Loved the security aspect & the location. Was not happy with the bed conditions in the room.

Perfect and most self contained fully equipped "apartment - suite" in a non-casino resort available. Full Kitchen, stocked and ready for cooking own meals, lovely grounds...spacious, all "one bedroom" (or more) seperate rooms from living room/kitchen....minimum two televisons per accomodation...great stay like a home away from home! Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed the pool and gril—and the space for condos provide as far as family vacation.

When our party of 4 arrived, we were greeted by a virtual desk clerk via a phone. She could not find us our room even though we had paid in advance when we reserved. We waited 30+ minutes for a room, it was unacceptable. It had new paint and new carpet smell, and there were no drapes on the windows. We asked for another room but there were none available. A second group of 3 who were with us and who booked a similar room, but there were none to be had. They were then assigned 2 rooms, but one of them had not been cleaned by housekeepers yet (at 10 pm). All 7 of us had to find another hotel at 10:30 pm.

Overbooked our room so we had none at checki in at 10pm. Offered us a single but it had not been cleaned. Our friends room had fresh paint on walls with no curtains on windows. What a mismanaged dump.

Love this place. It's always a lovely time when I stay there and always ends too soon. I love the activities too.

We were so happy with all of the extras here, especially the kitchenette. We were able to cook our meals with ease and didn't have to clean first. The couch was very comfortable. The bathroom is huge! Two sinks and a large shower. The bed was comfy and clean. We'll definitely stay here next time we're in the area. It's not a room- it's a home away from home!

What we didn't understand when we arrived was that the Thunderbird is, first and foremost, not a hotel but rather a time share -- which makes a certain number of rooms available on the hotel market through Orbitz. This is not to say that there is anything deceptive -- there is absolutely no attempt made to market the time share units (I don't even know if any units are available), and the staff was surprised when they heard that we booked through Orbitz. The facility is fairly large and features a relaxing (as opposed to lap) swimming pool and an exercise room. Breakfast is served only on Thursday mornings, plus a continental breakfast on Saturdays. This is because, again, the place is a time share and all the rooms come with full kitchen including full-size (not hotel-size) refrigerator. We hit the Thursday breakfast and found ourselves in the midst of a very congenial group of regulars. The "room" we had was really a one-bedroom apartment and very spacious. Lots of closet space and two sinks in the bathroom area. But there was a definite 1960s retro feel with Formica surfaces, veneer hollow core doors -- and a tube TV in the bedroom! Remember those? The living room did provide a flat screen TV, so that was OK. Would we do it again? I think so. My first impression was "tatty" but that was unfair. Retro and "old school" would be more accurate. A little paint is needed here and there on the grounds but overall it was a fun 24 hours.

Quiet, calm, beautifully landscaped grounds. Easy access to I-80. Thursday brunch with the activities director. Nicely done.

I was here for business and thought I'd take a chance on a resort instead of a hotel. Besides the unusual check in process where I talked to someone on a large screen TV instead of in person, the accommodations were good.

As noted by many that have already stayed, the decor is a bit outdated. There are TONS of mirrors. The toilets were kind of loud, but not bothersome. I didn't participate in the activities they offered but they seems to have things to do for people. Only about 5 minutes away from the airport. According to my friends that we visit, the neighborhood around the resort is kind of sketchy and the security could use some work, all I had to do was say What room I was in to get through the gate but we were not bothered by anyone while we were there. All in all a good stay and a comfortable place to stay. Not a luxury resort but a great place at the end of the day

Dear Rebekah, Thank you for being so thoughtful and expressing what you liked and what you did not like during your recent stay. Thank you for mentioning that you enjoyed our location and the sense of security you felt. I wish you could tell us what about the bed or beds was not to your liking. We are in the process of installing new mattresses and foundations in every room and we are about 70% complete. There is also a convertible sofa in each of our units that makes into a bed. If you are so inclined, please add to your review to help me understand the issue a little better, but if you do not, I will understand and please simply accept my thank you. I will keep asking our guests about our beds and all the other features and amenities of our property to learn how we can improve. Please visit us again if you are in the neighborhood!

Thank you for the feedback! I have addressed the issue with the housekeeping staff to avoid issues like this in the future.
