Firstly I would like to thank our lovely room attendant, Sanath Ramanayaka (who made creative towel sculptures each day) and our marvellous waiters, Kamal and Pradeep and the chefs for such a lovely 4 night’s stay. It was my partner’s birthday during our stay and we were looked after so well by the staff. On the special day we were served dinner up in the tree house and the head chef made a superb birthday cake. We were really sad to leave. Many thanks, Dr Laurence Dunn
Beautiful hotel and most stunning view of the Sigiriya rock fortress. All hotel staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was incredible and so much choice. Beyond our expectations! Highly recommend this beautiful property!!!
I expend two night hotel sigiri with my family food was amazing ,nice arrangement buffet great service. WoW......We had great experience with Indian night it’s really Delicious food. Hopefully we’ll travel again because it’s really amazing please.
Had a great 1 night stay at Hotel Sigiriya before tackling the rock and heritage site. The views of the rock at sunset and at sunrise are remarkable and photos do not do them much justice. Staff was friendly and helpful and always willing to help with a smile. Rooms are great, with my only qualm being a slightly inconsistent flush in the toilet. Felt like the food was remarkable and the dinner spread especially was great. Good mix of western and Indian food with chefs baking the indian bread on the spot. All in all, would definitely reccommend this place.
We just went there to spend the evening dipping our feet in the pool that has a stunning view of Sigiriya rock, and delicious cocktails. Was a wonderful place for a rest and a bit of luxury, as we stayed in budget accomodation. The spa and rooms looked nice. Has a great tree house!
Good hotel, we had an overnight stay prior to a balloon flight. Good room in a nice scenery. Excellent dinner buffet, after we came back from the early ballooning we had a good breakfast buffet. Nice view from the hotel at Lions rock
the stay was an excellent experience, we loved the sigiriya rock view from the Pool area, they have built the Hotel without damaging the nature, i love that concept, the Buffet was fantastic, i loved that '' Black Coffee ''. staff was friendly, Chandimal @ Food & Beverage helped us a lot - a Good Guy !! also the staff @ the front desk were friendly. rooms, facilities and every things are perfect. will visit again !!
My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Sigiriya for 2 nights and we loved the place. with its serene surroudings and the view of the sigiriya rock fortress, we felt at peace. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean and the food was delicious. Will definitely come back one day!!!
We were really looking forward to our stay here - however we were quite disappointed. Whilst there are some positives - the setting of the pool was beautiful, breakfast is great, the beds were comfortable and the location is excellent - there were also quite a few negatives - the pool did not seem very clean (whilst we appreciate it is a jungle location, there were a lot of bugs and the pool attendant did not seem interested in cleaning the pool for the whole afternoon we were there). I was also surprised by the service - I found some restaurant staff to be quite rude and others to be unhelpful. It was probably the worst service we received throughout Sri Lanka. The biggest issue of all was that there was a very large group of people there during our stay who were doing what seemed to be team building exercises around the pool. This ruined the atmosphere of the pool - and we felt we should have been told about there being such a big group before we arrived. We are aware of other hotels in the area for a similar price -we would recommend those over this hotel.
It's located in the jungle near the Rock, with a gorgeous pool surrounded by nature and a view of the Rock, the buffet was fantastic and with lots of options, the rooms are large and have a fine balcony, the layout is vast and romantic, and the price is definitely right! Get up early and climb the Rock ($30), or just go there and walk around the base of the Rock and enjoy the ancient and natural environment.
