Stayed in April2018. Rooms are spacious and well maintained. Staff very courteous. Location of the hotel is very good. They have a bakery which is the best in the city.Food is good. Breakfast is complementary and quite filling.
It is a very old hotel and is renovated with all the updated amenities. Room interiors are impressive. We booked it via travel site and it was a steal. Staff is extremely helpful and courteous. It is located near the city centre.
Had stayed at the hotel last week of February. Following is my feedback Rooms: Very spacious and well maintained rooms. New furniture, clean toilets and very comfortable. However the room heater is too small to heat up such a large room. Since the temperature was low, the heating wasn’t sufficient. Food: Though I have read very encourage reviews about the Restaurant, however my experience the food was very average. The mutton in Qurma was very hard to chew and Rista balls were again very hard. A stuffed Parantha would cost around 180 with butter/curd to be charged extra. Maybe it was off season that we missed the quality of food it is famous for Service; Room service was excellent, staff very courteous and eager to help. However the individuals at front desk/reception were very cold (apart from customary greetings). If you ask them anything (even as simple as is there a WIFI in hotel) they would ask you to call 125 and ask. This was slightly strange as in most hotels, reception acts as info desk (unless their is a separate guest service desk). But staff at 125 was courteous Location: Location of hotel is excellent, close to Lal Chowk and very approachable to key tourist attractions. Jhelum at backdrop adds to the charm.
I stayed for 3 nights at this hotel after a gap of almost 5 years. The hotel has been renovated and now is at par with other latest hotels in the country. The staff is very courteous and helpful. Especially the front office staff is very very good. Special mention of Syed Sahib for his very helpful attitude towards all guests.
Rooms services and staff are really awesome. Dining was also good. Try kahwa in the hotel restaurant, really a good one. Room was spacious, and all daily needs are nearby hotel. Good choice for family with small kids.

This hotel is right on the banks of River Jhelum with an excellent river view and right in the city centre with most of the shopping points easily approachable. My room on second floor had a great view of river Jhelum and it was really enjoyable, The river side room was fully furnished modern room having a well-equipped modern bathroom. Heating was proper and very comfortable with world class linens. Staff was very courteous and more than helpful. The restaurant serves the authentic Wazwan Cuisine and probably is the best in whole of Srinagar and the service was excellent. The staffs are polite but waiting for tips for any normal service which is due to low turnout.
I was not expecting much after reading the earlier comments so I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is on a relatively quiet stretch of road and it is possible to get quiet rooms. I could see the road, Residency Road, from my room but even so, I hardly heard any noise in the night and early morning. There is a Pick and Choose Supermarket across the road, and a JK Bank atm further up. There are also some shops further along. This is a hotel wrapped around the restaurant. This means the hotel feels pretty much family run although I would say that my experience was very positive for the most part. The first odd thing is that you walk up a flight of stairs to the lift. And then when you get out of the lift, you walk up to the floor leading to your room. The whole place smelt of fresh varnish, the result of renovation aimed at the season of my visit. The floor to my room had carpeting but my room did not. It was modern looking, with marble on the bathroom walls and floor. The marble on the floor is a mistake. It made the floor very slippery after a shower thought and should be fixed--sandblast the floor with a striped design to add some roughness. The sink was modern--a bowl that claimed to come from Italy. The ceiling in my room was painted white, a pity as this hid the wood work. I had a king bed and two leather lounge chairs. What was missing was a work desk, which apparently had gone away with the renovation. There was complimentary tea and coffee, and two small bottles of water daily. Service was a little spotty. Some days the tea bag I had used was not replaced; another day, I had to ask for shampoo and shower gel. Also, for someone staying 5 nights, I was given only 3 clothes hangers. I was told by a staff that this was a business hotel. But if so, it was a little puzzling as there is no same-day laundry service. It would take 24 hours to do laundry. Water pressure in the shower was low. I used the bucket, which is safer anyway if there was a power cut. The staff were all helpful. Also, I felt safe. There was always a group of men hanging around the first floor leading to the room. Yes, I would recommend this place.
If you want good kashmiri food, do not miss eating here. Every dish we ordered was fantastic and so delicious. We ordered the mirchi mutton, dum aloo, lotus curry, seekh kebab and sooji Phirni. Everything was well prepared and we loved the food so much that we packed food to take home. Tip. If your packing food to take on a flight do inform them as they seal the food in containers.
