Red Lion River Inn

The hotel stunk of pot smoke, the dining room staff was not apparent. The hotel charged a refundable deposit but hold the deposit for up to ten days after check out. I was not told of this policy when booking or prior to check in. My room was cold and smelled damp.

Loved being right on the walking path which connected to the river, riverfront park, other hotels and restaurants. But it was on a nice quiet stretch of the river so nice and peaceful.

The facility is a bit older but the view along the river is beautiful. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

We were able to walk to the arena and that was important. We also enjoyed not having to go anywhere to catch a meal or drinks. It was nice to be able to do all that at one location

Sheets were pretty threadbare with a small worn out patch under the pillow on one of the beds, Coffee maker had to be washed out and cleaned before use. We stayed at the hotel one night on the outward leg and once more on the return leg of the trip. The room on our first night was worse and further from the lobby than one we had on the return trip. On the good side, the hotel is centrally located in Spokane with easy walking access to many places.

Lots of pedestrian walkways on either side of the river. Also within walking distance of downtown for great restaurants.

I've stayed at number of places during my daughters years at Gonzaga. But never the Red Lion River Inn until this week. Am already booking a stay for graduation weekend next spring. The staff is friendly. The hotel is pleasant and clean. I wouldn't call it luxurious by any means. The hotel is older, and there is no getting around that. But, they do a nice job with what they have. There are some nice amenities like a tennis court, pool, fitness area. The restaurant has live music on the weekends, affordable buffet breakfast ($10.95), etc. They even have some cruiser bicycles you can use. Ultimately, though, the unbeatable feature is location, location, location. Located right on the Spokane river, you can walk the pedestrian path 1/4 mile one direction and be in the heart of the Gonzaga campus. Walk the other direction, and you're in the cool spot of downtown Spokane. With restaurants, shops, music venues, and the river park where the World's Fair was held.

I had left a personal item in my room when I checked out. It took me four attempts to get a hold of someone with no calls being returned. When I finally talked to the manager I was told my item was not in lost and found, meaning that housekeeping liked it and stole it.

Everything was as expected, one and only thing that should be mentioned is that breakfast is not included, shuttle bus service from/to the airport is a big plus!

Perfect location to the downtown area, bike trails and Gonzaga University.

First thing we noticed when walking into the room was the old stale smoke smell. It was obvious that it used to be a smoking room. Also, the room was very small for the price we paid. The breakfast was decent. We won't stay here again.

Beautiful room with kitchen. We loved Stanley. The Sawtooth Mountains are amazing. Hiking is great here.

Great location on the river, enjoyed walking trail to Gonzaga. Older carpeting but room furniture was fine, bed/bedding was very comfortable. Bathroom nicely remodeled. We really liked the outdoor patio at the restaurant and breakfast (included with room) was good (not great), could have used more staff at breakfast, i.e. coffee was running behind both mornings (and I thought coffee in the room was better than the restaurant!). Perkins restaurant is in walking distance, just across bridge, plus we walked to the Arc Thrift store twice right next door.

We reserved a Riverview room and in doing so Took two queen beds rather than a king bed. When we checked in, we were told that we had not reserved in Riverview room and that they were sold out. There were no apologies or offers of compensation. When we got to our room, there were leftover pretzels crunched in the floor by our bed. The bedsheets were standard fit rather than the deep pocket fit, so they did not stay on the bed. Our housekeeper came in during our stay and after she left, the squish pretzels were still there. I was very disappointed in our stay.

This hotel is average on the whole. The room was a good size, clean, comfortable and attractive. The problem was that it is over half a block long, two stories high, and people park their cars right by their rooms. This may seem convenient, but it makes for very noisy traffic at all hours. The second night, a group of 20+ -yr-olds moved in across the hall from us at about midnight. They were loud, shouting, arguing, laughing, swearing in the hall, going in and out of the room, slamming doors, etc. We called reception and they had security come and tell them to quiet down. They did not. After half hour, we had to call again. Security came again and warned them to be quiet. They did not. After an hour and a half of this, my husband called and said he would call the police or we would have to leave at 1 am if they didn't do something about the racket. They finally came and kicked the noisy people out. But it was too late for us. It took an hour and a half of intense noise for them to remedy the situation. We did not sleep, and my husband, who has a chronic illness and has to schedule his sleeping time on meds, had to miss his next day in Spokane in order to sleep during the day. I think it took them too long to get the rude people out, considering it was after midnight and they were going back and forth to their cars, probably drinking, and carousing. What are paying customers supposed to do? The hotel said they were sorry, but offered no compensation. Loud people in parking lot

Basic accommodations, nothing fancy. Clean with comfortable beds. Central location. Helpful staff. Good price. Would stay again.

Pet friendly, clean, great view of the river from the dining patio. Very nice hotel for the price.

It's right on the river, walk out the door and you can walk riverside for miles.

check in was uneventful room was tidy, however it was quite a hike from the lobby restaurant was decent

Staff very helpful. Had dinner there not the best food and over priced
