Eden Resort & Spa Beruwela is a beautiful place to have a once in a life time event ...A Wedding. The Resort facilities cater to all they include a variety of in-house Restaurants Spa Gym Pool To name a few with the beach just across is a beautiful getaway. The Eden Staff makes a concerted effort to please you in every way my daughter had her civil ceremony and all the arrangements were handled in a very professional way by our Wedding Co ordinator Ms Shamila along with the front office team who made it a point to personally welcome our guests with their fantastic hospitality. Ms Shamila ensured that my daughters special day was made memorable and gave us all that we requested and went beyond our expectations. The Wedding Package included many elements that were not relevant to us but Ms Shamila went the extra mile and altered it to our satisfaction. The Front Office Manager The F& B Manager down to all the servers have such a pleasing and warm personality that touched our heart. Thank you Eden for such a wonderful welcome and looking forward to coming back again. I recommend to everyone who wants to be pampered and have a holiday in Eden a home away from home. Well Done keep it up.
We were in Eden from 4-14 October 2017, first of all, I would like to mention the high level of their service, all the staff was so friendly and helpful, all questions were solved in the shortest time. Special thanks to reception staff (Achini, Bhairabi, Shamila especially) for their warm welcome and smiles) Room service was good too, they cleaned the room 1-2 times a day, changed the towels, put 2 bottles of water every day. During our stay we were sunburnt, thanks to the wonderful staff ( especially Lasantha, Wasantha and Roshan) we improved soon, the brought medicine, aloe vera and visited us every day, gave 4 bottles of water instead of 2. The hotel has its own beach, which is clean if not too much rains. The food was perfect, diversity of different cuisines and tastes. So much fruit and dessert. The only minus was poor wi fi connection in the room. So the hotel was very good and I would like to stay there in case of going to Sri Lanka again.
This is our 11th visit to the Eden over the past 12 Years and the staff are a credit to the management, yes we can all find faults if we really look closely, but the staff are excellent whether they work in the gardens which are kept extremely clean and well looked after, or the restaurants, bars, room service etc. The food has improved over the Years with far greater variety and quality, if you require something different then just ask and I am sure they will able to accommodate you. If you have a problem/issue with anything be it food, room cleanliness etc. then please ask the reception ladies (Executive Officers), namely Tharani, Shamali and Bhairabi as they will be able to assist you and resolve any issues that you may have. Do not leave your complaint/issue until you return. No matter how small as they will be able to assist you. Please also use the feedback forms provided at the end of your stay to provide constructive criticism or praise as the management can only act when they are made aware of an issue no matter how small it may be. I know that Nissanka was appreciative of our feedback. The General Manager and Residential Manager do carry out daily inspections either as a pair or on their own so please speak to them also as they are very approachable with any issues that you may have noticed. Special thanks go to Ruvin, Samantha, Mahindra, Lasantha, Lal, Wassantha, Lahiru, Chamara, Yoman, Roshana, Shameera, Tharani, Bhairabi, Tilak, Chamila & Indika for making our stay wonderful yet again and we look forward to meeting the family (staff) again in 2018. Apologies for those members of staff who have not named but you know we do appreciate
My previous stay at this hotel was before it was damaged by the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami, and it is every bit as good now as it was then. Friendly and efficient 'check in' and 'check out'. Very good accommodations and food. Deserves its 5* status.
