quick and efficient even though our receptionist admitted that she was new and was still finding her way round the systems. All the reception staff in fact were really friendly and welcoming. Our room was incredible for the money, with a lovely bathroom and adjacent dressing room area complete with a mini bar and snacks which we did well to resist. The air conditioning was already on and the temperature of the room just right for us. The bed was so comfy and I was pleased to see two pillows as I struggle to sleep flat. We didn't have breakfast so I can't pass judgement on that, but I can honestly say that this will be my first consideration for any future trips to the capital.

We stayed at the Malmaison for four nights in april/may, and the hotel was just superb. It is located in a quiet part of London, in Charterhouse Square. The staff is friendly, the rooms are big and tidy. The bed was big and comfortable, and there was not much noice from the streets outside. The only drawback is the expensive breakfast.

My family and I recently stayed 3 nights at the Malmaison as part of a wedding celebration and I wish I could have stayed longer. From arrival to check out, the staff were very welcoming and could not have done more for us. The hotel itself is surprisingly big for the City of London, with well proportioned, comfortable rooms. It also had a great restaurant and bar and the food was delicious. All in all, I would definitely stay here again and I look forward to my next visit.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with my husband and 11 year old daughter. Room was lovely and big with great views of the square. Bed was big and comfortable and the shower was a rainfall shower and was amazing. Reception staff were lovely and friendly. Downsides to the hotel were the coffee machine which took ages to figure out how to work and the next door banging their doors on the Saturday night in the early hours of the morning. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel as it was very expensive.

My 3rd visit to Malmaison in Charterhouse Square, London. Great to be back. It really is a fantastic boutique hotel- I wouldn't think of booking anywhere else when visiting London. Location is very good- Barbican underground station is only a few minutes walk with direct links to Kings Cross Station. Staff are very professional and welcoming. My room was ready despite being early- I arrived at 2pm. I was delighted to find that once again I had been given a Club Room. These rooms are fantastically spacious with views of the park. Decor is modern and minimalist. A stylishly Classic Eames recliner provides the perfect place to relax with a magazine and a glass of wine. A small table and 2 chairs at the window provides the perfect spot to people watch while enjoying coffee. The bed is massive and very very comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities are provided- a fancy Nespresso type coffee maker. Complimentary water is a welcome addition. A well stocked mini bar and plenty of nibbles are available at a reasonable cost should you need anything. The bathroom is great- a lovely powerful monsoon shower with complimentary toiletries; plenty of fluffy towels and a bathrobe. Already looking forward to my next visit.

Stayed at the Malmaison for a couple of nights as I was attending a performance at the Barbican which is only a short walk from the Hotel. The Hotel is right next to the Charterhouse in Charterhouse Square. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. I had a meal in the restaurant and the food was delicious. The only downer for the stay was that the fire alarm went off twice around 2:30am. They stopped fairly quickly, so we were not hauled out of our beds. The management left a note explaining why and apologising. As has been noted in other reviews the rooms are small.  I will stay there again if I need to stay in that part of London.

Stayed 2 nights here and had a fabulous stay. The Mal Club room was brill, plenty of space and loved the coffee machine! Beds very comfortable. Room service was fast and efficient with a good menu; breakfasts had plenty of choice and were delicious; the lower bar was quiet but had some good cocktails. The staff were all brilliant - no issues switching us to a different room when we identified an issue in the first - and very polite and welcoming. The only problem we had was the fire alarm went off 3 times between 5-10am on the first night - but otherwise we were extremely happy with our stay. It is also very close to bars, restaurants, and travel links (Barbican underground, buses) so is a great location. Highly recommended.
