Overall good place to stay. Area is a little far to walk from for some downtown areas.
I would not stay here again. The front desk person when we checked in wouldn’t let us checkin with our Orbitz reservation even after a representative from Orbitz called and confirmed our reservation. Front desk wouldn’t budge and was was very indifferent that he wasn’t helping us. Paid ‘last minute rate’ to just check in since it was midnight. Entire hotel smells like pot. I had one of my kids with me and both of us were disgusted. The only perk was the taco truck across the street. Glad we were close to that. Otherwise, will never stay again and probably won’t ever stay in a Holiday Inn after the terrible customer service.

Great location if you’re spending a short time in Austin. It’s convenient to the highway giving you access to downtown and surrounding areas. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Very close to many activities. The River walking trail was great and a fun “people watch” destination. Rainey Street was very close and had a great vibe with many great choices of dining and food trucks.
