This is in an ideal location for exploring Lion Rock and a good transit from Dambulla. We stayed for 2 nights. The rooms were very comfortable and adequate. Wifi was only available in the lobby and bar area and was very slow, perhaps with out enough band-width to cater for guest numbers. The buffet and breakfast was good even if it was a little low to replenish food or get served.
Hotel is located very closer to sigiriya rock. Ideal place to stay if you want to have a close view of the rock. Hotel looks very old and packed with greenery. Rooms are old styled and washroom are very new and spacious. Food was below average and management need to really look at upgrading the standard of dinning experience. However service is good. Only possitive part of the hotel is the ayuvedic spa. Dr Wimal ( trust the name is correct) and his team provides an excellent service with ayuvedic treatments with reasonable prices. The head massage was a true reliever. Highly recommended. Apart from this hotel has the other basic games. However major refurbishment and revamping of dinning experience is a must.
The rooms were cozy and quiet. The location is superb especially the scene from the hotel's poolside. The breakfast and dinner buffet was exceptional and a wide selection of international, local, chinese, western, indian food. The staff were very attentive and all the heads of departments (General Manager, Executive Chef, Restaurant Manager, Housekeeper) were all professionals. They made our stay a wonderful one with nothing to complain.
I have visited Sigiriya Village hotel during the weekend for a lunch. The property has an excellent view of the Sigiriya Lion's Rock from the pool side. The food was good. Lots of Sri Lankan food varieties. Special thanks to be given to Mr. Anthony the General Manager and the lovely lady FOE Ms. Nilara for their cordial welcome and service.
One of the best places to start your exploration into the Emerald Isle. No modern distractions, just you and nature and some amazing food. Situated very close to the Sigiriya Rock which has its own history to it this is a beautiful hotel to stay at.
Sigiriya Village is a stunning place to come and experience nature. You may come across a geko or even a monkey but that's just part of the experience. The rooms are clean and very peaceful. Hope to come back soon.
We stayed for two days at this property. Although the property is beautiful amidst nature with lot of trees and plantation around, I would like to mention on the following points: 1) Food quality needs to be improved a lot. We ordered food in the room and the sandwiches, french fries were all cold, the omelette was bitter and the devilled fish was smelly. 2) Some of the staffs are not hospitable at all, especially the ones at the restaurant serving food 3) We used spa services. Although spa was just average, the herbal tea survived after massage is really refreshing
Wonderful, relaxed place to stay during your visit to Sigiriya, Sri Lanka. The staff is very friendly and the services are really great with amazing food. lovely environment too with a great view of Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
The Hotel has most friendly and helpful receptionist ever, so lovely and great first impression of hotel. Couldn't have been more sweet, giving our team directions to a function we were attending along with a helpful map, ensuring parking in car park and facilitating an early check in. We would have left with a good impression. Fortunately everything about the hotel was exceptional, and we as a team don't give praise lightly. It was clean, stylish, and roomy with excellent service in both bar where we had lunch and restaurant where we had dinner. Food was beyond good and great value for money and service in both places attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. We could go on but suffice it to say we were very pleased with our stay, and although short and sweet this time, we hope to be back for a longer visit in the future....
Beautiful surroundings and wonderful people. The food was very nice and the service was good. Everything was nice and clean. Lots of monkeys around, along with land monitors and various birds. Our room was large and clean if a little knocked around the edges. The air conditioning unit made a very loud noise in the middle of the night, so had to switch off in the end and have a noisy fan instead. Apart from that, really nice.Internet was not very good.
