Super 8 Mound City0.0 out of 5.0

I was very impressed with this motel until I got in the shower. A $10 shower head could have made this room perfect. The one in the room was not very good. The shower head stem wasn't straight so you couldn't aim the water correct. The shower head itself was not spraying an even spray. That was my only complaint with the whole motel. A $10 showerhead and stem could have prevented any complaint.
Mound City is an exit off I29. Not much else. One restaurant, one McDonalds, one subway and two gas stations. I gather hunters like the place to get trophies. I'm here for business and for that, this place is great. Nice and quiet...good amenities (Indoor pool!). The breakfast was OK...I've had more choices at other supers...but OK. My project is soon to end so I doubt I'll be back. However, this Super 8 was a good place.
Every year we stay a the Mound City Super 8 for Eagle Days at nearby Loess Bluffs Wildlife Refuge. We spend the weekend and stay a few extra days to enjoy the refuge after the crowds have gone. It is so convenient with Mound City just a few miles from the refuge. We need a wheelchair accessible room and the Super 8 had the only truly accessible room in town. We love the service at Mound City Super 8 and would recommend the motel to anyone.
A well appointed property with jacuzzi suites, indoor pool and whirlpool. Excellent helpful staff.
I hadn't stayed at a Super8 before and had low expectations. I'm kind of a hotel snob and like to stay at really nice hotels even if they cost more. However I was pleasantly surprised and very happy with the size and style of the room and the staff was great! I will definitely stay there again next time I travel that direction.
Easy to find just off I-29. Nice lobby, friendly service, average rooms and amenities. Bathroom mirror had been replaced with a smaller one, but wall had not been painted to match the smaller mirror. Dog food or food item on the floor indicated careless cleaning.
I stayed here to visit the national wildlife refuge near by and this place gets the job done. I'm not one to complain but there were a few unruly guests in the room above me. I called the front desk about the disturbance, they handled it quickly and even offered me a prorated amount for my stay for my inconvience without me having to ask. I appreciate businesses being proactive like that. Staff was friendly and efficient. Room was clean and for under $100, it got the job done just fine.
It was a good experience and I made an error in registration which they helped me through very graciously ;=)
Needed a place to spend time together. It was nice for what we paid. Not much around. Had a great time.
We needed a place to stay as we were driving very late after the Ohio State/Nebraska game (yikes, as we are Husker fans) and St Louis. Ideally we knew we wouldn't make it all the way to KC or not even St Joe. Mound City seemed to be a good choice, but hotels in the area are very limited. This hotel came recommended on Trivago / Trip Advisor and it was quite a pleasant stay. The hotel rooms are clean. The value was very good - we were in the $80 range for a very comfortable queen with amenities. Breakfast was included and parking was free. Reception and housekeeping were also quite nice. No complaints with service. Yes, the hotel is a little dated and a little dingy, but the value and the cleanliness make up for it. It's a standard cookie cutter boxy hotel, but for an overnight stay, it works. RE: the breakfast - there was enough variety. A couple of suggestions - altho not at all material - 1) please label the gravy. My bleary morning eyes truly thought it was oatmeal. Thankfully a child shouted, 'ooh look at the gravy' just in time. (side note - a big pot of oatmeal with sides of brown sugar, berries, is always welcome) 2) the coffee -- kind of an odd situation where you could only get a couple of ounces out of the canister at a time.
