booked river view with balconey got boat house view with walk way to other rooms very noisy
Not many amenities
The room was very servicible. A chair at the table/desk would have been nice and a bulb was out on the lamp there. The bed was comfortable and linens excellent. A good size refrigerator and countertop served me well. The bathroom was clean and basics are provided. The desk staff on checking in and out were each friendly and cheerful.
Not worth spending $250 a day
Room had tobacco odor. Bathroom sink countertop cracked and in need of repair.
The place and location were amazing but, I was extremely disappointed that all but one of the restaurants were closed and that one had limited hours. and There was no maid services. This was all blamed on Covid which is an excuse because there is no more parodical being followed. No masks, no distancing. Pools and tours are open and running. It is simply an excuse to save money. I should have been told before arrival.
The property was run down and services were severely lacking
The view of Boldt castle and the river was awesome !
Room need an update
PLEASE READ* I recently stayed at the Bonnie Castle Resort and was very disappointed. The room I was given was not as advertised; no view of the river or castle (as advertised in the photos), odd cigarette smoke smell, and all I could hear was the TV blaring in the room next door. After asking (twice) to be put in the room I had booked/seen on the website, the rude front desk employee reluctantly put me in a different room with a partial view of the river. While the room was clean, the jacuzzi did not work. The Bonnie Castle Resort will always be “iconic Alex Bay” but it is far from what it once was. I will not be staying here again, and I urge anyone who considers staying here to look for other accommodations.
The view of the Castle was gorgeous,
Loved the view, hotel is a bit dated. Seemed a bit pricey for being the off season.
Bonnie Castle needs updating, we understand Covid has caused many issues for the travel industry, but the aging and needed updates are from years before Covid. Carpet is worn, fixtures are very dated, still use a regular key to enter room(which didn’t work well, never received a clear answer when we questioned about it), no deadbolt or chain for added security, just a push button lock on inside door knob. Staff was indifferent to any questions/needs we had. The tv is 32 inch that has limited reception and what did come in was completely fuzzy , maintenance blamed it on their cable company and stated”too many people are used to large TVs with HD” We called front desk regarding WiFi , thought maybe they had given us the wrong password , we were told to go outside and then maybe you’ll get a connection. When we got home , I noticed a $10 charge on my card, I called to inquire, I was told it was for a missing key! Representative said she will speak to supervisor, came back to phone and stated supervisor said I signed agreeing to that possible charge, never once was I made aware of that. I asked to speak to the supervisor and was told she is not available, I offered to wait and then was told she won’t be available until Friday( I was calling on Monday). All in all , if you call yourself a resort , then the conditions , from the drive into the property, to the lobby , the amenities, rooms etc. should be of resort quality. Positive, bed was comfortable. We definitely overpaid
Pictures are COMPLETELY deceiving. Should NOT be labeled as a resort- there were ZERO amenities. The tv and toilet did not work - called management twice- was not repaired. A motel 6 would have been an upgrade- honestly.!!! Please do NOT waste your money- wasn't looking or expecting a 5 star resort - just one that had a working toilet and tv and bathroom fixtures that maybe weren't taken from a 1970's bathroom.......lesson learned!!
Family friendly. Walking distance to town. Restaurant on site. Clean place to stay.
The room appeared to be in great shape and clean. However, with lights on could see several cobwebs on the edges of ceiling..one with a large spider. They need to brush along the ceilings occasionally. I know spiders are pretty common around water (being a boater myself) but I don't necessarily like to sleep with them hanging around.
Loved being next to the bay! There were water stained ceiling tiles above the jacuzzi that need to be replaced. It was a beautiful and clean room otherwise.
