Great Location - Meh Amenities

This house is all about the location. It is in a fantastic neighborhood and is convenient for exploring historic St. Augustine. The home could use some updates - yes I understand it is historic, but some more living room seating, perhaps a TV in the “master” bedroom, and a good cleaning of the outside would surely enhance anyone’s stay. Also, be warned that the pullout sofa bed is broken and not useable. The home is also noisy as most folks have said, but we are heavy sleepers, so it was fine for us. Overall, it was a decent stay but I may look for something a bit more modern for next time.

Charmingly Historic

Two blocks from the Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche to the north and the Castillo de San Marcos to the south, the location is phenomenal! Granted, it is located directly on San Marco Ave and next door to a "tattoos & brews" shop, hence the 3 star locations/neighborhood rating. As we visited the last week of February, traffic was relatively light and noise wasn't an issue; however, I can easily see how this could differ significantly in warmer weather and high tourist season. It is an historic 1865 house with adequate, but minimal renovations as is typical of rental facilities. Very clean, it was sparingly yet adequately furnished (maybe not quite so in living room depending on the size of one's party, but dining room chairs can be employed if needed). The beds were comfortable, there's a lovely little study upstairs with balcony access, and the off street-private parking was very much appreciated! I had no need to communicate with the property manager, so gave a 5 star for that category completely trusting that if I had needed to, it would have been positive. The overall rating agreed upon by my party was a 4 to 4 1/2 stars.

Location in walking distance to many attractions.

This was convenient for walking which we wanted to do. I did not think the blinds in bedrooms or bathrooms were enough for privacy and see others have mentioned that. Beds were comfortable.

Family visit

Great location! Walking distance to everything. Additional seating in the living room is needed. Currently there is a small couch, bench and older chairs. We pulled in chairs from dinning room. Limited kitchen items/ pans, so check before cooking. Would stay here again, for the location!!

Good Stay

First things first. The location makes this place rate higher than it would if it were further away from downtown. With the great location it’s easy to look beyond the very minimal upgrade(s)/upkeep of the home. By no means is it bad or gross. Just don’t expect a historic home that’s been expertly curated and restored. I will warn, if you want to be in a quiet place, this is not it. It’s located directly on San Marco and traffic is very much audible at all hours. Mostly positives to say otherwise. It’s clean and convenient and the nightly rate is close enough to where it should be for what you get out of it.

Historical home GREAT location

This is a 100+ year old home, that brings a certain ambience to your stay. The beds were very comfortable and the house was well stocked and very clean. My only frustration was the limited seating in the living room for movie night on the bad weather nights. Otherwise we will stay here again. Its a great location and you are in the heart of the historic district. Don't forget to stop in the coffee shop and wine shop that flank both sides of the house, great way to start and end your day

Less than expected

Upon arrival the home did not appear as the photos looked. (They must have did a lot of editing). The kitchen counter near the stove was not even secured and lacked the basics such as scissors. The couch was a tiny love seat which appeared dirty. This house is supposed to accommodate up to six however there was not room in the living for people to sit comfortably. (It rained and we had to stay in). The downstairs bathroom look like it was not taking care of. (Shower pan appeared to have splattered paint or was dirty). The stairs were cracked on the edges and appeared to be glued. The upstairs room were surprisingly ok however when walking the upstairs hallway you could feel a large crack in the floor hidden by a runner. Overall not worth the money. We have stayed in other historical homes in this area for the same price range and they were much better. Clearly this company is only in it for the money.
