Upon arrival we were given the wrong room, had to change rooms the second day. Went a day and a half without electricity with very little explanation from the staff. Food and service was very disappointing. When we were checking out we found out that two different staff members had wrote tips in on two of our bills after we had signed them. This was our third and last stay there.
Well the Hotel you Se is 4.5 Start both my opinion is like 3.0 Star, I am Restaurant Manager and I work in I very nice Cruise and is very pencil. This Hotel for me not very good the service is very poor I who's to go the Waiter make to se I need I Menu, the Bartender who's taking with to Waiter and i spent 10 minutes and non body come to me. That is not I value for my Money, we can't use the Beach because is woks we seaweed. I dint I can't Se go the Divi Carine Resort for is not Good ant the star what dent put is Rank. My personal opinion is the service I that in my Qualify I and Restaurant Manager in charge for 7 Restaurant and Room Service, and 4 Specialty Restaurant. I don't Happy with this Hotel.
Rooms were great: very clean, nice ocean view, good size. Food was good: buffet breakfast, which offered the same each morning with plenty to choose from, but you can have eggs made fresh lunch offered lots of choices from the standard menu dinner changed each night according to a theme. All-inclusive was great...don't be nervous about prices on the menu, which are for accounting purposes only. Everything was included! The beach is OK, but with lots of sea grass, that gets cleaned up each morning. Typical St. Croix beach. Take a trip to Buck Island-you won't be disappointed.
The resort is located in a bucolic setting! Staff is seemingly friendly but doesn't go out of their way to accomadate the guests.food was served throughout the day and varied from day to day.if you needed a taxi ,the courtesy desk would call and the wait was minimal.
This is a very out dated "resort"! I wouldn't call it a resort nor would I recommend it to my worst enemy. Horrible customer service. Never got a smile from a single employee. EVERY employee seemed to be very upset to be at work. The food, although all inclusive was average at best, with the waitstaff being the worst we've ever had anywhere. Had a 3 hour dinner one night because they couldn't figure out who would be our server (there were only 2 other tables so it's not like they were busy), then talked badly about their coworkers and passed the blame on everyone else. The pictures that are on their website are nothing like actuality. Maybe 20 years ago. The mini golf course was disgusting and unplayable. The fitness room is horrible. Everything is broken. Our villa was roomy but had mildew all over the bathroom. The pool by the villa had water that you couldn't see thru at all. The kids cut their feet on the concrete in the villas pool bc it was so old and cracked. The bar downstairs by the pool had an awful sour smell that made you realize it hadn't been cleaned properly in who knows how long. Everything everywhere was just dirty. Even in the lobby bathroom, I wiped all down the strip on the wall because it was just caked in dust. Would never stay at this place again, even if my entire trip were free. That's how bad it was. There was no clear management, there was clearly a lack of leadership. Worst place we've ever stayed and we travel to the Caribbean a few times a year. There are other places on the island, actually ANY place on the island would be better.
I don't have anything negative to say about this resort or it's location. St Croix is a beautiful island. Divi Carina is a wonderful place to stay. We did the all-inclusive and definitely feel we got our money's worth! The food is delicious and always available. The staff is very friendly and so helpful. They helped us figure out which tours to take based on what we wanted to see and do. They always greet you and make you feel welcome, by the time you leave you feel like you've made some new friends!
The staff at the hotel are very friendly but slow and inefficient. The food was adequate and tasty for the most part. We stayed 5 nights but entertainment was only during 2 nights of the stay. No activity at all during the days. The room was spacious and clean but the bathroom floor was covered with stains. The location is in a beautiful setting but far away from everything on the island and requires to either rent a car or use taxis if interested to experience the island.
Wonderful experience at the Divi. The staff was friendly, and accommodating, The Food was Delicious, the virgin Mango drink was our favorite. Being a few feet from the beach and having the pool was great. the NIghtly entertainment at the hotel was fabulous, the dancers, the musicians, all great. and the service to and from the Casino, and to and from Town was exceptional.,. We definitely recommend staying at the DIVI Carina..
The people working at the Divi were so warm and friendly and went out of their way to help us with any needs we had. 14 went in our group for my sons destination wedding. We had a great time there, it is beautiful. Cozy cotttage beachy feeling with a great view of ocean. Tasty foods, caring wait staff. Fun to have the casino right there too. Make sure to book your ride to the airport the day before so you will have a cab there in time. You are at least 30 minutes from the airport.
Divi Hotel is conveniently located 30 minutes away from the airport. It is a very clean, welcoming and children friendly hotel/resort. The food is delicious and the drinks are made according to your liking. The staff is there to please and accommodate to your every need. The beach water is clear and beautiful. However, you do get a lot of seaweed that wash on shore. Kirk the bartender is amazing! DO NOT book on a major holiday weekend because most tourist attractions are closed. It's in your best interest to rent a car because the island is small and easy to navigate from point A to point B.