My wife and I stayed at the Eden for 2 weeks on an A/I basis. The staff here couldn't do more for their guests. Every employee gave 100% and made our holiday one of the best. Even the Manager took time to speak to us on more than one occasion. We emailed the manager a couple of weeks prior to arrival requesting a room on the top floor with sea/pool view. He responded immediately informing us that a room on the top floor had been allocated to us and would be ready when we arrived - perfect room kept spotless throughout our holiday. I loved the food but my wife is a very fussy eater and was disappointed with the salad selection at the buffet restaurant, however, after discussing this with Guest Relations, the Manager took this on board and made sure we both enjoyed our meals, stating that he wished we had mentioned this to him earlier. There are also other restaurants, all very good. This was our fifth visit to Sri Lanka and we consider this to be our favourite hotel even though the other four hotels were also excellent. They just seem to "go the extra mile" here. We liked the location of the hotel. The beach is lovely being clean daily and pleasant to walk along, no stray dogs neither. There are one or two little shops just outside of the hotel including a jeweller's shop, Dara, on the main road where we purchased some nice jewellery and had a ring repaired, excellent service, would recommend. Tuk-tuks are available outside of the hotel and are very cheap. We chose Janek to take us where we wanted to go. The railway station is not far which is handy if you want a trip into Galle, the cost of the train tickets being only about 50p (100rupees). We enjoyed our drinks here too, plenty of choice including wine, no complaints. The bar areas are comfortable and there is nightly entertainment in the main bar every night. There is even a beach party every week which proved popular with many guests. The hotel itself is beautiful, everything is spotless and comfortable. There is a gift shop and jewellers in the hotel. We did visit the jewellers and found the staff to be really helpful. Although we opted for a jewellers outside of the hotel, we were impressed with the goods here also. The pool area is lovely and the gardens are well-tended. Tips at this hotel are not expected but gratefully appreciated. We tipped small and often as we felt the staff deserved a little extra reward. Tip or not, the service will be the same. Judging on how much we paid for our holiday and what we got, we consider this to be exceptional value for money. Other reviewers state that this isn't a 5* hotel, if you want true 5* then you will have to pay 3 or 4 times what you pay to stay here but you will find most aspects of this resort hard to beat. A special mention to Shamila, Bhairabi, Dilak, Dulum, Silva, to name but a few. Well done all of you, looking forward to seeing you all again.
I just stayed at this hotel for two nights as a British Indian and felt the service was very poor in comparison to those who are caucasian. I asked for water or any other drinks and it took over 10 minutes to come and when I observed other caucasian people asking who were sitting in the same area and asked after me, they were served under 2 minutes. This happened every time we were having breaking and dinner. It did not make us feel comfortable and felt that we were out of place. The hospitality was average, it did not give a home welcoming in comparison to the hotels we stayed in other cities. It is a nice hotel for relaxation and they do have good daily activities.
Recommend for best location to stay for short holiday for business people and relax , good for family holiday and incentive tour. Swimming cleans are very good, breakfast and dinner was excellent spread is vey good
It’s a very nice and comfortable resort to spend your holidays with your family. The rooms are very comfortable and it’s a busy hotel with a lot of rooms The hotel has access to the beach from inside and they have a very large swimming pool. The restaurant offers good food and they are many other amenities like spa, gym, games rooms and a salon
We stayed at the hotel for two weeks in September and thought it to be one of the best holidays we have ever experienced - even though we have visited Sri Lanka on previous occasions. Staff were a delight, the food and service were of excellent quality. We will certainly visit the Eden again. Our personal request to the Manager would be to thank all staff for a job well done.
Where do I start? After a very long journey, we arrived at Eden Resort and Spa. A lovely welcome by the check in staff with a lovely refreshing cocktail to quench our thirst. Our room was on the ground floor and it was a great location. Shan aka, who was our room attended ant, always had a smile and made our room up daily to a high standard. The differenr towel displays were always lovely to see. We got to know several of the staff, especially Lahiru, who worked at the poolside bar (as well as covering in many other departments). He was so friendly and helpful (a mangers in the making, I'm sure) Also, Brendon, the Food and Beverage Manager, was so lovely to chat to. We had the romantic meal in the Tree Hut which was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for Lahiru and Brendon. I must admit, all the staff we met made us feel very welcome. We booked a few tours from the boys on the beach. Patte and Lucky organised great trips for us at great prices. They took us where we wanted to go to. Our own private tours. Absolutely fantastic holiday. Thank you
