Here for four nights as a base for day tours. Very nice spacious room with fan and air con. Not a great range of stations on the TV but no big deal. Very nice restaurant and bar area. Bar service a bit slow but this hotel is very progressive in providing training and opportunities for local folk. Grounds are kept in immaculate condition again with village people's help. Very nice pool with a lovely view of lion mountain. Staff very helpful and friendly. It's not often that you get to meet the General Manager Mr Anthony, personally.
We stayed a couple of nights at this hotel and loved it.What impresses most is the absolute natural environment.Breakfast and dinner were presented in a buffet form and offered good value for money with a wide range of food to choose from. The staff are excellent, the food is quite good .
Stayed here for 2 nights and it was a very pleasant stay. The hotel is away from the clattering road hence it is perfect for soul searching or just a simple getaway. It is also close to nature whilst you can find different kind of friendly animals roaming around and some old trees, plants and stuffs like that. Quality and variety of food is great though they only have one restaurant and it is advisable to take the buffet instead of a la carte as it is a bit expensive and limited. The place is also near the famous site which is the Lion's rock that you can even see it overlooking the poolside. Staffs are very friendly and everyone is so helpful. The only con for this property is it really far away from capital. It is about 5-6 hrs by a public bus which is the cheapest way. Otherwise you need to spend roughly an amount of 11,000 LKR for a private taxi. The rate of the room is also a bit pricey however I can say that it is worth it. Lastly the wifi is only available at the lobby area.
Was the first place we stayed on our 3 week trip in Sri Lanka and was very average in comparison to the quality of hotel on offer elsewhere. Facilties and location are nice and well maintained. Rooms are spacious but dated, we had no power overnight and reception were un interested when asking and very un helpful when applying additional govt charges which all other hotels we stayed at included in the price
The room had very bad taste and old furniture. The fabric artwork over the bed was unnacepably dirty, the fridge not working and internet connection is only available by the bar, and it is very very poor. The restaurant, on the other hand, was very good, but the room was awful.
Mouthwatering Lankan food and wonderful place to relax. We enjoyed thoroughly the two nights stay. The whole concept is with nature and those huge trees gives you extra cool environment. Good for families.
We went during the school holidays, hence it was very crowded. The staff was busy, nevertheless they were friendly, attentive and helpful. Rooms were clean with clean sheets, comfortable king size bed and clean bathroom. The garden and the paths were built close to nature and to match the archaeological theme of Sigiriya. There are various activities for kids and of course the beautiful duck pond to keep them entertained at the entrance! Very conveniently located at a walking distance to Lion's rock and Pidurangala. Food was good but limited options.
Impressive looking reception and restaurant area but that's where the compliments finish. The rooms a large but the bed is 2 singles pushed together and the mattress was pathetic. Lots of little bugs. Pool looked good but avoided as had 30 screaming kids in it. Very close to Sigiriya Rock. Quiet expensive 1500 rupee for two beers. Staff are friendly. Noisy air conditioning, no pressure in water in shower everything rusted. Terrible toilet paper. Pretty good buffet. 2000 per person. Power kept turning off and on in the night so the fridge stopped and started, waking us every time. Air conditioning does not go cold. The worst night sleep ever and one of the worst rooms I have stayed in. But fantastic location for Sigiriya Rock.
I stayed there for one night half board basis. Hotel was average. Not one of the best i had. When we first entered to the hotel there was no one to greet us and welcome. Reception area lobby dinning area bar and pool are on the same floor. I felt bit compact and caged. Rooms we had was near paddy field. It was convenient. Room is average and bit old if truly speaking. Bathroom was not satisfying. Sink in the bathroom was so old and had a water blockage. I had to put my hand and remove sink knob. It was so disgusting. We had to request for bath towels becasue they have forgotten to add some to our room. Meals are ok but not the best i had. Pool is quite small. Staff is friendly. The most important plus point of this hotel is the huge space they have allocated for rooms and walking paths. There are many places to visit inside the hotel and they all managed to sustain natural beauty of the place.
We stared our cultural tour of Sri Lanka here and, although it was a four hour drive from the airport, it was an excellent hotel. The rooms were bungalows which were spacious and well appointed with fans and air conditioning. Monkeys appeared outside in the morning which was nice. The restaurant and bar area was pretty and spacious although very busy sometimes. The food was good but stay too long and it could become repetitive. The pool was small but set near trees with great views of the rock nearby. There was a good tropical feel to the whole place with lots of running water to help cool the air. We really enjoyed coming back here after a hard day walking around ancient sites. If you want to see the rock then leave early in the morning when it is much quieter and a cooler walk. You can have breakfast when you return. Overall excellent.