I had been a travel agent for about 25 years and have traveled the world and this was by far the worst experience ever. Choose this hotel because of the All Inclusive. Location was nice but the hotel rooms were disgusting. Beds smelled of smoke. Plaster coming down throughout the property. Hair had been left in the shower walls from previous party. The power went out for several hours in the morning and had no hot water for approx. 24 hours. I could go on and on but I think you could probably get my drift.
This was truly a wonderful vacation. The rooms were clean and very big.The beds were comfortable. The hotel was far from being old or run down but needed a little maintenance here and there. The location was perfect right on the beach. The food was excellent and there was a good variety of choices. There was entertainment most of which was good. The staff were hard working and mostly polite and friendly except for one particular manager who could have been more respectful to the staff and the guests. I would recommend renting a car, we drove ourselves and had no problems with anyone anywhere on the island. i would suggest signing up for the earlier reservations for dinners on the weekly agenda as things can get a little behind. Some guests were impatient and a little rude about the wait. You definitely needed island time attitude. The women in the gift shop helped us w/ reservations for snorkeling buck Island reef. The guy who does the snorkel trip of the beach hotel was too busy talking about himself to set up a time it was a little weird. I cant wait to go back. Thanks DiVi
The staff was fantastic, super friendly, and we made plenty of friends. The food was delicious, especially the lobster. It probably could have had a little more variety of food choices. There are only 2 places to eat, despite the website saying 4 restaurants. The pizza shack and the casino are more like snack places. The location of the resort was perfect: right on the beach, reef right off the beach to snorkel, and on the quit side of the island. The room was another story. Although the room view was perfect, the decor needs to be updated and they deserately need new matresses (much more firm). I have pinch nerve problems, but was fine before I got there. I had to sleep on the floor my entire vacation because the matress left me locked up in my neck and back. I have needed several chiropractic adjustments since I've been home because of it. Until they get better matresses, unfortanately we will not come back to this resort. We did inform management several times and of this and upon checkout.
all was great---except the management---I changed rooms 4 times in 7 days---air conditioning problems---instead of fixing them they just sent you to another room----I should have moved more but I gave up---All the workers were great and friendly
The resort is a bit worn and showing its age. On the first morning of the stay there were power issues involving a loss of more than 4 hours. However, the general manager compensated me my food and beverage tab which was more than fair. The beach was nice and well groomed every day of my stay.
This was a wonderful getaway with great friends. Staff was very accomodating, the food was very, very good ~ see Lorenzo for the best pizza on the island!
This was a great hotel! All the rooms are oceanfront and have really big balconies (unless you're on the first floor in which case you can walk straight out onto the beach). The room was a lot bigger than we were expecting which a nice surprise. The only downside to the room I thought was the shower. It took a little while to heat up (I think the water is solar heated) and there wasn't much water pressure. But besides that the room was great. The staff for the most part were really friendly. The bar was really nice and they mix really good drinks. The food was pretty good too. We went during off-season so there weren't a lot of people around which was fine with us. It was really relaxing. The staff were also very good at maintaining the property. They cleaned up the beach everyday. If you want to go to town a lot I would suggest renting a car as taking a taxi will run you about $20 each way. On Thursdays they have this carribbean buffet with entertainment which was amazing. The breakfast was really good every morning too. They have a newsletter that tells you all the activities for the day i.e. snorkeling etc. There's also a casino within walking distance. I would be careful with your credit card as we had issues with the front desk for over-charging us, but it was resolved fairly quickly. Just look over your bill/statement and know what you've roughly spent. Overall we had a great experience and would go there again.
Totally relaxing. Fantastic location with beautiful beach, wonderful pool and great food.
Not what I expected. I was there 3 years ago and the hotel was slightly unkepted and run down since I was there last. Two of the dinning rooms and one of the bars had been closed, because of lack of business. Yet the hotel was full? I'm assuming because a large number of their rooms where filled with workers from the local refinery. Good for their occupancy rate, bad for a vacationeers options in dinning pleasures. They did add a pizzaria by the road, but if you didn't get there early, you would often wait 11/2 hours for your pizza. They were also actually closed one of the evenings. Did they not want the business? Room was ok, but I was put on the far end of the hotel, angled from the beach. I asked to be moved, but to know avail. Not even a reply back. Seems occupancy rate is more important than satisfying vacationeers. Casino and its entertainment were first class! Hope they are ready for some competition going up right next door to them! I will stay at a different hotel next time I visit St. Croix, especially considering the price!
We came back to the Divi after a wonderful trip 10 months ago. The staff and service are wonderful! The location is perfect. You can stay at the Divi and do it all, or use it as your "home base" to travel around the island. We'll definitely go back again!
