Hilton Melbourne Beach Oceanfront

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

The staff and accommodations at the Hilton Melbourne Beach Oceanfront hotel was top notch.

hotel front desk was less than helpful when I asked for a different -this 200 room was flush with a roof. No help from front desk. First words out of front desk was "you want get your hilton points for booking with Orbitz"

The view of the ocean and the sound of the waves rolling in and out was spectacular. The room however did not live up to the images reflected in the advertising brochure. Nothing special, just a room with two beds. The balcony was too small to do anything but look at the ocean. It was nothing more that a ledge with a railing. I stayed at the Radisson (next door) a few months earlier, and for the same rate I had a suite with a balcony that you could sit and enjoy Mojitos as the sun rose. Given the comparison, I will not book here again unless they offered a rate that would be foolish to turn down.

Our room overlooked the ocean. The view was just amazing and loved the Rain. The hotel was only a 15 to 20 minute drive to our training center. The hotel was also close to fine dining and only about 15 minutes from the airport. I would consider staying there for a mini vacation since SW airlines is my carrier of choice for traveling. As with most of my reviews, this would have rated higher if they would have had a continental type breakfast. I did east near the swimming pool at the bar area. This was amazing to be able to hear and see the ocean along with a sports game on TV. Great staff!

The room was very good, but a microwave is a standard in most cases but wasn't included in this 4 star hotel. If you wanted to re-warm your coffee or tea, you were out of luck. The parking charge wasn't mentioned when booking this hotel, but turned out to be $7/day. Why not just add the parking fee into the price and eliminate surprises for the guest. Surprise charges are a negative. I might recommend this Hilton, but would have to warn about the parking fee and the lack of a microwave. One positive is that if you're on a business trip the locking safe will handle an oversized laptop with a 15 screen.

Had an amazing stay at the Hilton Melbourne Beach Hotel. We stayed here for the 4th of July weekend and it was probably the most enjoyable 4th of July ever. We sat down at the beach which gave us a front row seat of the fireworks. The staff was all very friendly from the girls at the front desk to the girls at the bar to the young man that brought us our room service. Even the hotel guest where nice. The room was clean and updates and the bed was a dream. The only thing is that we booked an oceanfront room and it was more of an oceanview. I would recommend staying in Tower 1 which faces the beach more than Tower 2. Over all we will definitely be back.

The front desk staff were simply amazing while we were there. We were quite impressed with everyone we came in contact with from the bar to the restaurant. Very friendly and helpful! There was some construction going on while we were there but it was the off season and to be expected. Overall we had a wonderful stay!!!!!!

Hotel exceed our expectations...excellent value, on the beach, and the staff was always friendly and attentive. Bartenders were inviting and helpful.

I expected a little more from a Hilton. Had dinner in the restaurant. Very expensive for what you got but expected that because of the location. Didn't need the gym since the workout opening the door to the balcony left you sweating and in need of a nap. Was told by the front desk there's a trick. Alternately lift the handle up and down while rapidly flicking the lock knob back and forth. The faster the better. I'm actually quoting there. About a minute of doing this at each attempt at opening the door actually worked. That just tells me they have known that their defective doors have been in this condition for some time. Every time we requested something we were first presented with a work around as if we hadn't thought about making coffee ourselves in the room instead of having a pot brought up. Even they are scared of the exorbitant costs of such amenities, but hey location, location, location, we get it. Evidently the room thermostats will not go below 69. We were told because of the location they just can't have everyone setting the thermostats where they want them now can they. It was 60 deg. outside but we couldn't sleep with the door open since there are no screens. The thought of the pigeons on the balcony just coming in when they pleased, nixed that idea. Of course upon checkout is when they told us that they would have sent engineering up to set the thermostat so it could go lower. Again, two different answers to the same questions. The staff was extremely friendly and they tried hard but the fact that everyone had different answers for the same questions just shows a lack organized staff training. A systemic problem squarely on the shoulders of management. We were offered a complimentary breakfast buffet on our last day. We were told that we could have eggs, omelets and waffles freshly prepared to order after we brought and ate most of the cold mediocre offerings from the buffet. Intentional? I doubt it, it's just inconsistency showing that lack of training and lack of management staff inspiration that permeated. I travel for business often and spend little to no time noticing such things but this trip was a vacation and I expected a lot more from a four star Hilton. Very disappointed and glad there are choices out there. The survey asks if I would recommend this hotel. I said no. Then it would not let me skip the question of who would I recommend it to. There is no "none" choice. Business is all about the details. You are not paying attention to the details.

Family reunion. Great beach, pool, and hot tub. Restaurant and bar were excellent

great view, friendly staff, very clean rooms, food and drinks are overpriced and could use a better beer selection

It is hard to beat a Hilton when it is affordable and close to the beach. Peaceful place in Melbourne.

Pool was fun but drinks were really expensive. Awesome beach and hotel was clean. The room was 85 degrees when we checked in and our air was broken. We hung out at the pool til 11 pm to beat the heat. Still no air at 12 am so we had to pack up and go to another hotel. What a nightmare and was exhausted the next day.

Had a great stay here. Great location. Clean, friendly staff.

great stay on the water with food near by. relaxing friendly service

We had a wonderful time. The pool area was wonderful with a perfect view of the ocean. The staff was very accommodating. We arrived early and they shuffled things around so that we could check in. Plan on staying here for any future trips.

Very nice, romantic getaway, steps to the beach. The room was clean and quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The pool bar was perfect for relaxing.

Parking was limited dung my stay and there was even rooms still available that night. Seems the parking does not meet the demands of the rooms. Pool was a bit small for such a capacity hotel. We found it completely packed and many kids and parents. Not a bad scene, just very crowded. Pool seems to be quite small to accommodate the guests. The beach access is perfect and rooms are good and clean overall. I would return for the nice and easy beach access. Thy could use a bar/drink stand out at the pool area or close to the beach.

Melbourne Hilton is a place I have stayed several times over the last 25 years. It is the right size and has all the amenities you would need. The buildings are angled so everyone has a beach view and are orientated such that they shade the pool area during the hottest time of the day. Highly recommended.

I wish we had a little better view of the Ocean - but overall - Great Stay & Top Notch Staff!! I believe you have have an excellent location & building, but without the employees to make it exceptional- you really have just a nice building... Special thanks to your Staff for making our vacation Memorable!! Thanks Again! J.P. Kentucky
