I stayed for 3 nights at this hotel after a gap of almost 5 years. The hotel has been renovated and now is at par with other latest hotels in the country. The staff is very courteous and helpful. Especially the front office staff is very very good. Special mention of Syed Sahib for his very helpful attitude towards all guests.
Rooms services and staff are really awesome. Dining was also good. Try kahwa in the hotel restaurant, really a good one. Room was spacious, and all daily needs are nearby hotel. Good choice for family with small kids.
Yummy Food.. Great Shopping Destination. Hotel is located in Lal Chowk area which is a shopper's paradise. Anything n Everything Kashmiri is available there. We moved into Ahdoos on d last day of our vacation after spending a night (nightmarish) at a Boathouse!..wish we had stayed in Ahdoos throughout. Off Topic - Choose your Boathouse wisely, go for branded or Top reviewed one's.. Else u end up messing ur Trip. Moving On.. Rooms in Ahdoos r Spacious, Neat n Welcoming. Courteous Staff, Quick Room Service and very friendly Reception Folks who r also d owners. Sheikh Saab is a very genuine person. Best part is the Ahdoos Restaurant serving superb Kashmiri cuisine. Don't forgot to visit their coffee shop. Overall Satisfying Experience at Ahdoos. Must Stay!
This hotel is right on the banks of River Jhelum with an excellent river view and right in the city centre with most of the shopping points easily approachable. My room on second floor had a great view of river Jhelum and it was really enjoyable, The river side room was fully furnished modern room having a well-equipped modern bathroom. Heating was proper and very comfortable with world class linens. Staff was very courteous and more than helpful. The restaurant serves the authentic Wazwan Cuisine and probably is the best in whole of Srinagar and the service was excellent. The staffs are polite but waiting for tips for any normal service which is due to low turnout.
I was not expecting much after reading the earlier comments so I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is on a relatively quiet stretch of road and it is possible to get quiet rooms. I could see the road, Residency Road, from my room but even so, I hardly heard any noise in the night and early morning. There is a Pick and Choose Supermarket across the road, and a JK Bank atm further up. There are also some shops further along. This is a hotel wrapped around the restaurant. This means the hotel feels pretty much family run although I would say that my experience was very positive for the most part. The first odd thing is that you walk up a flight of stairs to the lift. And then when you get out of the lift, you walk up to the floor leading to your room. The whole place smelt of fresh varnish, the result of renovation aimed at the season of my visit. The floor to my room had carpeting but my room did not. It was modern looking, with marble on the bathroom walls and floor. The marble on the floor is a mistake. It made the floor very slippery after a shower thought and should be fixed--sandblast the floor with a striped design to add some roughness. The sink was modern--a bowl that claimed to come from Italy. The ceiling in my room was painted white, a pity as this hid the wood work. I had a king bed and two leather lounge chairs. What was missing was a work desk, which apparently had gone away with the renovation. There was complimentary tea and coffee, and two small bottles of water daily. Service was a little spotty. Some days the tea bag I had used was not replaced; another day, I had to ask for shampoo and shower gel. Also, for someone staying 5 nights, I was given only 3 clothes hangers. I was told by a staff that this was a business hotel. But if so, it was a little puzzling as there is no same-day laundry service. It would take 24 hours to do laundry. Water pressure in the shower was low. I used the bucket, which is safer anyway if there was a power cut. The staff were all helpful. Also, I felt safe. There was always a group of men hanging around the first floor leading to the room. Yes, I would recommend this place.
If you want good kashmiri food, do not miss eating here. Every dish we ordered was fantastic and so delicious. We ordered the mirchi mutton, dum aloo, lotus curry, seekh kebab and sooji Phirni. Everything was well prepared and we loved the food so much that we packed food to take home. Tip. If your packing food to take on a flight do inform them as they seal the food in containers.
Go to this place if you are a traveler and not a tourist Go to this place if you are like trying new cusine and never had Kashmiri food before . Go to this place for its awesome bakery and all the goodies you get there Go to this place if you want to live in the best market area of Srinagar and want to be centrally located. Go to this place if you want to feel like a local yet be in a clean and hygenic area. But... Dont go here if....you are only used to staying in lifeless 5 star hotels with sterilized rooms. dont go here if you havent tried atleast 20 different types of cuisines yet. dont go here if you want to stay near dal lake and want to do only the touristy things hope you get an idea and no offense meant if you dont want to go there after reading this review but "DO GO" if this kind of place appeals to you cos its simply the best.
Hotel is located in near the ATM,Shopping Area. Limited breakfast for the complementary but the Food itself very good. Please try all Kashmiri non veg food if you prefer non veg. Rooms are well maintain with hot water and all modern amenities.
Very friendly staff....... Provide you with all the facility with the smile . Great food. Owner and manager both are very helping Provided us the best transport to see the locals. Hotel room is quite big and window opposite to lake side At this price range one of the best hotel to stay
Visited with friends in June 2016 to taste that famous authentic Kashmiri cuisine. The wazwaan. Always loved to be at Ahdoos but this time it has been a different experience. An experience which will make me to never come back again. The food is far from authentic Kashmiri .. it is a pot pourie of all synthetic canned additives. That famed Kashmiri korma is nothing but tomato sauce filled with chilly powder. Same for goshtaba .. Utterly disappointed .....
